I have a customer who has configured a new 4 node Windows Cluster. Everything looks in order on it, but the SQL instances aren’t being discovered when creating a cluster pseudo client. The SQL instances aren’t being discovered at a client level either. SQL permissions for Commvault are all correct.I can run a File level backup at a node level so I know all connectivity is OK.The Commvault Cluster Process on the nodes won’t start up which would explain the SQL instances not being discovered. In Windows Cluster Manager, all nodes and roles look to be healthy, but the Cluster Events have a large amount of the below errors. There is a fix for it, which the customer is busy with at the moment.My question is, would the below error cause the Commvault Cluster process to not start or is that a separate issue?I would have expected to at least have SQL instances discovered at a node level? 

Hi all,In the 2024E release I read something about migrating data from other backup vendors to Commvault. Unfortunately this can only be done for file ystem data (the the moment). Is there a plan to migrate other data (databases, VM's) too? That would be a complete solution when a customer wants to migrate from another vendor to CommvaultHopefully we have some information on this! Thanks in advance for the answerKind regards,Henk

Hello Commvault Community, We have an environment that is based on several data centers in different locations around the world. Aux Copy performs correctly and on the fly, while I would like to ask if there is any way to speed up this process? The situation is as follows: In general, latency between sites is generally high, about 25-30ms, throughput is somewhere between 20-50gb/hr for AuxCopy jobs, sometimes faster. Is it not possible to split such AuxCopy into more minor sub-jobs? If more streams are used in parallel, latency will be less of a problem. We have already studied the topic of Scalable Resource Allocation, but here this Batch Size will not help us, because here isn’t a large number of jobs to be copied and we are concerned only with improving the performance of this process.  Thank you in advance for your help on this topic.Kind RegardsKamil

Hi All,Currently we backup Oracle 19c Database using Commvault and size DB full backup around 65 TB.For daily incremental , we enable block change tracking for fast backup duration. This oracle run in Red Hat OS.My Question:1-How to restore the oracle DB when block change tracking enable ? it is required any additional setting need to do during restoration activity?2- Its is required to backup change block tracking file? and its use during restore?3- Method to restore : Full > Incremental > Archive log right?4-Any Knowledge Based (KB) or URL from Commvault can we refer?Thanks and Help Me.

Hello, I want to use PowerBI to retrieve data from Commvault Cloud SaaS plateform but even after reading the documentation from API portal and tried to connect to the URL with a specific user I didn’t make it work.Does anyone already use a custom query into PowerBI to get access to Commvault platform through API ?I don’t need help about transforming the data but just to understand how to connect to the API it seems that there is no token, I need to use a username and password to my metallic.io URL but it’s unfortunately not clear. Thanks for your help. Benjamin

Hi all!could you advice me how to troubleshoot following types of error: Error Code: [13:138] Description: Error occurred while processing chunk [xxx] in media [xxx], at the time of error in library [disklib01] and mount path [[xxx] /srv/commvault/disklib01/xxx], for storage policy [XXX] copy [Xxx] MediaAgent [svma1]: Backup Job [xxx]. Unable to setup the copy pipeline. Please check connectivity between Source MA [svma1] and Destination MA [svma1].  At a glance, it seems that it is not possible for CV to process chunk from the (index?)/disk library...However, the issue is connected with storage policy copy, that moves data from the disk library to the tape library (secondary copy). The main problem for us is that it is not possible to copy data to the tapes. Therefore, it may say Unable to setup the copy pipeline. Hello,We would like to upgrade our CommVault installation 11.25 to latest 11.32 release.Is it possible to make a direct upgrade ?  When i try to download the software from GUI Console, the latest feature release that can i choose is 11.26 ? I cannot choose 11.32 in the list. What can i do to obtain the latest release from Gui commvault console ?  Is it necessary to upgrade to 11.26 and after to 11.32 ?  We use SQL Server 2016, is there an automatic ugrade to SQL 2019 including in the 11.32 installer ? Thanks

Hi We have two site main DC and DR site and I want to replicate a vm from DC to DR and we have mediaagent on both site.What is happening right now is when replication happen it first take backup (dedupe) and then restore from backup to DR site and while restoring process full vm original size and it is choking the bandwidthThen i take the call with support and he suggested to check the “replicate using secondary copy option” and choose DR mediaagent as storage in secondary copyNow when replication trigger it first take backup in main DC site then aux copy trigger from DC  to DR site then replication happen but it still restoring the vm from main DC not DR. Can anyone help here?

Im trying to restore a Windows 2012 server that was backed up on an old vmware VCENTER. I am getting the error Error Code 23:10 Error while reading pipeline buffer from MediaAgent (commvault.com) - How can I “Change the network adapter of the virtual machine to vmxnet3” on a server that is backed up? During the restore, I change the vcenter to the new vcenter using the same datastore, ESX and Media Agent servers. It fails almost right away. Is there another way to get the backup? 

I’ve been tasked with upgrading our Commserve from v9.0.0 R2 to v11.32. Is there any specific upgrade path or can I jump directly to v11.32?  TIA

So for the last couple weeks, we've been seeing an add error ("Mount Error") with our media agent and its fiber connected drives:  Media Label:  CV_MAGNETICFailure Reason:  "A file with the same name already exists.  Cannot create a new file"Information:  We have new equipment on order to replace this server.  But for the moment, we have an 8 gib fiber connection to carry everything in and out of this system (IP traffic, fiber connected drives (25+).  It's pretty clear to me that the pipe is full.  But, we've never seen this issue before.  Unfortuantely, it doesn’t have an error code, it appears to be a straight up “hey, something’s wrong with your datastore where you save I’ve got a ticket in regarding the error.  Anyone else have any clues about how we should look at this?  I”m not sure which log to start with as there isn’t an error code to start me off.

Hello !There are many helpful links and docs about VSA Indexing v1 to v2 migration, requirements and post-migration tasks.. But as of now, I have not yet found the answer to my question regarding my environment.  We have a single VMWare VCenter, lets call it VCENTER.This single VCENTER server manages multiple locations, like USA, CANADA, INDIA, etc.., where each time we have a corresponding VMWare Datacenter, with ESXes, VMs we need to backup, and MAs. In our Commvault environment so far, for internal reasons, I have created a VMWare Pseudo client for each location, like :VCENTER-USAVCENTER-CANADAVCENTER-INDIA Each point to the same VCENTER, but the VSA configuration for proxies, SPs and target VMs to backup are different as they’re pointing to the servers for each location.They were all created using indexing v1.So far I can only migrate using the indexing v1 to v2 workflow.

 Hello. I'm facing a critical weird issue with oracle RACs backup.we have 24 RAC, we do a daily full backup without any issues. we decided to change the backup strategy due to the massive growth of the databases, so we changed the schedules to be weekly full, daily incremental (cumulative)  and hourly logs.once i changed the schedule policy some of the racs incremental backups was failing due to the below error  Error Code: [19:599]Description: Loss of control process ClOraAgent. Possible causes: 1. The control process has unexpectedly died. Check crash dump or core file. 2. The communication to the control process machine might have gone down due to network errors. 3.
