Hi All, We are not able to access Commcell Console via SSO from other Domain. We re getting Database error while trying to access Commcell console. From EVMgrs Logs we are getting 0xc000019B error. And from Client Machine we are getting 0x1b Unknown error. Microsoft is suggesting us to create SPN for Service Account , Is it Necessary to configure SPN for Cross Domain SSO. Please suggest us how we can troubleshoot the issue.

Hi, We have setup a third isolated copy on CloudLib. On this copy we are also enabling Commvault Compliance Lock. We have Oracle backups running to our Primary Copies where we have RMAN managing the retention. As per the documented instructions we have the CV retention set to Infinite on out Oracle Plan and this works perfect as we can see the jobs aging off per the RMAN retention. The question/concern is what happens on the third copy if we set the retention to Infinite and enable Compliance Lock? We cannot risk locking the data with Infinit retention for obvious reasons.Anyone out there that have experience of this? What is best practice? Regards,Patrik
Hello Commvault Community, We had a scenario where one of the (properly) backed up VMs was migrated to another DataCenter using the Zerto tool, then migrated again to the original DataCenter and stopped working properly. The VM named XYZ has been moved from the production DataCenter2 (ABC2) to the second (failover/backup) DataCenter1 (ABC1). The Zerto tool was used for this type of switching. The machine disappears from DC2 and appears in DC1 - the backup should be done, because we have everything prepared on the tags (Tags are configured at the subclient level), and the Zerto tool transfers all tags. In both DCs we have separate MediaAgents (DDBs, Indexes on them) and other repositories (other arrays) The problem is that the virtual machine [XYZ] in DC1 during about a week of stay did not perform a backup according to the schedule until it had Full configured (started according to schedule). Just as example with a daily full backup to keep it simple…In case you have a 4 days retention, but the backup keeps failing for a week, will all backup data still be there? Or will it all be expired? Thanks :) Maurice

Hi team,my customer started an update SP28 ->SP32 . Update failed due to several issues. We are in solving issue by issue but it will take some time.Now we observed that update procedure starts and wants to continue everytime we reboot the Commserve host.We checked the scheduler but cannot find who iniciates the update process.At the moment we should not and want not update to 32. Sql is now Ok, but we have still some index V1 issues we want to solve on SP28 before update. Does a key or a procedure exist which lock the update process until we are ready to update?Can anybody help ?Thanks in advanceJoerg
Hello ; I have 2 Mysql Cluster running on the same version “8.0.20” and check configuration have been applied to both clusters and everything is fine. Check readiness is ok for both clusters. Also, FS backups for both clusters were fine, and FS our of place restore between both clusters. The issue in restoring the DB from one cluster to the second one is that the restore is starting and there has been no progress on both DBs cluster and everything is fine and check readiness is ok for both also FS Backup for both clusters were fine, also FS our of place restore between both cluster , the issue in restoring DB from one cluster to the second one, the restore starting and no progress on the job since job started and no data moved but the DB created on Mysql end but there is no progress from commcell side and job last time update was the same as the time of start job ?Commv. version 11.30.48.
I have vm pack license and 1tb capacity license, am also taking file system level backup of some vms,but it is counted in capacity consumption, is it the expected behaviour,? In vm pack regardless of what kind of backup we are running this shouldnot count in capacity tb license right

I have created a disk library in our dev environment which is using it’s own separate volume. it will be used for ddb backups. If I want to increase the capacity do I have to add a new volume or can I just resize the underlying volume in linux ?
I’ve been asked by the company lawyer to recover an email. I can go into Compliance Search, specify the user in the FROM area, enter a search term and find the desired email. So far so good. Next I select Export to > PST > and enter a file name. My question is: Where does this file go? It’s not in the Downloads folder of my local drive or anywhere on my local machine. It’s not on the CommVault web server and not anywhere on the CommServer either. So… any ideas?Ken
Good morning,We have 3 subclients clients; VM, Filesystem, and MS SQL on a VM hosted on Hyper-V. I’m looking at the backup history in the msdb database, and my MS SQL backups kicked off from Commvault are working as intended, and I see “CommVault Galaxy Backup” as the backup set name.However… the VM incremental backup kicks off at 10pm, and I see message like this in the SQL alert log: I/O is frozen on database MyDatabase. No user action is required. However, if I/O is not resumed promptly, you could cancel the backup. Then a few seconds later: I/O was resumed on database MyDatabase. No user action is required. The backup at 9:25 was the incremental backup, while the 9:02 AM backup was me calling a full backup from the console.This might be a better example, this shows the 10pm incremental and a database backup: Can someone help me understand this? The MS SQL datafiles are supposed to be excluded from the VM backups, so why is the differential VM backup freezing IO on my datafiles?

Hi Team, The Library of Storage Policy Copy, which I marked in the red frame in the screenshot below, will be closed. For this reason, we need to move the data to the "Private Cloud Library" that we have just created."Private Cloud Library" is not listed as Storage Pool when creating new Storage Policy Copy. There are already 2 Storage Policy Copy attached from "Private Cloud Library".The question is: How can I add a Storage Policy Copy with different retention addressing the same Library? Is there a limitation?If I can't get past this, is there any suggestion on how I can move the data?
We are currently running several M365 clients over a resourcepool using a number of access nodes.Is there a way to limit the max amount of streams for a single access node to ensure its not overloaded?example: 100 M365 clients with 10 streams generate up to 1000 streams when run simultanously. However I would like them to be limited to no more than 50 streams per access node., so with 4 access nodes they would never use more than 200 streams in total.I’d rather scale with more access nodes as needed rather than try juggle the correct number of streams on all clients.Currently on Commvault 11.28

Is there any way to poll/monitor the number of currently active Job Streams via CLI/API?We can see that value in the bottom part of the CommCell browser but I couldn’t find in the technical documentation any way to collect that value through some automated mechanism.Thank you!

Good day!We have a requirement to route VMware backup over the dedicated VMkernel network on ESXI hosts. Unfortunately, the CommVault solution does not have a proper method to route VMware backup traffic over 902 (NFC) to HyperscaleX. If I’m correct the “Dedicated Interface Paring (DIP)” will not work for the VMware backup type. Please let me know if there are some improvements made in the latest Version to manage VMware backup traffic using DIP.Below are the environment details, IP, and names being just dummy, curious to know if it will work if I use a host file entry to route traffic over a dedicated VMkernel network.
