Dear Connects,I have question related to Dash copy. I have a DB2 Client, Which writes Log/normal FS Incremental Backups backups for every 2 hours. In this way I will be having 12 Log/FS Backups in my primary Copy per day. I Just wanted to move only last Log/FS backups which happened in the day to my dash copy not all the backups which happened during the day. I could see the options for Full backups, not for Logs or Incremental Backups. Please suggest how to achieve this. Thanks !!

Currently there are 2 servers,  one of which has MS SQL on it for a business application.   and the other has a media agent and file services etc. on it.    They want to put everything on one server,  can the MS SQL and the Media agent function on the same server.   The server will be running Window Server 2022, with a MS SQL database running on it,  along with file services etc.   Will it work.   suggestions.   etc.

Hi Community,We are planning to implement MediaAgent side software encryption in our Commcell. I have changed subclient encryption setting to Media side for all the existing clients. But for new subclients the default encryption settings is Agent Side.Is there anyway to set by default the Media side encryption for all the new clients?

Currently we have our MRR Backups set to have a monthly Full set to be stored for 2557 days, which is 7 years.  This used to be the way we stored tapes but I feel that we need to change our thinking, as our system has 7 years of data and we did a full when we switched over to MRR which was uploaded.  So for our Company Policy in theory every monthly full has 7 years worth of data.  So at most I would think saving a year on the cloud is fine.  It would keep us safe from most issues unless something sits for a year without being found or triggered.  Long way to get to my question.  If I change our extended retention from 7 years to 1 year will it need to run a new Full Backup and reupload everything again or will that first backup we seeded at the start will just be there and all the other backups will just age out after they hit 1 year?  I really hope that makes sense, it does in my head.  Thanks for any info.

Hello,We have Commvault server, simpana version 11.28.68.We have situation that we want to keep the old backup whose retention expires soon. Also we disabled the schedule policy for this specific subclient.Is it recommended that we disable Data Aging for this Storage policy?If we disable Data aging for this Storage policy, backup jobs should not be deleted regardless of  exceeded retention?Best regards,Elizabeta

Hi,currently I’m struggling with PLANs and Oracle Backups.Once I associate a database subclient to a PLAN, the Archivelog storage policy is moved to the same plan. (whithout internally modifying the original PLAN association for the Archivelog subclient)if the PLANs are using different storage targets, this is not the wanted outcome.Is it possible to define the Archivlog policy / plan indendent to the database subclient (or even commandline) plan ? Hello everyone, how are you?Guys, I really wanted to ask you for urgent help, I've been starting to work with commvault for a short time and I know very little about it, yesterday by accident in the commcell console in an oracle database client I ended up unconfiguring it, and it lost its license Then every time I try to make a backup a window "there is no license available" appears, how can I bring the license I already use back to this client without harming it I don't know what to do  

Hi,currently I am trying to restore the folder Inbox only.So no subfolders should be restored, just all emails in Inbox.If I select the Inbox, all subfolders are included, please see screenshot, “Posteingang” is german and means Inbox. If I click again on the inbox folder, nothing is selected. If I deselect all subfolders, nothing is selected.If I select the checkbox beside “From”, only the emails on the site are selected. Since I can show only 500 emails per site, I can not select all emails. In this inbox are up to 10.000 emails which should be restored...is there a possibility to select with one click all emails in Inbox but not in any subfolder?Maybe I’ve overseen it, maybe it isn’t there?Setup:11.32.65, Exchange Online Thanks in advance for your help!

The current commvault infra deployed on single server i.e. All in One(CS+MA). Now i want to change hardware and migrate both on new single hardware with configuration and backup data.

