Hi all,Can someone help me with this error:Failed to install Base Package. Failed to access remote registrySource: commvault, Process: DistributeSoftwareError code was 68:182I want to install CV agent on new Windows server 2019  from our CV console. I read that I need to allow WMI users right access (its standard Admin user account with full rights), even I added our domain admin on WMI access list - SAME ERRORThen I read I need to start Remote Registry service  - its started and SAME ERRORThen I disabled Firewall and that machine - SAME ERRORWhat can be a problem?Thanks 

Hi All,how can we monitor when the discover process did not run? The Backup job is showing everything is good but in the backround the discover mailbox process faile. 

I am backing up a cluster, but each cluster drive has its own subclientAll the other drives on their own subclient are backing up fine.There are 2 errors I see.Process(72) - Could not get SIDB folders; cannot exclude SIDB folders from this backupERROR CODE [17:49]: Failed to further divide the collect files. Possible reasons: nonexistent path/file, hardware problems or full disk.The job for the cluster subclient run for over 30 hours before failing.The check readiness indicates there is no error on the sublient,Anyone have ideas on what logs I should look at the find the root cause.

Hi Commvault gurus,I have a couple of simple questions regarding the tapes:When moving a tape manually to Export location, (right click on the tape -> EXPORT media -> marked New Outside Storage Location -> OK), is the tape travelling via I/E by default? I am asking because in CV, there are No Items to display under I/E Ports tab. Could it mean that CV cant see any I/E ports? However, the move to Export location has been succesfull. Secondly, I would like to be sure, if it is possible to move a tape with unaged data from Export location back to the library in the Commvault gui. Under options when right clicked on the tape I didnt see option Move to Library. Is it necessary to wait for data to be aged?

We are implementing Azure NetApp Files (ANF). Primarily we are looking to use ANF for SMB storage.We have an ExpressRoute between our on-premises Media Agents and Azure.Reviewing the documentation online, there seems to be limited support for ANF using CommVault Agents. Hi all!My company, using six MA to create and store backups. One MA with a separated storage for long term retention outside, and an another one for create local backups on a branch office site. On the main site there are four MA in two node grids. MA1 & MA2 is a grid and MA3 & MA4 is an another. They are sharing their libraries and DDBs.From the branch office, local backups are copied to the main site and main backups are copied to long term site as DR backups. MAs are physical on main site and virtual on others, and disk storages are used on all sites.Currently, we are planing to change our disk storages and physical MAs on main site. And of course, it is a good chance to upgrade OS on MAs from Win2012R2 to Win2019. During the process, library content should be moved from the old disk storage to the new one, and DDBs from old MA to new. Hi Guys,First time poster here so hopefully I have completed everything correctly.I am trying to do a Full Backup for 2 Clients in my Environment but the ‘Full’ Backup option is greyed out like so:I can confirm that all Incremental and Synthetic Full jobs are completing absolutely fine with no errors and that ‘Enable Backup’ etc. is also selected in the properties of each:Can anyone advise what may be the issue here? Curious, does anyone have cohesity setup as a file share. Using Commvault NAS agent to protect CIFS shares over SMB. What performance are you getting and or running into any issues. 

My OneDrive backups are configured to use my Tier 3 Prod (“other” production) storage policy which has a 14 day retention for all backups and a 1 year retention for monthly backup.Today I noticed that a coworker named Simon who moved on to greener pastures more than a year ago still appears in the list of clients when I do a Browse and Restore search on OneDrive users within the CommVault java GUI.  The Backup Time reported for Simon’s files falls within the weekly synthetic full backup that runs Saturday nights.I thought there might have been a failure to clean up Azure but when I check admin.microsoft.com, Simon does not appear as an active, guest, or deleted user.  I checked with my O365 administrator and Simon’s files appear to have been properly deleted.I don’t understand why his files are still appearing within the CommVault backups.  Shouldn’t his OneDrive files have expired by now?  Ken

Hi All.I have a DDB on a Linux Media Agent running in Azure. The “CommServe Job Records to be Deleted” is very high and reporting as Critical in the Command Center Health Report.I have confirmed that the Storage Policies associated to this DDB is enabled for Data Aging. Physial pruning is also enabled on the DDB.When running Data Aging to this specific DDB/Copy there is no entry in the MediaManagerPrune log on the CommServe for this DDB ID. All the other DDBs are listed.There is also no SIDBPhysicalDeletes log file on the MA.I have checked the jobs and no jobs are retained past the retention period.Any idea what would cause the records to remain on this DDB?Let me know if you require any additional information that could assist.Thank you.Ignes 

Hi All,I am trying to automate the commvault setup, configuration and backup/restore procedure in our environment. We have chosen python sdk (cvpysdk) to do automation. I am not able to find any module for media agent installation in cvpysdk. Can anyone please please help me with the workaround? Even a CLI would help for automation. I am doing all the setip on windows client, hence need the cli/module for windows setup/configuration. Thanks in advance.

I installed SQL 2008 agents on a cluster. After installing on both servers, I see the servers on the console but not in the Command Center. And I don't see the instances on the console. Can you help me? Thanks Sorry for my english

Hey All, one question regarding the SQL Log backup.  We had 2 SPs  SPDB → FullSPlog → translog We are running every 10 minuts log backups and every 15 minuts auxcopy. The split is needed because after the full db backup the auxcopy take a long time. That we have the logs in DC2 we splited that the auxcopy for both SPs can run at the same time.  No we have the problem when 1 DB is converded to diff that the Hole job will associated to the SPDB SP.  Exampel: Server 1: DB1 / Recovery modus FullDB2 / Recovery Modus SimpleDB3 / Recovery Modus Full When the Backup job started it goes to SPlog when the second dbs runs the hole job is rerouted to SPDB.  Is there any possibility to prevent ths ? Yes i can create an new subclient for all dbs with simple recovery modus… But what happend when the dba create a new one.

It works for users without Exchange Public Folders in use, but fails for the ones using that feature. Documentation is not entirely clear for me in that matter:https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/93792_assigning_permissions_to_online_service_accounts.htmlFor public folders, service account should have owner permission at the root level (all public folder). For public folder backup and restore, the service account must have impersonation and view-only permissions.I don’t understand the difference, is granting the owner optional and when someone doesn’t want to grant that high permission then, the lower “impersonation” and “view-only” must be in place

Dear all,what does it happen when an auxiliary copy job is suspended and then resumed?I know this sounds like a strange question but comes from the following experience. We have auxiliary copy jobs that take a long time to be completed and often they are still running when new content is added.In this case (new content added) the values of Total Data to Process, Number of Readers in use and Current Throughput are not updated in the Job Controller and, even more serious, they remain the original ones for a long time.If I suspend the aux copy job and resume it right after, all the values are recalculated, a much higher number of Readers are allocated and the aux copy goes much faster.Is this normal? I mean, I expected that the load resources were recalculated periodically but it looks like it doesn’t happen. Thank you in advance for your helpGaetano

In our environments we install a restore-only agent on all systems and we use application discovery to deploy application agents automatically. This works pretty well and Commvault automatically starts creating backups through the attached server plan. But besides that the automatic appliation discovery installs and configures application agents it also activates and enabled the FS agent. In case you also use VSA level backups it results in a backup of the file-system being created twice and unwanted impact on application performance. So my question is pretty straightforward: can you prevent the FS agent becoming configured once application discovery pushes out the application agents?
