Hi.I have a configuration writing to VAST Data S3 cloud library with Object lock and WORM storage lock enabled.The DDB is scheduled to be sealed periodically as per the WORM storage lock configuration.Storage Pool Copy settings is as below:Retail for - 90 daysCreate new DDB every - 90 daysWORM lock - 180 days I have two libraries configured like this and both experience the same thing.First time round the DDBs were sealed and new ones was created about 90 days later. This time round over 100 days have passed but the DDBs have yet to be sealed per schedule. What could be preventing the DDBs from being sealed?Can or should they be sealed manually? What impact will this have on the scheduled sealing? Cheers.Ignes

For the Office 365 and Sharepoint Online solution type, in the Azure storage account key, enter the account key. What is “the Azure storage account” for a MSP with multiple customers in their own tenants?What limitation if not used? RegardsDaniel

Hi Community,I am testing One touch Windows BMR recovery. My physical sever has 8 NICs and link to commserve is connected on the 3rd NIC card.When i boot 1-touch WinPE ISO, it shows only 2 first NICs. I tried also adding network drivers on ISO using this method but still same issue.https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/adding_windows_drivers_for_nic_and_mass_storage_devices.htmlCan the 1-touch WinPE show all the NICs or only 2 NICs?Or i am not correctly adding drivers to the ISO?Can anyone help me on this please.Thank you.Best Regards 

i have got 3 x HPE Apollo nodes, which i want to deploy Hyperscale X, as per below Commvault Hyperscale X  reference architecture document , we should validate version of hyperscaleX in the "preparing environment step". i dont understand how we can check version when we don’t have installed ISO yet on the server.my understand is, we install hyperscale X ISO on baremetal server, and this ISO also contains RHEL.https://documentation.commvault.com/2024/expert/checking_hyperscale_software_version_for_reference_architecture.html. Also , as per below link of “Setting Up the Installation Media”, if i directly mount ISO on each Server A,B,C and then when i start installation on server A, it will also start installation in Server B, C automatically or i need to manually login to Se

in the Commvault Security Assessment report, the item “Requires user authentication for installing agents” says:Authentication is not requiredCommvault recommends you enable this settingWhere do i do this? The “How to Change this setting” link goes to http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=8077.htm which seems to just tell you how to authenticate while installing a client, not how to enforce the setting on the Commcell?I have the 11.28/2022E version.

Hi thereWe have Commvault 11.28.102 and have just added a tape library.Under STORAGE\Tape I managed to add the tape, but when I go to slots I can see there that my brand new Tape is marked as Bad Media and the reason that I got is Write Protected.Please advise.Thank you

Hi Vaulters, Hope everyone is doing good. In our backup infra, we have a dedicated backup NAS storage array, in which deduplication will be enabled (Commvault Deduplication will not be used). Since it is a NAS, we intended to use it as our export location for our CommServe DR backup and also as our main Disk Library/Mount Path for the CommServeDR storage policy. We read somewhere in the documentation that deduplication for CommServeDR is not recommended and should not be enabled in CommVault. Does that also imply storage Deduplication ? If so, does this impact for the DUMP export or Storage Policy copy or both ? We’d love to get more details regarding this. As our NAS is only configured with one single shared FileSystem with Dedup enabled. Kinf regards.

Hello,I created a selective copy that shoud copy yearly Fulls to tape. it is scheduled to be executed on January 2025 to copy the last fulls of December 2024 But something is not clear for me. Based on the configuration and what I understand,all the last full backups that will be performed on December 2024 should be copied to tape at launch via the schedule policy. Hi, Our MySQL DB admin has removed some transactions logs from DB side. No we recieve following error in incremental backup. our full backup is a snap backup. So after the full, incremental are also failing with the same error. what we can do to fix this without purging logs from D side ? Really appreciate the help at this point.

Hi Team, The Library of Storage Policy Copy, which I marked in the red frame in the screenshot below, will be closed. For this reason, we need to move the data to the "Private Cloud Library" that we have just created."Private Cloud Library" is not listed as Storage Pool when creating new Storage Policy Copy. There are already 2 Storage Policy Copy attached from "Private Cloud Library".The question is: How can I add a Storage Policy Copy with different retention addressing the same Library? Is there a limitation?If I can't get past this, is there any suggestion on how I can move the data?

Hello,Our customer is currently backing up a large CIFS share using another backup solution once a month. The solution has been configured to do the incremental forever with 7 years retention. The backup lands on diskpool and migrate to tape as last resting location. After the backup completion tapes send to vault. How can we mimic same method with Commvault with a tape library.  There is no disk to tape migration neither incremental forever without doing any synthetics full with Commvault.I thought best approach might be listed what do you think?Define a NAS client  with CIFS credentialsRun a manual full backup to Tape library using maximum amount of drives with multiple streaming.Define a monthly schedule as to directly tape library as target Set basic retention 2555 days 1 cycle.Maybe once a year run a synthetic full just for precaution (!)This still lack of disk to tape migration but at least similar to current solution.

I have on prem vmware which need to be replicated to azure and we have regular backup set for all the vm’s.I have a media agent and storage in azure confgurued. I added azure in commserv using managed identity.i created replication group and selected periodic replication and in the target i selected the added azure vm hypervisor. It asked me to select a access node so i chose the media agent in azure for that.Now the replication is failing bcoz i can see its trying to backup using the of media agent in azure and it doesnt have access to on prem vm.i selected access node as auto still same, why the target access node being used to backup production vm. what i need is the backup of on prem vm should use on prem access node to backup and whatever operation in the azure side should use azure vm access nodeis this possible?do i need use orchestrated replication in this case ?

Hello. I’ve been doing a lot of reading, I’ve seen the threads on here and I’ve read the architecture guide but I am still a little puzzled as to what I actually need to configure.I would like to apply WORM in the Commcell and object-lock in S3IA.I believe objects will be aged from the bucket when the DDB seals periodically.  This happens at the same period as the policy copy retentionI still don’t quite understand why bucket object retention has to be set to twice the policy copy retention.I also can’t work out if I need to add a lifecycle config rule and set the  non current version expiration to 2 days.  I know this needs to be done for none object-locked buckets that don’t have versioning enabled, but an object-locked bucket does.  Does anyone else use worm and ol, what are your configs?  Do you see issues where the size that Commvault reports is not the same as the actual bucket size due to objects not expiring?