Has anyone seen any roadmap or heard anyting from commvault regarding more restore options for vCloud director?We do miss the option of  Attaching disks to an existing virtual machine

Hiwhen i take oracle instance backup always get failing  message .when i check oraagent logs  i found this OraObject::CheckSid() - Galaxy Oracle SID[TEST] does not equal Oracle SID [] any idea how can i check or fix this 

Is it possible to update or create TAGs for any client system? As we are all FORCED to start using the CommandCenter, and Descriptions on VMs are not currently possible, I was hoping to leverage TAGs to help identify key systems, decommissions, Services, etc. However, I do not see ANY docs that reference TAGs from the command line. Any ideas? Sonny

Looking for advice or documentation to support changes.  Running 11.28.126I need to add slower (cheaper) disk storage to my Commvault backups.   I have a DISA Cloud virtual environment and it offers 2 speeds of primary disk.   Tire 1 High Performance Tire 2 Moderate performanceTier 1 -~ all Flash/SSD disk drivesTier 2 -~ 7200 RPM Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disk drivesMy Goal is to add the slower disk to hold about +60% of my backups.  Then the Faster disk can be used for the daily backups and quick restores and the slower disk can be used for long term storage (backups older than 7 days) and old archive restores I have a single, all in 1 Commserv/Media agent… server.   It currently has 16TB of local storage Disk attached to it in 2TB disk increments (8 storage disks). Only one storage pool.  All setup as Spill and Fill.Option A: I see in current documentation that I should use “dedicated storage pools for high-performance disks and slower disks”. Option B: But I also see documentation

Hi I’m trying to use 1Touch restore, and I have the backup set to backup everything, and checked the system state box, but when we go and pick the backup set to restore it gives an error“System State components needed for 1Touch recovery [ Offline Files, Registery, System Protected Files ] are not available in the backups selected……….”The source is Windows 2016, with 3 hard drives, on my backup job (default backupset) in contents I have “\” and checked “Backup System State”.Using commvault version 11.32.63    platform release 2023E  Client is at same version.Anything else I need to do to get the system state backed up right? Thanks-Brian 

Hi Team,My customer has large oracle DB 100 TB running on AIX power server and attached with Hitachi Storage. The DBs replicating to similar setup with block level replication. They configured the FS backup on replicated server and backing up DB (100 TB) as flat file using AIX FS agent. They restore the entire data to another AIX machine, storage space came from Dell storage on weekly basis.The backup and restore handles by same seventeen-node HSX, the backup is completing by 5+ hours and restore take 25+ hours.Currently we are trying to identify other possibilities to reduce the restoration window. We had an idea to explore IntelliSnap, but I am curious to know is it possible to perform restore snapshot into Dell which was taken from Hitachi?In this scenario, still data needs to travel over the network from source to target storage. Can you suggest if you have any suggestion/input.

Hi Folks,Got a question about a primarily Linux Commvault install environmentIf all your Media Agents & VSA's (& COmmServe) are Linux, Do you need a Windows equivalent to a FREL (File Recovery Enabler for Linux)?I know Windows can’t natively read most Linux file systems, but my understanding is that Linux systems generally have native ability to mount/open Windows NTFS. I've also never seen any option for specifying a Windows FREL equivalent in the system

Hello All,We see that Commvaut is using rondom ports on clients as you see below. Commvault listens these prots always not only dıring backup. How to ignore that issue I did configuration on client. But It is still using ramdom ports 

In my organization, aside from the Commserve (Windows Server 2019) itself I sometimes use another remote server to launch the Commcell Console. The details of the remote server are: Windows Server 2016 (Version 1607)Java Version: 1.8.0_411 The syntax to launch the Commcell Console from the remote server is:C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c  " ""c:\admin\bin\java\commvault\jre\bin\javaws.exe ""  c:\admin\bin\galaxy.jnlp" Up until version 11.28.124, launching the application might bring up a Security Warning and a message saying that the certificate is not valid and has expired, but pressing Continue will still launch the application properly on the remove server. But upon upgrading the complex to 11.32.69 and clearing the Java cache several times, attempting to launch the Commcell Console after skipping the certificate warning it now brings a popup error as see in the screenshot with more details in the attachment showing the Launch File, Exception, and Wrapped Exception. Do you know if th
