hi, i was wondering if is expected that the an ad groups users are automatically managed by commvault?a customer noticed after removing a user from a group that it was still in the user group according to commvault, even after a succesfull sync.and i could not find a statement in the docs which says that it will automatically remove user if they are disassociated from the group in ad.  so we used the above sync now button which was succesfull.and we expected a user which is not in the ad group to be removed:but it is still listed there.so i was wondering is that expected?  kind Regards, Thos Gieskes.

Hello,We are experiencing some problems related to the restore part(FS/SQL)in the sense that even if we have some firewall rules set up in place(inbound/outbound on MA,clients,commserver via proxy server)and the backup is made using a separate backup network card configured on proxy server and clients, the restore part still seems to be made via LANUnfortunately this problem with the restore made over LAN causes us a lot of problems in the sense that sometimes the firewall crashesIs there anyway to avoid this and force the restore to be made using the dedicated backup vlan?

Hi, What is the difference between “size on media” and total “data written”?  If i look at the commvault documentation i find this:Size on Media:Displays the size of all chunks of data stored in the media.Total Data Written:The size of the data that is stored on the media.https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=9495.htm#o9497I don’t understand how it’s possible that “size on media” is larger than “total data written” 

hi,Another question regarding the “Backup job summary” report.Our problem is that the report is just too big. For a tenant, the backup report is about 70MB. (one month), which is just to big to send via email. (and for external customers, we just need to email...)Same for the html version, but there the compression is saving a lot of bytes.Now, my question: The (standard) report contains “Databases in SQL Server and Sybase Backup Jobs”, which is also part of the “Job Details”. So that’s duplicate data, and not really usefull if the customer has other databases too. (then it doesn’t make sens to only have the SQL server & Sybase jobs in a reperate sections)Is there a way that we can exclude the “Databases in SQL Server and Sybase Backup Jobs” information from the backup job summary report for a tenant? This way we could save a lot of space in this report.As it’s a standard report, I don’t think we can modify it?  

Hi,Is it correct that a new Team needs to be added manually if you want it to be included in the backup? Like https://documentation.commvault.com/11.23/essential/134544_add_team_to_teams_app.html? So unlike for example SharePoint Online, which autodiscovers and add new sites automatically.Thanks!

Hello!I recently discovered that we where missing backing up a database on a client. Asking around no one remembered removing the database in question from the subclient. Luckely this is a sandbox system, that also means we only keep 7 days of backups. Looking over them all of them was missing the database.So I looked in the SQLiDA.log file and had to scroll back all the way until March 1:st. On that day something happened. At the time of the backup, IntelliSnap, it seems the database is missing on the SQL server for whatever reason. As I understand it, the SQLiDA checks the sublient content and then checks the SQL server. If a database is missing on the SQL server the SQLiDA removes that database from the sublient, with as far as I know no notification!?! And the backup was marked as successfull!!I understand that the database would go into the default subclient, and would be backed up there. Hi,we have a customer with some issues with the Outlook Add-In. For some users the Add-In does not load when trying to access an archived email and behaves like it was not installed. For others, the add-in loads, but does not display the email content. Double clicking an archived email simply shows a blank window. With the “Quick Look” button, the email can be accessed in the browser. Also, this icon is not shown for the affected users:The customer told that uninstalling and re-installing on those clients does not solve the issue. Since it is working fine for most of the users, this seems to be an issue with the add-in itself. My question is: Are there any logs for the Outlook Add-In to check? I asked my colleagues, but no one is actually used to the Outlook Add-In since we do not get in touch with it usually.  Regards Holger

Hi all, The command center only allows a few languages, which can be annoying for some users.Isn’t commvault considering  allowing customers to create/add own language files, so that also the community can work on translations?This way customers can add translations based on translations from the community, with no addtional effort from Commvault. Just an idea / question :)

HiWe have to harden backup network for some specific clients. We have no DMZ - only firewalled network, and we dont want to have network proxy setup.The questions to my precisely understand firewall in commvault:What does it mean that A initiates tunnel connection to B like in 1-way net topology ? Does it mean that established tunnel connection has always open defined tunnel (8403) port on B ?Who initiates connection in 2-way connection ? Can we define it?We need the connection which is initiated from CS to client and created tunnel with opened 8403 port on client. I have just tried all types of  topology setup (1 way - in both directions and 2-way) but in the end always port 8403 is opened on commserve server. Is it by design or I missed something? Is it possible to force tunnel to open 8403 port on client side ? How can I do that ? When we completely block port 8403 on CS than connection cannot be established at all.TIA for your help. 

Hi Expert,We have Commvault B&R system which is deployed on top Openstack contain 1 mainsite and several remote site. The mainsite contains Commserve (Windows 2019), Media Agent (RHEL 8.0) and Virtual Server Agent (RHEL 8.0). Remote site contain Media Agent and Virtual Server Agent. The B&R system backup some VM on top of openstack, and backup result saved on separated storage server.Within next week, we are planning to do delete-create Commserve as part of virtualization activity. There are some question which I want to clarify:1. During commserve delete-create (new deployment), what commserve part is needed to be backup? and is there any pre-activity we should do (such as terminate remote connection from VSA or MA)?2. After new commserve succesfully created, we need to re-integrate remote VSA and MA to new commserve. What procedure should be performed in Commcell console to detect the remote VSA and MA?3. Hello Commvault Community, Today I have a problem with the first full PostgreSQL Client backup.Our client has configured client PostgreSQL ver. 12.5 on the Centos 7 system. The client seems to be correctly configured - the connection to the base is there.The first backup full, unfortunately stops with the pending status and an error:Error Code: [19: 599]Description: Loss of control process PostGresBackup.exe. Possible causes:1. The control process has unexpectedly died. Check crash dump or core file.2. The communication to the control process machine xyz might have gone down due to network errors.3. If the machine xyz is a cluster, it may have failed over.4. The machine xyz may have rebooted. Unfortunately, the Pod is created automatically by Commvault, along with the image's path.In the case of Client configuration, they do not have posted traffic to official docker repositories, therefore Pods hang in the ImagePullBackoff state.
