Hi, I want to know if there is a procedure when we want to migrate an existing hyperscale X to an existing commserve? Regards

HiWe want to be able to scale better but we need to still utilize our existing SANs as storageso as far as I can read we have two optionsSAN Data Server NAS box in front of our SAN (HNAS or something like that) I would to hear from people who use SAN Data Server what is your setup like and have you found any problems that I need to consider before going that route?  We have fiber channel connection from all MediaAgent to SAN today so we only need to buy a server and put the QLogic cards in then the infrastructure should be in place..Best regardsBjarke 

I need to set up cloud backup retention according to the following criteria- the last 7 daily backups- the last 5 weekly backups- the last 5 monthly backups (end of month)- the last 2 yearly backups (year end)Is it OK the way I think it is set? I kindly ask for your assistance.Thanks a lotCarmine

Hello,I have Commvault server  simpana version 11.28.68, and a few Virtual machines (VMWare).I have a problem with browse specific file from this Virtual machines from backup which is on Tape library.I read that live browse is not allowed for simpana version 11.28.68 and index version2. We wanted to move backups of clients with disk library from one commserve to another and would like to continue the backups to the same disk library on new commserve. How can we achieve this?

Hi Everyone,We have multiple commserve’s available, in one of the commserve when I tried to execute below SQL query to fetch the data it’s taking more than 7 mins to complete where environment is smaller in size. Which Commvault Jobs feed that log? Dear all, I need some help, the client is requesting an automated process for installing agents in commvault, so that on boot he can call this through a package configuration or something like that so that as soon as he starts the VM everything goes up the automatic installation, does commvault have any process of this type? It also needs this configuration for the commserver and media agents. Does the commvault tool have this type of automation?

Hello,we got several LTO4 Tapes from a customer to recover files from it. The IT-Department doesn’t exist anymore and the contact person has no clue about anything. We successful imaged 2 Tapes an in the first sector we saw “CommVault Media Label… CommVault Systems Galaxy” Entrys. What brings me here. ;-)How can we restore files from the tapes, what do we need. Thanks in advance.

hi , i have done the vmware application validation ,and its working , but i wonder how to select which storage policy copy it should validate it from ,i have prodcution site and DR site , and i want the backup validation happen from the secondary copy of Storage policy is there anyway i can select the copy precedence during the app validation

I’ve been asked by the company lawyer to recover an email.  I can go into Compliance Search, specify the user in the FROM area, enter a search term and find the desired email.  So far so good.  Next I select Export to > PST > and enter a file name.  My question is:  Where does this file go?  It’s not in the Downloads folder of my local drive or anywhere on my local machine.  It’s not on the CommVault web server and not anywhere on the CommServer either.  So… any ideas?Ken

vmware client is configured and hyperscal x media agents are added as the proxy , we are using san mode and hyperscal x having visibility to datastore,our commserver or Media agent doesnt have intellisnap installednow we are setting up intellisnap for one subclient - array has added ,array config - added 3 hyperscal x media agent as access nodes -snapshot properties - we dont have any media agent in local host , do i need select remote snapshot MA and select hyperscal nodes ? in this case any additional package need to install . since media agent has visibility to datastore i belvi it ll be proxyless backup . but we having error . i have add the log

Hi,I have an environment with a CommServe and six Media Agents. Now, we have been asked to add a new environment to our existing CommServe. However, we are unable to establish a direct connection between the two environments. As a solution, we have decided to use two Media Agents from the existing six as proxy gateways.These two Media Agents have interfaces that reside in the existing environment, and we have connected another interface to the new environment. We have also configured network pairing and added the clients to the hosts file.The problem arises when we try to add a new client (SLES 11 + Oracle). The process fails with the attached error.Could anyone help us identify the missing configuration?
