Hello Team, Can we able to create a multiple storage pools for the single Three nodes HSX X cluster? 

Hello, we have many VSA backup jobs running and are now planning to change the names of the VMs on VCenter side. Currently these are only with the name in Vcenter and that should be changed to the FQDN of the VMs. Now my question would be if the change to the FQDN could affect the VSA backups or if we have to consider something.Kind RegardsThomas

but [dmz_ap1] commvault services online.so i restart services. then it’s status normalI must restart every morning. What's the cause?

We were able to configure the sql backups on certain machines, by stopping the services, putting the gmsa account on the CVD service (following this : https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/138465_using_group_managed_service_accounts_for_sql_server_agent.html )for some machine, we restart the services and we get the windows error.I saw clearly in the event viewer the error, but since it’s a gmsa account I don’t know the password, so I can’t correct it manually.I had to go back to regular account to have the backups running , again…Anyone had a similar issue?thxGilles from the Montreal area 

Hi all ,i got tape problem- no active controller assigned  ,initializing device failed .in the library all good and work , the problem in the commvault .the write to storage work prefect  .full scan not working (library is not ready )after reset library got error message (initialzing device failed ) anyone got this problem  ? any suggestion  ? Best Regard,Dudi shaya

Hi, guys,I have a question, not long ago we had problems with a backup that could not be run during the day, it was run manually and crashed the environment, is there any way to lock the backup so it doesn't run manually at specific times

I received a request to backup and restore Kubernetes applications using the Application iData Agent. In my case a MongoDB and only individual collections should be able to be restored, for example. The BOL allows backups of Kubernetes apps to be application-consistent only. Why isn't there a way to backup App Aware on Kubernetes? Is there perhaps a feature planned for future versions?

Commvault upgrade includes upgrade of Commserve Console, Media agents and Servers (VM and Physical). We have about 14 different sites and over 500 servers so I cannot complete upgrade of Commcell console in a day. Probably it will take about a month to complete upgrade across site. So my question is will the backup have any issues when the commcell console (11.24) is in an upgrade version and the media agent and servers are in lower version (11.16)

Hi,Is there way to chain multiples scheduled jobs so that they are dependent one on another ?For example, one job would wait his dependent job to finish before starting. 

Hello All,I understood we need odd number of servers to setup the index server cloud. However when we have 5 node in cloud, 3 for HAC and 2 for index store. In this case 2 index store node will have a disk capacity based on the sizing.Lets consider i am setting up exchange on prem backups with content indexing, i have 5 node index cloud and two access nodes. I will also have share for job results directory.Now the question is around the index server cloud setup, when i create the index server its requesting to update the index directory location but i have two nodes acting as index store in this case which node disk should be used for the index directory when i configure the index server cloud.If i use any 1 of the node disk then if that node fails or down due to some reason i will not be able to search \ browse the index from that node in this scenario this will be single point of failure even if we call it as Index server cloud with HAC rite.I would like to understand more about this

I love activate- This app has made our legal audits almost hands off and I love it. I do have an issue- I dont know how to export more than 500 rows of a report generated from Activate.Currently I am in the File Storage optimizaion field and clicking on a access time 0-1 years. I click the review button and 2.8 million itms pop up. Id like to export that as a csv..which is simple-- click the cog and hit export. However, it only exports the max of 500 rows.Yea - i know - do 500 at a time-. No thanks.  Ideas? 

Dear all,is there any way to sync the internal schedule with an external application such as Outlook or similar?I understand this would be a one-way synchronization but it still would be useful to integrate Commvault schedule into an external calendar. Alternatively, also an export could be a usable solution. Thank you!Gaetano

We want to upgrade our old commvault server which also has commvault SQL DB. I believe license for both Commvault Commcell and SQL is provided as bundle by Commvault.So when we do upgrade of Commvault Commcell and all other components of Commvault can we use our own license for SQL? This way instead of having Commvault (Commserve) and SQL running on same server, we have got separate SQL DB licensed by us? This approach is different to in-place upgrade where you upgrade your DB and Commvault which is running on same server. Commserve version is 11.24.7 running on Server 2012 and SQL is 2012 Enterprise

We’re migrating VMs from different vcenters and stand alone vmware esxi hosts to a vcenter which is  already configured in Metallic.  How do we get our vcenter in Metallic updated with the current VM inventory?  I’m looking for a “rediscover VMs on hypervisor”, “reinventory Hypervisor” or to be able to tell a VM already in inventory that it’s on a new vcenter or hypervisor.  Currently a migrated VM is stuck on the original hypervisor or vcenter and we can’t back it up.

Hello Commvault Community,  Some time ago I ran a case in Commvault support for SP20, for a problem with granular data recovery for BLB. Incident 210702-97 The issue has been resolved with hotfix: SP20_PreRelease-4648-BINAfter upgrading the environment to SP24, the problem was noticed again when trying to granular restore for BLB. Here I have a request for you to check if this fix is included in SP24 or is there a need to raise a ticket in Commvault support asking for rewriting this fix for SP24? ThanksKamil

is there a qcommand or REST API or any other way to update the Active Directory properties without doing it manually.I’m specifically looking for an option to update the User account field.  

Hello community,We have a three node Oracle RAC cluster that we are having problem adding a node.   One of the server fails to add into the cluster in commvault because it detects it with an index V1 instead of V2.    I assure you that this server never had version 10 software installed.  All three servers were provisioned at the same time and all have started with 11.20.  The commserve is now on 11.28.32 and I suspect it might be a bug on this newest version that somehow detects it as V1 instead of V2.  The reason I believe it is a bug is because we had all three servers in the cluster before and as part of DR testing we switch back and forth between another three servers.  We just switched to this cluster this morning, and the last time we switched away from this cluster was when we were still in 11.20. The IndexingVersionStatus.xml report that I downloaded from the content store to load into the web console does not work for us.  It spews out errors that is not helpful at all, i.e,

Hello Community just wondering if CV supports point-in-time restore for mssql db when it has block-level backup configured for the dbsif so, once we restore that first job, can we only need to restore tlog backups to keep the destination DB up to date ?or can we schedule db clone ?

I'm curious to hear if there are plans to organize a Commvault GO event this year. Also keen to see how many from the community would attend if this get's organized. Would be nice to meet some of you in person.

Hello Team, Backup type: FSbasedDatabase version: 13.8 and 11.17CV version: 11.26.36 Is it possible to perform a restoration of FSbased PostgreSQL backup (instance1) to a different server with different instance name (instance2) ? (where we have different instance name and OS linux users)  Will the copy operation from CV backup server to instance2 work? If it works, will it have file permissions same as instance1 ?If not, then how do we handle this scenario. A typical example, we would like to copy a database from one instance to another.  Regards,Kamal
