Hello,I backup a VMware VM in Vcenter snapshot mode.When I go to client goups, I see that VM under the vCenterTherefore, When I try to add a new client for this VM to install SQL and FS IDA agents, I have this message :Do you know what is the best way to resolve this.Thanks !

During the backup I have issue: /opt/PostgreSQL/8.3/bin/pg_dump: unrecognized option `--lock-wait-timeout=60000'Commvault  11.20.46Postgres SQL 8.3 I know that the new version of Comvault no longer supports this version of the databases I have a question, is it possible to modify the pg_dump command in Commvault? (to omit an unrecognizable option) Alternatively, how can the following problem?

 Question: is it possible to add another error code on the same report, for example we send out reports for error id 6:64 but I would also like to include the error code 19:857 on the same report.

And this is commvault support...premier support contract, 1 hour response time for critical tickets.Ticket opened at 10:25AM:  Then it’s 11:25AM UTC, and ...tada…they just change the time , without contacting customer:  occur on or by Apr 22, 2021 2:36 PM (UTC)Then it’s 11h38, and ...tada...another hour added.. Seems Commvault has flexible hours on their clocks.

we have a potential customer who use a snapshot backup product to take 15 minutes backup; it is a sector based product which has a filter driver installed on the sevrer; withCommvault file system agent we only do backups once a day; is it possible to use the file agent to do a 15 minute backup; any potential issues. Or should we be using the snapshot backup(VSS; disk sectors) rather than the traditional file system Commvault backups where it reads all the files 

Hi There.I have a customer that wants ALL communication within Commvault Components to be secured.I know that the WebConsole and the WebServer can be forced to use HTTPS but in that particular Mail Archiving Project we have an Index Server.As per BoL the Web Servers must reach the Index server on port 20000 (default) in HTTP. Customer is requesting this to also be a secured connection (HTTPS). Any Clues?In addition to the above, he is requesting directionality of Firewall ports. they do not want to open bi-directional if it is not required so what is the direction that need to be enabled on FW for:WebConsole and WebServer Users and WebConsole (HTTPS 443) WebConsole and CommServe WebServer and CommServe WebServer and Index Server CommServe/Media Agents to ClientsIf someone has any document/link or clues on the above it will be greatly appreciated.Thanks and  regardsAbdellat

Hi All,I have somewhat discussed this topic in the below post that has not clearly answered / resolved my issue.https://community.commvault.com/technical-q-a-2/stubb-recall-not-working-183 When disabling SEP completely the recalls work successfully.By configuring and adding all process and folders to the AV exclusion list does not resolve the problem. The only method that allows for stub recalls to work successfully is by configuring the AV On-Access scanner to not scan for Read operations in the folder where the stub is located. Can someone please assist in clarifying exactly what processes are involved with the recall of files? I can see cvd.exe, cvods.exe and clmgrs.exe popping up from a Commvault point of view. Could there be any native Windows process involved in this process that might have a r

I also see same issue in my environment frequently where backups on multiple servers hang randomly. And then we see commands like ‘tasklist” timing out on the client which confirms WMI is not responding.We have to reboot every week or so to fix.Does anyone know why WMI hangs? Unfortunately we don’t have Microsoft support so have not been able to take up this issue with them.

Hi,We just updated our environment to 11.23.3 and now the reports scheduled in the adminconsole fail.If we look in the folder we see all reports ending <report_name>.pdf.hdr or <report_name>.html.hdr and they are all 0kb If we run reports from the Console GUi reports are generated fine.We are still investigating, we think connection issue on port 80, but does some knows where the extention .hdr comes from?krDanny

I have existing SnapMirror relationships which I created from the NetApp CLI. I am trying to create an auxiliary copy which will not create new relationships, and will not force a re-baselining of my data. I want to import the existing relationships. Some years ago I used the OC6ImportExisting Relationships key on the Media Agents to accomplish this. It has been a while and my most recent attempt has not been successful. 

