Good morning, During the standalone install you have the option to update the client to whatever is in the software cache.The answer file documentation doesn’t seem to have the information I need.https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/57498_customizing_answer_file_of_unix_linux_and_macintosh_custom_package.html Does someone know what I am missing? Thanks.Chris.

And when I see the logs I get this error <Failed to get "ACL" and "Catalog additional files attributes">.I attach logs...thank you for your help...Thank you very much

I recently installed Commvault using the appliance version 11.26.  Looking at the health of Commvault it is picking up a Commcell called MasterVM.  How do I get rid of this entry?  

We have a Sharepoint development server that seems to have filled up the c:\ drive, due to a subfolder in the jobresults directory filling up with about 145k files and 230GB or so of data, most of it from the 09’th and 10’th of December (so a couple of days ago)  I’ve tried to set the “prune job results” to 1 day, and restarted the services, also tried to trigger a backup job manually in an attempt to get commvault to clean up the jobresults directory, but no such luck. So i guess the question is, can i safely manually delete files and folder in inside the job results folder ?Specificly ..\jobresults\CV_Jobresults\iDataAgent\MS Sharepoint Doc Agent\2\1822\<some ID-string> folder, which is the one that contains 146505 files from the 09.12 and 10.12

Hello,  I’m trying to create bunch of subclients on client using command lines. everything was working fine no issue. and i have created a lot of subclients using ths way.suddenly, i start to get this error subclient: Error 0x202: Failed to connect to QSDK Serversequence: QLogin -cs commserver  -u user User logged in successfully. qcreate subclient -c client -a dataagenttype -b backupset -i instance -n subclient -sp storagepolicy -f content1 subclient: Error 0x202: Failed to connect to QSDK Serverany idea why this error started to pop up and how i can overcome it ? i have restarted the commserver services i have rebooted the server and the issue still exsist.

HI I have 12 Different Storage Policies writing ‘1st Full of the Month’  backups (via Selective Copy) to the same Storage Pool Copy 1st full of the Months (depending upon (clients/subclients) are typically started and finish within the first 15 days of the month.All subclients run incrementals on a daily basisAt the moment I’m using the ‘Aux every 30 minutes’ scheduleAnd the the VT criteria ‘ Last write older than 5 Days A few QuestionsGiven the setup above, the BigData Index backups run as a full every day on many clients and they get written to Tape every day (ie they over ride the ‘1st Full of the Month’ to tape rule, and copy themselves to tape every day (as the Aux copy is running every 30 mins) , and as such the Tape never reaches a point where no writes have occurred for 5 Days  I could use Associations on the Aux Copy to filter them out (have done this on other projects, it just tends to get messy after a while)   Would I be better off setting a fixed ‘once per month’ schedule

Hello,  We need to replace our backup storage as well as the media agents. We also want to update our environment from SP20 to SP28 and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this and have the following thoughts.The update of the existing environment should only be done at the end.The first plan I came up with would be to install the new media agents with SP28 and integrate them with the existing version (SP20). The new backup storage will only be used for the new media agents. New storage policies will be created and all active jobs will be moved from the old to the new storage policy. The data on the old backup storage will be kept until the retention period expires. After that, the LUNs and the old generation media agents are removed from the environment.The second plan would be to attach LUNs from the new backup storage to the old media agents and use them for backups. Along the way, the new media agents will be set up. When they are finished, the media agents will be added to

Hey all, i have an question regarding File Activity Anomaly Alert.  Did the software learn about anormal events ?  In my case we have an exchange mail archive server and there are weekly tasks which exports and imports mails.  Also we have an windows file archive server which archives files ( not with commvault )  So during the jobs we had million of file changes.  Is there any option that commvault knows about.  What do you think is the best case for this servers ? And one more question :)  Is there actuyll an better way to find out where the anormaly activy was found as descriped here: https://ma.commvault.com/Article/Details/49297 ?

Hello Commvault Community, There was a need to verify the completed backup tasks, and precisely to check from the CommandLine level or Postbackup scripts what status the last backup job ended with. Here the question arises, will Postbackup scripts work only for backup jobs that end with the Completed status, or for all statuses equally? If for all, will we be able to use CommandLine or Postbackup scripts to check the status of the backup task and maybe some other detailed information? We need it when protecting databases using FileSystem (database files sent to a VM in the form of a file, and protected there using File System Agent). Thanks&Regards,Kamil

Hi all, my existing customer wishes to onboard  their Tanzu workload on to their their existing Commvault platform . Currently they are using Velero to backup their Tanzu workload. Two key considerations 1) Can we backup Tanzu Management plane ?2) Can we backup their PVC volumes that resides on the vsan files services ? In terms of backup ,since Tanzu CSI is not being exposed to us and we will be doing streaming of the volumes. Are there any considerations in terms of architecture?

Hello,I would like to know how to find Front End Terabytes size of my backups.I see there is Chargeback report in Metrics Reporting which could do the job, but it shows nothing (no idea why): There is no data available for this report. Verify if one or more successful backup jobs were run on any of the registered CommCells. I tried Backup job summary report, which shows Application Size and I can filter it to only full backups, but some of fulls are backed up twice a week, some once, so result could not be perfect. Commvault 11.24.72Regards,Mateusz

Hi,We want to backup Oracle.Oracle Server freezes when I start the backup job.I reduced the stream size to 1 and set the deduplication and compression on the media agent side, but it didn't resolve.Oracle Version: 19.15OS: Ora Linux 7.9Thanks.

 My ProblemI attempting to create virtual machine pseudo client, but in order to do that I need to provide the subclient id, in order to do that I have to find the subclient that the vm would populate to via it’s discovery rules.My Question to YOU My question then is there a query or api to find a subclient by it’s content?I seriously doubt it exists, but if not can you point me to a table that defines subclient content. Thanks.Chris.
