Dear Team, We have recently built a Commvault infrastructure with the following configuration: CommServe: Virtual machine running Windows Server 2025 Media Agent: Physical server with locally attached disks, running Oracle Linux 8.8 Mount Paths Configuration for DDB and Disk Library:  /dev/mapper/ol-opt_commvault_dbb xfs 600G 22G 579G 4% /opt/commvault/dbb /dev/mapper/ol-data_commvault_disklib xfs 11T 4.9T 6.2T 44% /data/commvault/disklib  We would like to know how to enable immutability (WORM) on the disk library, mount path, or at the storage policy level. Additionally, we have enabled ransomware protection, but it still shows as disabled in the Media Agent properties. Below is the current SELinux status of the Media Agent server:[root@MediaAgent64]# sestatus SELinux status: enabled SELinuxfs mount: /sys/fs/selinux SELinux root directory: /etc/selinux Loaded policy name: targeted Current mode: enforcing Mode from config file: enforcing Policy MLS status: enabled Policy deny_unknown

Hello,Commvault certs and courses are not available at the Readiverse platform after it transitioned from old Learning Advantage portal. So, I didn’t get any hearing from any of these e-mails: enablement-help@commvault.com, supportportal_admin@commvault.com, registrar@commvault.com. Who should I contact to make certs and courses available again?

Hi!As Server 2016 will go out of support anyways within the next year, I consider proceeding the upgrade before, as 2019+ support larger cluster sizes than 64 kb which should drastrically improve file system defragmentation and by that HDD performance.The “wasted” should be less of a deal, as Commvault saves data in big chunks of 1+ GB anyways. I assume that Commvault does not have trouble with the cluster size (the storage part in documentation is generally pretty “thin” regarding file systems, best practices etc.).Sidenode: You should definitely add, that partitions/drives above 64 (actually more 63.5) TiB can’t be snapshotted with VSS, nor can chkdsk do anything on those. But the main question: Is there any problems to in-place upgrade Windows Server 2016 to 2025?It would be big pain to migrate all that data (we have one machine running all services/functions) to a new (pricy!) server as long as the hardware is still supported/maintained. I’ve read and old thread that recommended do

Hi all, my task is to deploy multiple VSA proxies. Since I do this for the first time I can not really imagine all caveats and pitfalls that can be hidden.The right procedure should be:install Windows or Linux machine (physical or virtual) install VSA module during Commvault package installation (also specify Commserve server during installation) be sure that required ports are open on the newly created VSA proxyThere is a cuple of questions what to do next:is it necessary to create any Vcenter permissions/roles (as per video https://kb.commvault.com/article/63239 )? how to enable using this newly created VSA proxy? Any contributions will be much appreciated!

Hi,we have updated to the newest version an creates DR backups.But i can’t delete them. The folders and files are write protected. We tried to delete them with GUI, PS or cmd. But nothing. If we remove the write protection and open it again it is set.Any idea how we can remove the DR folders?RegardsDennis

 We have configured WORM storage lock for NetApp storage Grid bucket. As per documentation, the lifecycle policies need to be configured on storage end to remove delete markers from versioning.We have retention for 30 days. Now the questions ->lifecycle rule to delete non-current versions after how many days ?->Doesn’t commvault clear the versioned objects after the retention period is completed ?->As per documentation, it was mention Deleteobjectversion permission is needed for Access keys.Does it means Commvault will auto delete the versioned objects after retention ?  For a bucket with versioning enabled, you must have the DeleteObjectVersion permission to delete versioned objects. S3 Compatible Same tasks as Amazon S3 Commvault uses Compliance mode with object lock on S3 Compatible. Disable default retention when object lock is enabled or set retention days to 0. Dear Community, I'm thinking out loud and any suggestions are welcomeI have 2 sites, 1 commserve on each site with livesync enabled and replication is each 15mnONPREM SITE 1 2 MA with dedup + StorageONPREM SITE 22 MA with dedup + storage on AWS, we have one S3 bucket receving third copy from ONPREM SITE 1Question, in case of DR, wirth both site done, I want to rebuild from scratch is this a viable scenario ?We have only the dump of the commserve from Metallic  Build a Commseve Load the COmmserve DB dump Build a new access node Attach the access node to the S3 bucket Add new VMware hypervisor  Start restore from S3 bucket 3rd copy to the new VMware on Cloud environnement (like EVS etc...)I have doubts on these steps :) 3 - Build a new access node4 - Attach the access node to the S3 bucket Thanks to all for your help !!

For more help, please call your vendor's support hotline. Hi all, I’d like to ask for clarification regarding the upgrade process of a Linux Media Agent in Commvault.When upgrading from an older version (e.g., 11.24) to a newer version such as 11.36.60, is it required to perform the upgrade locally from the Linux server, or is it possible to upgrade the Linux Media Agent remotely through the CommCell Console?Also, when preparing the installation media, is it necessary to download the full Unix media kit (e.g., 11.36_Unix.tar) or is it sufficient to use just the maintenance release package (e.g., 11.36.60_Unix.tar)?I’ve encountered the following message when copying to software cache:Copy hotfixes is skipped for [C:\temp\linux113660\11.36.60_Unix.tar] because the media is not available for it.Any advice or best practices for upgrading a Linux Media Agent would be greatly appreciated. Good day  I am familiar with a Domain Name Change on a Commserve using the Name Management tool.I have Livesync enabled and just want to clarify how that option would work.On both Commserves I will add a DNS entry with the new domain name.When I run the Domain Name change, that change will update instance001 of the Primary Commserve. I assume that the 3rd page of the wizard will show me instance002 of the Primary and Secondary Commserves and I can push the update there.How would I update the domain name on instance001 on the Secondary Commserve? Does Livesync take care of that or is there another option I should use?I hope that makes sense.

Hello,Guys i have a problem with Cleanup with Quota, we set to start at 50% and stop when it became 25%.the mailbox limited with 2 GB and it was consumed by 59%.Archive job started then cleanup job started and finished when mailbox utilization became 10%. I believe the quota option not working while all the conditions are right.  Please Help  

Hi.I am planning for the migration of TSM (Spectrum Project) backup data to Commvault.I have a couple of questions around the configuration:1. For backup data from Linux TSM clients, a Linux Commvault Proxy/Staging client is required?2. Same as above for Windows TSM clients, then a Windows Commvault Proxy/Staging client is required?3. Do these staging clients need the Web Server and Index Store package installed or can this run centrally from the CommServe?Please add anything that should be considered.  Thanks.Ignes 

I have 2 FREL’s in my environment and we use this FREL as VSA proxies as well to share the load between other 2 VSA proxies. After upgrading this FREL’s to 11.28.107, we see VM backups fails with the error “The virtual machine [] did not pass the disk size validation. If this issue persists, please contact your vendor support hotline”.I have VCenter level configuration for VM backups and I have 7-8 Subclient and each subclient have 15-20 VM’s in it.When the backup get triggers for this subclient as per schedule, at least 6-7 VM’s fails with this disk size validation issue. Once this VM’s fails, I re trigger them one by one and backup completes without and issue.Can someone tell me, what can be done to resolve this issue completely.

Hello All,I have Red hAt Openshift KUbernetes backup. I am backing up application via label selector as the following. We noticed that There is not some application in the backup. For example ; middleware-architecture-dev. I have tried to backup this project middleware-architecture-dev with seperate subcleint. Backup completed succesfully. BU twe saw that some object are missing. This applications are Openshift Servicemesh (istio) CRD. Does COmmvault support istio objects?