Hi, for some backup clients subclient activity is turned off for various reasons. After updating from 11.18 to FR 22 those jobs will be shown in the Job History as Failed Job. But it was no failure, is was a decision made by the administrator. Is there a way to suppress the display of those jobs? I did not find anything in the manual.Regards Martin 

 I have a client that for some reason I have to ask for it to be rebooted every week or so, we have already uninstalled and reinstalled the Commvault file agent software twice.I can browse to the contents of the client, the cvping comes back clean from the media agent to the client.My question is: has anyone else seen this problem.. the server is a Windows 2012 R2 Standard     

 In the above screenshot, it shows that some backup are Invalid and the the copy status is unavailable and it sets the retention date for 3 months later. I believe there may be a setting somewhere to change that retention date but I do not know where.Also, is there a way that if the copy save on the media agent that returns to be invalid/not available to be retried and remove the failed one? If I look for the dedicated job on the storage policy, its all green so I can’t change it there.Thanks all.

Hi allI have very large SQL DB on a client site. Due to it’s size the client is also a Media Agent that backs itself up and then replicates a second copy of the backup data to the secondary SQL node in the AG.What we’d like to do is use the Secondary node to backup the SQL AG DB from itself which would allow the primary node to not be accessed.From what I can see this is not possible. You can only run a backup copy/TLogs on the Secondary node. I just want to confirm there is no way to satisfy this client request?

Hi,Another question:  We have HANA instances, with couple of tenants(dbs) in there.So :       HANA instance1       =>  TenantDB1       =>  TenantDB2If we want to disable the HANA backups (backup activity), we can disable it on the HANA instance1. So far so good.But that option doesn’t exist on tenant/db level:Is there a way to also have the same functionality on HANA tenant/db level? 

Hello,i need a report or script that generates a list of orphaned snapshots of the NetApp volume.The report/script should query in the Commvault database the snapshots for a volume and the real snapshots on the NetApp volume. Both must be compared and all extra snapshots on the NetApp volume (Commvault knows nothing about) should be reported.Has someone here something like that? Or a hint how this can be done?Because of a database problem Commvault don’t delete the snapshots before a specific date. For volumes with a simple retention this is easy to do manual, but for the volumes with a advanced retention for monthly etc. snapshots it is complex when doing this manual, where will a report very helpful.Kind regardsStefan

Hello,Question 1 :I have a gridstor  composed of 2 mediaAgents MA1 and MA2one GDP and 2 partitions.This gridstor point the a S3 bucket name CVbucket01 I want to create another gridstor with 2 other mediaAgents MA11 MA22one GDP partitions and 2 partitions.is it possible to point the the same bucket CVbucket01 or is it mandatory to create another bucket Question 2 :When we installed the first gridstor, we selected 2 partitions for DDB. Can I add other media agent and how to increase the partitions ? I know that the limit is 4 nodes per gridstor is it correct ? Thanks to all for your help 

Hi,I have configured SAML authentication on the Command center and an ADFS server for a domain.Everything works but there is one small thing i don’t get to work.If i logon and enter the username the redirect to the ADFS servers works but, i need to enter the username a second time. Is there an option to send the username with the SAML redirect? 

Hi All, we are trying an DR Restore for our Exchange enviroment.  We have done the System restore of the 2 Exchange Nodes ( OS level only in vsa backup ) we added the disks and checked if the DAG is working fine.  So we have an running blank Exchange DAG. When we try an DB Restore we get always this error: Error Code: [72:106]Description: Cannot find active copy for database [DB04] on [.domain], Exchange2013 can only restore to active database copy.Source: exchangeserver, Process: CvExchDatabaseRestore This error message is strange because of 2 things: The we have only .domain nothing before no dag name or exchange server the Exchange Server is 2016 not 2013 in the client properties we have 2016 We also tried to create an new exchange DB in the DAG ( DB04a set overwrite and mark offline ) and tried the restore to this DB but same error.
