current environment is> physical server with local mount path ,> os windows 2012 r2 ,> commserv version 11.24. we are implementing hyperscale x new version Version Hyperscale ISO 3.2312 CommServe server minimum version 11.32.35 (or later) CommServe Server: System Requirements Windows 2016 above we need to migrate the commserv to new virtual environment , but to copy the local mount path we dont have space in the virtual environment inplace upgrade of exsisting physcial machine OS is challenging any other options ??

I have a request to extend the backup job summary report to include information about the schedule from which the job was started. I think I've searched every DB view but can't find any reference from a completed job to the ScheduleID. Can you please give me a reference or explain why this is not saved?
I’ve been asked to perform a test restore of a production virtual server. Obviously we can’t have two servers with the same name and IP address running at the same time. Does CommVault have any documentation on how to restore a virtual server (VMware in this case), then rename and re-IP the server so it can be started up?I’ve been a client for more than 10 years and still use the Java GUI so directions using that interface would be appreciated.Ken
I’ve had this problem for years with 2012, 2016, 2019 and now Azure Stack HCI clusters where, if there’s been some sort of blip on the network or with a particular host, that we can get increasing numbers of non __GX_Backup named (normal named) .avhdx files at every backup on a small percentage of VMs (not the same VMs each time and problem is intermittent).The disks show as differencing but there are no checkpoints listed on Hyper-V manager and this usually requires downtime to consolidate the disks by restore to fix it.Commvault support advised they’ve never seen this particular issue before and that have always said that it’s a Microsoft issue but I wondered if anyone else had ever seen it.I don’t have the issue with non clustered VMs where the backup type is set to “File System and Application Consistent” instead of “Crash Consistent” like it is on the clusters.I think the issue is probably more related to the clusters than the backup type but am not sure. Planning to move the existing Commvault appliance to a new hardware with bigger disks and SSD’s.Some questions: Current version is CV Version: 11 SP16 HPK17, shall I move to 2022E or 2023E? In the Hardware Refresh Procedure,it is mentioned that the local mount path should be copied to a location accessible to the new server. The size of the local mount path is 10TB. I plan to copy the contents to the new server’s disk library. Copying will be done over the network and I believe it will take some time to complete, so my question is, should I copy over the mount path before i do the CV installation in the new server? What is recommended approach?

Hi,We are getting a Communicatins failure between a SQL Windows server and our commserve. The Error returned is : Invalid Certificate. Check if the Client has a valid Certificate. client shows Not Ready Status Has anyone ever seen this? If so is it a CV error or is there something the SQL ADMIN has to check on their side?
We are trying to use CommVault to backup an Oracle 19c Database straight to our hyperscale servers ( was backing to as separate SAN disk and then to hyperscale hope to reduce the extra step) backup is working, but a full backup gets all the white space on the data drive instead of only the used space and takes about 13 hrs to complete. Currently we are thinking that the SBT switch in the RMAN is what is doing this to us. Anyone else doing this? The length of time to backup has the DBA’s worried.
i would like to know how the restore works , considering i have a full backup on weekend like Saturday and then daily incremental . now i want restore from last Wednesday , how the restoration works ?system go for the last full backup and then check the incrementals then convert it as a full backup and restore , or do we need to do it manually ??

I’m deploying the authorisation workflows for the usual functions in a few environments. We already have a robust role-based access methodology where only privileged accounts have access to the system and a different account (higher privileged) has master rights, no low-level accounts have access to the system.The issue I can see is that the authorisation workflow sends an email to the privileged users in the groups that I choose to be the authoriser, but none of these users have valid email accounts so won’t get an email notification that there is a request to approve.Apart from having eyes-on-glass on Command Centre to approve requests what have people done in a similar situation?All users are authenticated via SAML using AzureAD for MFA so email addresses get synced from there. Perhaps we could have a local account with a Distribution list for all approvers but then the local account would have to be added to the “users who can authenticate” list which would allow a generic account

Hi! We are trying to replicate an Azure VM to a storage account located in a different region. Backup of the virtual machine worked, but when trying to use the “Replicate now" prompt, replication fails due to a sync error. Further investigation into the replication group/VM showed the error “One of the disks exceeds the maximum allowed size for an Azure VHD page blob". Is there a way to work around this? Specially that we are planning to replicate even larger capacity VMs. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi All, We are not able to access Commcell Console via SSO from other Domain. We re getting Database error while trying to access Commcell console. From EVMgrs Logs we are getting 0xc000019B error. And from Client Machine we are getting 0x1b Unknown error. Microsoft is suggesting us to create SPN for Service Account , Is it Necessary to configure SPN for Cross Domain SSO. Please suggest us how we can troubleshoot the issue.
