Hi There.On an MSP Environment where tenants' servers communicate with the backup infrastructure via cascading gateway, where would you place the Exchange Index Server required for Mailbox backup knowing that:The Web Server located on MSP environment needs to communicate with the index Server directly (not sure we can via gateway proxies) Does the index server require to be on the Tenant Domain? Can it be located on MSP environment and still manage indexing of an Exchange Server located on Tenant network and/or on O365 ?Thanks Abdellatif 

I have question about how to perform clean Dedup Reconstruction. What is de first stap do you take? Do you need to mark disk libary offline for Maintance mode first?When the Dedup DB reconstruction running what kind of jobs can interupt the proces?  In my situation MA got crashed and after the crash started restore and then after restore automatic Dedup DB reconstruction. Sometimes is going wel but like today in the middle of the add record phase its failed with error: Unable to communicate with Auxiliary Copy process on MediaAgent. All commvault processes on the MediaAgent where running. After the fail i stopped all processes on The MEdiaAgent en did restart. After restart the restore started again. 

Hi community!I have faced the error like this recently:Failed to recreate OFM snap; Continuing with live data only, error=0x80070306:{COpenFileManager::CheckAndRecreateShadow(118)/W32.774.(One or more errors occurred while processing the request.)-Maximum OFM snapshot retry count reached, RetryMax=3} The job was configured to fail if the VSS fails. But the job finished successfully. Looks like smth. blocks access to the files included to the VSS snap. Did anyone see the error like this? Thanks in advance!

Im a rookie commvault user. What does the “\” back slash represent for the Default subclient of a Windows agent.  Does this mean it will back up all local drives  (c:\, D:\ and e:\ etc...) along with system state?..   Well I see system state is check box is selected so thats a no brainer..  Our server has has multiple.. local drives (C, D, and E) and I didnt know if I needed to create subclients to back these drives up?   I know I could just run a test backup but we arent there just yet with our s3 bucket...Thanks in advanceBC

I am facing the same issue but in our case neither of the jobs are working. We have Oracle 12 în a windows environment. Hi,Me again. Now regarding the “ File Duplicates Dashboard” (or other dashboards).The docs regarding this dashboard: https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=118036.htmThis report you can export to pdf/html.But that report only contains the “collapsed” first page:  So it doesn’t show all data in the report, and it’s not expanded. So pretty useless.Of course, that’s maybe expected for pdf/htmlIs there a way to export that in csv in order to have all information? 

Hi All. We are planning to deploy commvault marketplace image in Azure for backing up azure services. What could be the approximate license cost for backup azure services? Just need a approximate one.

I have a problem with IndexServer object for one storage policy. For some reason backup of Storage_Polixy_IndexServer started failing (its in running state and never completes). No events listed in the job window. Last synthetic backup failed for all clients for that policy and its probably because Index issue (not 100% sure). Is it possible to create a new one. I know that is created automatically when storage policy is created. Anyone had done that before?CommVault ver. 11.20.9Thanks.

So another question.Regarding scheduling backups.  So our environment which is mostly windows servers and a few linux servers and 1 MsSQL.   Is following an accurate assumption:If I want to create a new client group, example - “Windows Server Agents” and then associate all of our Windows servers to this group this approach seems much cleaner way to create bkup policy then creating a seperate backup schedule for each windows server individually.  What is recommened?  Also if I was to create this group client Windows server bkup schedule I notice it doesnt let me chosse what drives I want to backup and the system state option.   I only see these options if I set up a backup schedule for an idividual client as there is a “content” tab where I can select aLL local drives or browse etc..and then there is also a check box for the “system State”   Does the client group bkup schedule automatically bkup all local drives -  C:\ drive and if there happens to be a D:\ it will back that up as well

Hi all,we are deploying a new MSP Environment for backing up O365 Applications.To have the Access Nodes and Infrastructure Settings hidden for customers we have deployed the Infrastructure Pool App Workflow from Store and using an UNC Share for Shared job results path.Commcell is running 11.22 and Exchange Online and SharePoint are working fine so far.OneDrive is giving me some question marks. The OneDrive App is not able to discover Users, always saying “Users and groups are being discovered in the background. Hi Guys, The Customer is having a problem. Some of VMs show the following error: Found a multi-segment swap partition on virtual machine [vm_name]. Ensure that a new full backup has been run on this VM.   An error appears even if Full backup job is being run.Backup ends with status “Completed’ As I can see there is an article referring to this error.http://kb.commvault.com/VMW0030However, the article refers to Service Pack 7, 8, or 9. The Customer is running FR20. I’d like to know your opinion, guys.Do you think that the Customer can ignore this error?Do you think backups that ends with this error and have a status ‘Completed’ are completely fine and the Customer will be able to use them to restore VMs in the future? Rgds,Kamil

Hi,If we encrypt our backup data by using hardware (tape drive) encryption, I wonder Is the encryption dependent on the tape drives which perform the hardware encryption ? If the tape drives fail, will encrypted backup jobs become un-restorable from any replacement tape drives ? Will there be an encryption key needed for this type of encryption ? Who will manage the encryption key ? Commvault or tape drives or the tape library ? Is the key needed for restore each jobs from an encrypted backup job from the tapes ?Thanks,

Can anyone advise the recommended way to install a MR on Hyperscale cluster please?Remote installation from Comcell 1 node at a time or can all the nodes in cluster be selected in a single job? Does maintenance mode need to be used etc?Thanks in advance

I try to enable livesync ont the prod customer commserve. In the control panel\Commserve LiveSync, I have selected the checkbox to Enable Livesync.The name the  instance002 on each commserve is okI have selected the default CommServeDR, in connectivity I have chosen  Use Existing Configuration and leave all by default.after 5 mn the Console is stuck. “Commserve Livesync datasaving in progress ...”When I verify naming in the process manager, I notice that the client name of each Instance002 contains _NODE at the end, but on the console the name is ok.  Do you know why it appears ?Thanks ! when I go to process manager of each commserve I have :PRODClient name   commserveClient Hostname    csprod.mycustomer.comInstance Name    Instance001CommServe Hostname    csprod.mycustomer.comCommServe Name   commserveClient name         csprod-SQL_NODEClient Hostname    csprod.mycustomer.comInstance Name       Instance002CommServe Hostname csprod.mycustomer.comCommServe Name     commserveSTANDBYClien

Why is this marked as red (issue) in the admincinsole if the backup did run and completed successfully? (now it’s MAr 14, 5PM)   

Hi, For some environments, we use a VM based backup.For restoring purposes, we have restore agents installed on the vms, so that individual files can be restored.Works fine. Now the ‘problem’: when you use the command center, you can go to protection → file servers.Because we only use the agent as restore again (no backup license active), you can see the machines over there. BUT…on that page, they all show are “red - missed” sla….panic...Is there a way to “map” those machines to the vm , so that user doesn’t panic. Of course, not sure if you experience the same.
