Hi Commvault Community,I'm working with Commvault Threat Scan and need help verifying if the daily Avira signature updates are occurring successfully. According to the documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/commvault_threat_scan_requirements.html), updates should happen automatically every 24 hours via an outbound connection to https://oem.avira-update.com/update on port 443.However, I reviewed updateinfo.log and found nothing related to Avira (no success messages, errors, or timestamps).Is there a specific log file, command, or Command Center view to reliably check the last successful Avira update and current signature version? Or a way to force a manual update and log it verbosely?Best regards,Niko

Hello all,I have a virtual environment on VMware that I back up with Commvault. The first copy is stored on local storage, and the second copy is made to Azure Archive Blob combined with the Cool tier. For both copies, I have deduplication enabled. I have a question about the restore process when deduplication is enabled: will the restore process recall/rehydrate all data related to the deduplication database, or only the data related to the specific job I need to restore?I have been looking for information in the community but could not find anything regarding deduplication enabled for the Archive tier.Thank you in advance.

Hi Expert Team, We are getting below Vulnerability for Nexus scan on AzureHCI nodes where VSA proxies are installed.These VSA nodes are used only for HCI VM backups not VMWare.We have earlier raised one case 240809-322, but it was specific to VMware. Now the question is how these plugins loaded when we are not doing VMware backups using this proxy.Can it be deleted manually? Is anyone else using Azure Blob discovery in Commvault? Specifically under Protect → Object Storage → Object Storage Groups?I’ve defined several Object Storage Groups to automatically detect new Azure Storage accounts. Discovery itself works—new accounts are picked up as expected. However, I’m running into issues with excluding certain accounts from backup. 🚫 Exclusion Logic ChallengesIn one subscription, we have Storage accounts that should not be backed up. We’ve applied a tag to those accounts and created a rule in the Object Storage Group to exclude them. Dear Community, We are Planning to deploy Data Isolation / Air Gap ( Primary is in On Prem ) for a secondary site in on Prem. Logically isolation DC is my 3rd Site and sending the secondary copy from DC1, DC2 to my DC3( isolation site).We are Planning to enable the AIRGAP between my Primary Site and new DC. Hi All, short question :) We have nutanix ahv vms with quest os windows 11 and tmp active. We are running cv 11.40.10 when we try to run vsa snaphsot we are getting the error vm not found. Do you know if this constellation is supported ?

We are preparing to phase out our NetApp FAS3220 storage and migrating data to other platforms. Currently, we have three LUNs created on the same NetApp volume. These three LUNs are connected to a Windows cluster server and presented as drives D:, E:, and F:. I created an IntelliSnap backup job on the cluster client with block-level backup enabled and included all three drives (D/E/F) in the same backup set. I also configured a proxy computer (same OS version as the file server) for backup copy operations. When running the backup job, the process hangs at the file scan stage: One snapshot is created successfully at the NetApp volume level. Three snapshots with the same prefix (volume snapshot label) are shown as mounted to the proxy in netapp. On the proxy, only two drives appear, and the job remains stuck for more than 6 hours. Hello everyone,My customer had a question we can’t seem to find the answer for. We’re wondering if we can have different retentions for active users deleted items and for users that are deleted/disabled in EntreID. As far as I can find Commvault doesn’t see a difference between deleted items and deleted users.  Or has someone found a “Work around” for this?

Hi,I’m trying to test 1-touch restore for Windows. When I’m trying to connect to Commserve, there is a “failed to setup a communication (QSDK) session” error: You can observe that the initial connection was succesful (“connected to comserve”). But then there is this QSDK problem. I checked the logs and there is info that it could be no direct tunnel or couldn’t bring any automatic tunnels to commserve.I think it could be the problem with network routes / topologies on Commserve, but here is a question: How can I setup network route or topology to client which not exist yet? I mean when I start 1-touch wizard and configure network connection to Commserve, it is not a real client but just some host with random hostname so how Commserve could know what network settings apply t

Hi.A Hyper-V cluster was upgraded from 2016 to 2019 by removing a single host at a time, then reinstalling the server with Windows Server 2019, and joining it to the cluster again. This process was followed with all hosts, one at a time. We have ran into this more than once with  on-prem 11.36 whereby either a synth or full runs for an org. While the jobs exist prior to the full, the objects cannot be seen, downloaded, or restored.So the question is - does the cloud version work differently?Then - if not, is it a limitation in Sf or “the SaaS world in general?”?If fulls are unavoidable but you lose every aspect of jobs prior, then what? I see nothing in the best practices about this.thanks

After setting up livesync for the CS’s, someone inadvertently set a plan for the “empty” default SC which is auto created when that new primary SQL client is created. Since the plan cannot be deselected from the default SC nor can the schedule be disabled obviously, the thing fails every day and if we disable the activity on it that also is flagged for various checks, so, it’s rather annoying. How can we forceably detach a plan from it and keep it silent with no SP assigned to it like it should be?thanks

Hi Team,We have had LiveSync in operation for some time, but have only been testing it with TEST failovers, not production.We are now ready to move to a full, PRODUCTION failover, but to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible, I thought i would run this past the community.Apart from the Commvault docco that we will be following:-https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/planned_failovers.htmlIs there anything else that we need to be aware of?We are on SP36.We would be looking to leave the failover in place for a few hours, so we are hoping this process is now mature enough to not cause us problems.  But if you had problems with it, it would be good to hear what happened.Thanks 

In 11.32 I see commvault has API collection, from where we can fork it. Where can I find Commvault REST API collection link to import in Postman for 11.36? I did not understand deprecation notice.If I have to import the collection to postman how I can do it in new versions? ReplacementThe Postman support feature is no longer available to visualize and interact with the latest Commvault RESTful APIs. Hello,In order to recover space, some days ago I deleted all jobs from one Storage Policy Copy, but I don’t see the data has been deleted from the local disk library, and when I check the forecast report there are no pending deletions.I have run a DDB Space reclaim job with Clean Orphan Data selected, I have waited a day before rechecking again, but there are no changes.Any ideas on how I can reclaim and recover this space?(Or if it is a matter of time, how long should I wait? Could I check the delection process status?)  Thanks in advance.

I have downloaded the required driver files using the command  .\CVInstallGCPDrivers.ps1 "C:\CVDrivers" download.    When we are trying to install the drivers, we are facing following issue.  And drivers files are getting removed automatically from the folder once we run the command

I see that encryption is enabled in the subclient configurations as "Network and Media (Agent Side).The following explanation explains this: When selected, for backup operations, data is encrypted before transmission and stored encrypted on the media. If I don't enable encryption at the storage pool level, won't Commvault still be considered to have encrypted the data as it's written?What's the difference between these two?Is data encrypted on the fly, and is the line between the Media Agent and the client secure?
