Hi there!I would like to get familiare with Commvault Endpoint Protection solution, however I am not pretty sure, how to access it.Is the Commvault Endpoint Protection a part of Backup and Recovery solution? If I download Commvault Complete™ Data Protection trial version, will I be able to test Endpoint Protection as a part of it as well?Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! 

We have a situation and/or I rather have a question in relations to FR20. After upgrading one of our commcells to FR20 with SP 32..half of our automation which is based on API calls started to fail and stopped working, meaning that some queries are passing through and API call works, but most of them do not work. I’ve tried to look through release notes of FR20 but did not find anything about such scenario and did not find anything in known issues of it. Anyone aware of any similar cases where after upgrade, the API calls stopped working and have there been any changes to API itself, possibly it’s structure or how it is called?. I do have a suspicion that it might possibly be due to different versions of commcells? Because that upgraded comcell is impacting some queries to non-upgraded commcell as well.Example: Variable job_request is ‘http://comcell:81/SearchSvc/CVWebService.svc/ExecuteQCommand

I need to know the snapshot size from all my vmware clients across all backupsets and subclients in a single report. I will analyze how many free space I need on vmware datastores while backup is running.I see the info on job details, but it would be easier if I have an own report for that in a single view.I tried the powershell module with Get-CVJobDetails, but in the output the snapshot size is missing.Any idea?

Could someone explain a flow of process for allocating readers for an auxcopy job?What does stream allocation take place in CVJobReplicatorODS exactly? I see that the number of readers is a function of num of CPU and RAM. By default, each CPU in a proxy can support 10 streams, and each stream requires 100 MB of memory. For e.g for VSA.E.g. My VSA backups were backed up with x number of readers and y number of writers to HPE StoreOnce Catalyst.How does the replication agent (auxcopy) decide and allocate readers for copying a list of N jobs to tape. Imagine there is a primary copy → Storeonce Catalystsecondary copy → tape (combine streams to 2 tape drives with multiplexing factor of 25). Number of readers varies from 12 to 38 in my environment. It appears that the number of readers used for the subclients plays a role in the number of readers that will be assigned in the auxcopy. My goal is to increase the readers for the auxcopy

When changing the Commserve Email configuration is there a service that should be restarted to ensure the new configuration becomes active? I have recently updated the email configuration however the emails are still using the old configuration (From Address, SMTP Server Address).Thanks in advance for any response.

I am seeing many different ways to run reports in CV, but none simply list ALL the machines configured for backup (whether active or inactive or virtual or not).  This is an Audit requirement to produce a daily report of ALL machines to compare against another baseline for coverage. Also to monitor when devices are added or removed - reporting when the count changes.  Unfortunately I am having great difficulty creating a report, as well as getting ALL the machines defined in the report.  Would anyone know how this can be accomplished?

Hello,here is my steps how to change name of rpm custom packer be default it is custom-linux.Instance001. You can change it as Commvault.Instance001 but still it is not standard for Linux world.Steps:Prepare two session on machine where you will build classic rpm package.2nd session go to path where you will have stagging folder and run this command:while true; do find . -name \*.spec -exec cp {} . \;;done1st session run normal wizard for create custom rpm package use stagginf folder where you are standing in 2nd session. After successul create package on this sesssion you should find spec file in current folder of second session. Hi AllI’m trying to come up with a kind a universal Error Handling for Workflows, in particular for ExecuteCommand Activities. Often enough they throw an exitCode > 0 and some commandOutput that may help the User.BUT then there are the times where exitCode is 0 but the outputXml states an error-condition. Tried to check and handle that via OnComplete Scripts.This is where I am stuck. Sometimes the response is generic and has an errorCode and errorString Element to parse, sometimes the errorString is missing, sometimes errorCode is 0 but an warningCode Element is added, but that isn’t returned all the time. Sometimes it’s a longer App_***Response Reply with the issues tucked in somewhere.Anybody know of a generic way to parse through all possible scenarios (mentioned or unmentioned) to catch issues right away, terminate execution and return useful consistent error Messages to User?Thanks,Stefan

Hello,We are trying to set up our Postgres DB to use blocklevel backups. Our system is PostgreSQL 10.13 running on Linux RH7. The backups run without an error. I can see all full and incremental (logs) that have been done over the last several days. After preparing the server (getting rid of the /main file and all log files) I started from the web interface a restore to current.After about 15 seconds the Progress indicator goes from green to yellow (Shows 10% completed) and I get the the error message : Received failed message for job [258820], phase [Restore]Event code 19:122After that the only thing I can do is kill the Job amd go back to my older normal backup. CommVault can restore that without a problem.Thanks for any help!Douglas

Hi, Setup is something like MySql is running on a windows server and HDPS is also running on Windows platform. Mysql server is behind the firewall. Required ports have been opened for backup and restore work. Taking back up can be done successfully but while trying to restore any backed up database, it is giving an error. Commvault has some white papers and even a Hands on Lab regarding Ransomware and using Air Gap as a layer of protection.  There are also YouTube videos on the subject.  There is no official Commvault documentation regarding the subject.  Is this Air Gap intended for companies with public facing servers to utilize a DMZ proxy to copy data and configurations inside a firewall?  Should this be used within a private network?

Hi, Reporting question again (I consider reporting a very important part of the product).We  export reports to PDF, for example backup job history.Problem: the number of records are limited in PDF , based on max size of records, not sre.For year reporting that’s a problem for us.Is there a way to increase that limit?
