Commvault Cloud Topics

I have a very small 5-7 servers/hosts (physical) to protect. I think its about 6-7TB. Have any of you ever installed Cmmvault as an All-in-One configuration? If so, what are some steps you would like to share? I can’t seem to find any link that will show how to do this.

Hello  Is there a way to download Cloud backups ( Office 365 , Dynamics sharepoint) from Commvault Cloud locally? 

I’m trying to run an intellisnap backup of an Oracle database, but unable to resolve why it’s not running. The array has been added to Commvault properly, intellisnap is configured on the host, but every time I try to run a backup I get hit with the following error message: Error Code: [32:392]Description: Failed to prepare snapshot. : [VendorId [DELL ] for device [/dev/sda] is not matching for DellEMCPS]Trying to troubleshoot the error message and I can’t seem to figure out where I’m going wrong. 

Hi Team,Recently we had multiple clients because of which license was over utilized to 130%. so, I disabled the clients for which backup isn’t required and now the license utilization is at 92% but I still see the below error.“The system is over the licensed capacity/usage. 2019 iMac, i9, 128GB RAM, 4TB OWC SSD, macOS Sonoma 14.4.1, backed up by Metallic Endpoint (laptop).I’m getting the error “Some huge extended attributes couldn't be backed up” and “Resource deadlock avoided” on the individual files in an encrypted (Cryptomater) directory under iCloud on my Mac. This is new, only in the past 4 days. I’ve used Metallic to back up this machine for 4 years.iCloud is showing the “Download” icon, so some files are local and the rest are in iCloud. Hi,How I can edit the CommServe host name from the client? I have reinstalled this many times. At first it listed a correct CommServe hostname. After 5-10 mins, a “_Disabled_” appeared before the correct CommServe host name.Take note that we’re on managed services. And this is an internal issue after the installation. Hi Everyone, We Currently have Commvault commserv (All VMware Environment) targeted to HyperScale appliances. However, HyperScale 1300 is EOL/EOS. We have a spare HP MSA 2050 SAN storage available and require your advise before we configure it as a library.As HP MSA being an entry level storage, is it recommended to be used as target library even though disk speed are 7k for  HyperScale and HP MSA? Would there be performance issues as storage needs to mounted to additional server server to be used over 10 gig network as VMware does not have SFPs? Would configuring backups on HP-MSA give us same dedeuplcation ratio as that of HyperScale appliances ?

Hello,We are running some pre-DR tests and workflows and I have come across an issue with VMWare VM restores (Windows) to Azure.  Basically, the Azure agent does not get installed.  The server can be reached through RDP, but other extensions that require the Azure agent, won’t work.  I worked with Microsoft and they showed me how to install the agent, both online and offline.  However, looking through the documentation, Converting to Azure Resource Manager (metallic.io), I see a mention of installing Hyper-V drivers for Linux, but nothing for Windows machines.Is this normal behavior?Thank you!

Hello, one of our customer want to move away from the Exchange Compliance Archive and the “Offline Contenten Indexing” as a Search Engine infrastructur.The new solution will be the ContentStore Mail Server - SMTP.The customer is planing to recall/restore all old mails from the old archiv into the “new” Client to also remove all the old entries of long retiered systems. Another Painpoint is, the old Search Engine hit the next limit (more then 100M object) and it would require a new Node to be added.Is there any way, to restore the data directly onto the ContentStore Mail Server, or do we need to have the messages restored into the exchange server and push them from there into the Contentstore Mail Server?Or am I missing any other Option for the migration steps?Kind RegardsJoerg

Citrix has been markedly ignoring any feature requests that have been made towards needed functions.XCP-ng is growing, has an active community, bugtracker and developers but yet it has a small ecosystem of large enterprise backup solutions like Commvault.I really would like to switch over, use that plattform and support them by that - but yet Commvaults supportlist denies that.XCP-ng also uses XAPI and should be very closed for whatever Commvault comes in tough with.A while ago I just tried feeding it with XCP-ng, but it denied it as an unkown or unsupported Version.Regards - Christof

Hi everyone, I have live sync enabled between two comm cells “Active and Passive”. DB maintenance haven’t run since around 2 years. the workflow is disabled unfortunately.  I need to run the command dbmaintenance -full on the active server. Shall I disable the live sync before running the command? Do I need to run the same command on the passive commcell server as well? Thanks in advance

Hello,We want to make Hardware Refresh for Media Agent.After install new Media Agent on new server with Windows Server 2019 Standard everything goes well. In CommServe MA is ready.After add LUNs from disk storage for bakups still everything goes well.But after add LUNs from other disk storage with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline in CommServe with offline reason:"The MediaAgent if offline is initialising and refreshing the device information"And this state cannot be repaired with:- reboot system and services- repair software- delete LUNs with VMFS datastores and after that all of aboveOnly after deleteed LUNs with VMFS datastores, full delete MA and new installation, MA gone ready.But if we again adding LUNs with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline again. Selective copy - Last Full backup Of the Month to be selected for Aux copyExample: for the month of march, scheduled Monthly Full backup is at March 31st 11:30PM, somehow if this backup get failed, as per below selective copy logic.. it will select the previous[March 23rd/24/25/26/27/28/29/30th ...etc] Full backup as Monthly backup.But actually, If the Full backup failed on 31st March… i need a logic for monthly backup as next/ subsequent Full backup to be taken as Monthly Backup [i.e ...April 1st/2nd/3rd …. Full backup]?How to get this logic?  

Hello,We are running commvault 11.28.52 and currently testing the PostgtreSQL Agent. In our testing environment, we have two PostgreSQL 12 Servers running as a cluster with one Primary active server and one standby server. The servers are Linux-based VMs.We are performing backups and restores from the primary server. However, every time we restore the DB from the FSBasedBackupSet, the replication between the nodes stops working. What are the Best Practices for FsBased cluster restore and how to perform restore correctly from this backupset?

The process of setting retention to half what is actually required, combined with the periodic sealing of the DDB seems clunky, and results in significantly higher storage usage - can we expect any improvements to that process?Where an existing block is referenced during an operation, could it be more efficient to just extend the Object Lock retention for the associated S3 Object?

Hi Team,i request you to help me with below error i observed during my 7 x Apollo server HSX installation in DC1 site. i downloaded the ISO from commvault site to my local system and transferred to DC2 windows jump server and successfully installed in DC2 site on 7 x HPE Apollo Servers .Later i transferred the ISO to DC1 jumb server and also have verified that all HW configurations in DC1 servers are as per HSX documentation, but when i start installation on HPE apollo servers, i get below error, please help !
