We have a Dell Isoilon storage cluster hosting smb shares which are configured as libraries in Commvault The SQL backup to the libraries seem okay again we are using DDB and the stats say write load 40% DDB lookup 15% and network load 40% for backups; however the throughput is 660GB which is irrelevant although unique data of 34 GB took over an hour also there are 4 objects during the backup so I suspect it had used multiple streams during backup however when doing the restore of a single database; it took over 31 hours and looking at the logs the culprit is slow reads; can I increase streams during restore when restoring just 1 DB ; also given the issue is stemming at reading and everything looks fine at Dell Isolion side (cpu memory etc); I had paused all the other jobs what shall I do next may be a read test?   CVPerfMgrRestore.log:19611: |*27612*|*Perf*|11076969|     Perf-Counter

It has been a while since i last read anything about WORM (Storage Lock) in Commvault and wanted to make sure I`m not misunderstanding or missing anything. My general understanding is that once WORM Storage Lock is configured and retention criteria is met, DDB is sealed. Once DDB is sealed nothing else is written to that DDB.New DDB is created and as per Arlie confirmation, the next job regardless of what the schedule policy may start (lets say an Incremental) that job gets automatically converted to Full Job so the baseline is estabilished. No issue until here unless Im missing something. The above statement used to be in the documentation (not sure if Im just not finding it or it was rephrased) but I simple cant find.Instead when looking at the documentation for WORM:

When creating a new cloud storage, I am asked to enter the media agent. However since I am in a tenant(company) account, I do not have access to the infra server like commserve and media agents. How can I give minimum access to the tenant so that the tenant can add the storage?

After an unexpected upgrade to v11.40 from v11.32 all backups are now very slow. Low throughput and observed 99% DDB lookup. Backups aren’t completing. One Auxiliary copy has a huge 22TB of data that needs to be copied to tape. All these issue appeared after the upgrade

Is anyone else getting this error message every time their SynFulls run?  11.36.46 I want to say this stuff started happening when we moved from Server 2012 to 2022, but I don’t think that’s my problem.  Windows Server 2022 - CS, MAs, VSA Proxies Every time the SynFulls run, most of them sit there in a Waiting status, yet there is always a single stream that shows Active (some over 24 hours) and always throw this error message, which was supposedly fixed a few MRs ago:Error Code: [19:1926] Description: Some jobs were skipped due to read errors. Dear Team, We are currently running our CommServe (CS) and Media Agent (MA) on the same physical server with RAID-5 disks. Recently, we encountered an issue with the disk library where the mount path went offline due to data corruption. As a result, we are unable to access the mount path drive.The affected hard disk has been removed and handed over to a third-party company for data recovery. The disk contains critical data such as email archives, file system backups, SQL, Oracle, and VM backups. Hi All,We are deploying Commvault SaaS Endpoint Backup for laptops and would like to know if SCIM provisioning in the Enterprise Application can be used to synchronize users and groups from Entra ID to the Commvault tenant.The reason for this query is that, while SCIM synchronization successfully creates users in the Commvault tenant, the group synchronization fails with the attached error message. Could you please confirm if any additional configuration is required on the Commvault tenant side to resolve this issue?   

I want to restore database to point in time in the past.I see in comm console there are available old backups. I am giving the following command and it errors. There is a weekly full backup and daily incremental backups and archivelog backups.There is  full successful backup on 08-23-2025. Hey all,Forgive my newbie-ness.I am attempting to setup Azure backup in CommVault 11.26.62.  I created the Hypervisor, but had some questions about the Access Node setup.  I want to put the access node in my region where my storage and VMs are, but my confusion is with it requiring a computer group.  I don’t have any of my Azure groups listed in CV yet, as I don’t have the access node/hypervisor setup, right?If anyone has any documentation on this config i’d sure be interested in knowing.  The CV documentation is, well, just not that good as far as I can tell.Thanks!

We are currently using Commvault v10, and we have data stored on tape that we need to restore directly to a Synology NAS Unit system, which is mapped to the media server. This is necessary because there isn't enough space on the media server itself. However, when I select the media agent for the restore destination, the network locations are not showing up. Additionally, since it's a NAS unit, we are unable to install the Commvault agent on it.

hi,For any of you still using tape on Linux MA’s, I was wondering if there’s a way to force the Expert Storage Configuration to use the alias (friendly names) created by udev rules for those devices and the changer?Setting up udev rules isn’t that hard and I know RH says that WWNN’s used “by-id” are automagic, but the names are never human intuitive. Plus we’ve seen some issues whereby rebooting the MA is a crapshoot that means sometimes the drives all work and mount media fine, and sometimes it’s no dice. I could never see the changes noted in the events and so created udev rules to try and keep things consistent, but the field can’t be edited in expert storage config under any circumstances, it just finds the ../scsi-blah devices and not any of the aliases.

Hello, i want you to ask what is your feeling or experience with Commserve on Linux ? We run at the moment a lot of tests with Commserve on Linux and we think it is a very good solution but i want to know what you thinking about !  so may you can tell me your experience and feeling about this new feature! Cheers 

The Security Assessment > Platform security page identifies a critical issue with the “File Activity Anomaly alert” not being enabled. Unfortunately, when I go into the Java GUI Console > Alerts > Configure Alerts, “File Activity Anomaly alert” doesn’t appear as one of the options.  I’ve searched the documentation but don’t see any steps on how to load this alert. Does anyone know how to load a missing alert? (The File Activity Anomaly alert specifically.)Thanks in advance for any help.Ken

Hi Commvault Community,I’m searching for a precise method to export all job IDs that “live” in every Disk / Cloud Library in our Commcell environment.From a previous case, Commvault support mentioned that the recommended way is by querying the Deduplication Policy DDB (from the CommCell Console, under Storage Resources > Deduplication Engines, then view Jobs).Question:Is there a command line tool (like qoperation, qlist, or REST API) that can export all job IDs from a DDB (including Files, Databases & VMs Deduplication Stores)?   instead of manually exporting jobs manually from the GUI?The goal is somehow to automate these reports for audits, analytics, or targeted operations (such as clean-up, reporting etc). Please for your feedback.Nikos

Hi everyone,I have several commcells. On one of them there are “No data available” on the Comcells, Agents, and Client Groups tiles. All other tiles seems ok. Anybody know why and how to fix it?Also, on my other comcells there seem to be no data from january to july for the same three tiles. I guess there is no way to generate the missing data again, but do anybody know if it is a known bug? RegardsGunnar

 Hi Team, We are getting the below error very frequently while running aux jobs. It tells that all device streams exhausted and job will be in pending state until streams become available. Please advise me how to allocate devices streams to avoid this issue.  I have increased Parallel data transfer streams on the Media agent level and Device streams on the Storage policy settings- it does not seems to be helping. Please advise me how to define stream values and what are the things we should consider when increasing or decreasing the streams. How it works?  

Hi Folks,we need to create quite a lot of custom packages (rpm) for linux clients on a regular basis (SAP-Oracle, SAP-Hana, Linux-fs, and so on.)We are currently doing this via ./cvpkgadd and then clicking through a lot of pages until the custom package is finished at the end. is there a way to automate this process via some command line where all necessary options (most of them can be left at the default value) are provided (which packages to include, to which commserve to connect to, ...)?Thanks for any ideas on this :)
