HiWe have to harden backup network for some specific clients. We have no DMZ - only firewalled network, and we dont want to have network proxy setup.The questions to my precisely understand firewall in commvault:What does it mean that A initiates tunnel connection to B like in 1-way net topology ? Does it mean that established tunnel connection has always open defined tunnel (8403) port on B ?Who initiates connection in 2-way connection ? Can we define it?We need the connection which is initiated from CS to client and created tunnel with opened 8403 port on client. I have just tried all types of  topology setup (1 way - in both directions and 2-way) but in the end always port 8403 is opened on commserve server. Is it by design or I missed something? Is it possible to force tunnel to open 8403 port on client side ? How can I do that ? When we completely block port 8403 on CS than connection cannot be established at all.TIA for your help.

Hi Expert,We have Commvault B&R system which is deployed on top Openstack contain 1 mainsite and several remote site. The mainsite contains Commserve (Windows 2019), Media Agent (RHEL 8.0) and Virtual Server Agent (RHEL 8.0). Remote site contain Media Agent and Virtual Server Agent. The B&R system backup some VM on top of openstack, and backup result saved on separated storage server.Within next week, we are planning to do delete-create Commserve as part of virtualization activity. There are some question which I want to clarify:1. During commserve delete-create (new deployment), what commserve part is needed to be backup? and is there any pre-activity we should do (such as terminate remote connection from VSA or MA)?2. After new commserve succesfully created, we need to re-integrate remote VSA and MA to new commserve. What procedure should be performed in Commcell console to detect the remote VSA and MA?3.  Question: I have a client that check readiness passes, I can browse to the drives, but its failing to backup.I know in the past a reboot of the client solves this issue, what logs can I look at that tell me the reason for this. Failed to open file [C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\iDataAgent\JobResults\CV_JobResults\iDataAgent\FileSystemAgent\2\6344\SysStateColInc.cvf] for output. We copy data to AWS S3 for long term retention and let it age to glacier after 30 days. In order for this data to be restorable I first have to rehydrate it with a workflow as Commvault only expects to work with S3 storage tier. This works fine for the occasional restores. We are now looking into a larger data removal as part of a cleanup project to reduce AWS glacier storage costs. My questions: If I delete jobs from the Commcell that have aged to glacier, does Commvault have to rehydrate this data back to the S3 tier to be purged from AWS? If so, is this done with the same restoration job Cloud Recall workflow?

Hello Commvault Community, Today I have a problem with the first full PostgreSQL Client backup.Our client has configured client PostgreSQL ver. 12.5 on the Centos 7 system. The client seems to be correctly configured - the connection to the base is there.The first backup full, unfortunately stops with the pending status and an error:Error Code: [19: 599]Description: Loss of control process PostGresBackup.exe. Possible causes:1. The control process has unexpectedly died. Check crash dump or core file.2. The communication to the control process machine xyz might have gone down due to network errors.3. If the machine xyz is a cluster, it may have failed over.4. The machine xyz may have rebooted. Source: commserve, Process: JobManager After analyzing the logs, I can see that during the time when the error occurred during the backup task, it loops: (screen1-2)-PostGresBackupParent.log815

Hi all,Although the documentation says otherwise I don't see the "Data Governance" wizard in Command Center under the "Activate" tab.Initially I was thinking about a licensing problem, then I installed a new "Evaluation" environment which should have all the functionalities active for 60 days and even in this case I don't see it.   

We added 2 Windows 2003 VM’s yesterday to a VM subclient, which have not attempted to backup even though they are present and on the backup schedule.Question: do I need to do an additional step to get my Windows 2003 VM’s to backup in Commvault version 11 .22.13

Unfortunately, the Pod is created automatically by Commvault, along with the image's path.In the case of Client configuration, they do not have posted traffic to official docker repositories, therefore Pods hang in the ImagePullBackoff state. HiIn the classic console, is there a way to eitherModify the Job Controller Icon, so by default it used a ‘filtered’ job controller view (without having to select the drop down on the Job Controller icon OR - Is there a way to add further icons to the ‘icon bar’ - and one of those extra Icons is a filtered view of the Job Controller

Doing some preparation of our DR environment and wondering, if we intend to only do restores in the DR environment, is SSD still a requirement? My thoughts were the performance is required to do signature lookups (for writes), but for restores this would not be required. Thanks!

after upgrading from v11.22.17 to Maintennce Release v11.22.22 all our SyFull Schedule Policies (with Option “run Incr Backup before SyFull) stay in waiting Status after finishing the Pre-Incremental-Job.Suspending or Killing the Jobs is not possible. Only Cycling the Commserver-Services is helping. After Cycling the CS Services, the SyFull Jobs change to running State and the Jobs will be finished successfully.Anybody else having this Problems after installing MR v11.22.22?Regards, Alex

Hi Guys, I finally found the exact article that describes a solution I wanted to implement and am seeking opinions to do this or not. Basically I want to create multiple Selective Copies under a storage policy and associate with different subclients/computers to meet a client’s tiering model and different retention. Because I also want to implement Deduplication between the Primary and each selective copy, Weekly and Monthly, I’m weighing an option to Create Selective Copy using a Library instead of using a Storage Pool. Hi, We are setting up a new Windows MA with new DD-Engine and a new DiskLib. The DDB disk has been configured with recommended 32k block size and the DiskLib volumes with 64k block size. We have run a new DASH Copy in the SP to create a new dedup baseline from the previous backed up data. And the plan is to make this DASH Copy the new Primary once all data is available. A standard re-baseline operation, that usually get better dedup ratio with an updated DD-Engine. The backup data is mostly Hyper-V vm’s. In this case the Data Written in the old copy was 9TB and the Copy stopped att 18TB in the new MA as it ran out of resources - DiskLib Full. This was unexpected. Now we are thinking about doing Move DDB and MountPath but if there is a general Deduplication degration we are not sure if this will work, and if we will run into the same issues again. Does anyone have a similar experience or knowledge about this issue and a r

Hi guys, I have storage policy SP_A that run daily monday-saturday incremental and sunday FULL.I have a secondary copy in this SP_A that run a scheduled at MONDAY 23h a selective copy of a full weekly backup.I wonder if I can get this behaviour: the same auxiliary copy of a secondary copy with the last full backup of week but that runs just after primary copy finishes.Is it possible get this?
