Hello,I try to migrate from Storage Policies and Schedule Policies to PlansIf I use CommandCenter to create Plans as substitue of exsting Storage Policies, I can decide whether to keep the first or the last backup for extended retention.But I’m missing the definition for the Start of Period (like 3rd day of month or monady in case of a week).The Plan automatic is set to 1st day of month and friday for weekly period.has the start of period option been removed from future configuration options ?If I start with 11.34 today, I would not be able to modify this or even see the current settingsrgdsKlaus

Hi,I’m currently migrating from StoragePolicies and SchedulePolicies to Plans, as required for new installation beginning with Commvault 2024 (11.34).In the past I requested the backup copy to be started within the same schedule as the backup.if many subclients / VM Groups are triggered at the same time, the backupcopy is started immediatly or queued until free streams are available.If I use the standard asynchronous method, the backup copies are processed per Storage Policy, Jobs to copy are determined at start time of the backup copyjob and do not automatically add new backups, that are finished during time of execution to the backup copy job list. This results in a higher time needed to complete backup + backup copy operations.I cannot find this option in the plans, I created.I’m also missing the option to throttle the amount of paralell backup operations for a client, which I used to simplify the scheduling without overloading the client.Is there an equivalent option available in t

Hello,Can i add more then 1 syslog server to the commserve?We send alerts to splunk with a a syslog server , another team needs us to send them audit trails and i dont want to overflow the splunk with alerts and audit trails , can i can another siem connector to somehow divide the data? 

Hello!  I find myself once more confused about the partner types and partner badges for Commvault, as used in https://www.commvault.com/partners/find The badges for individuals are listed in https://www.credly.com/organizations/commvault/badges, but not those for companies.  I see there Aggregator, Distributor, Managed Service Provider, and Solution provider as types of partners, and I can’t tell which does which.And the badges don’t seem very self-explanatory to me either. Service Advantage and Service Advantage Plus probably mean second level support, as contrasted to CASP? What does the “plus” mean though?And CASP seems to be first level support? And then it’s sorted again in four tiers? What do these four tiers mean though…?

Hi All, subclient SUB1 with VM1 use storage policy P1 storage policy P1 retention 7 days 1 cycle with disk library DL1 manual execute subclient SUB1 backup on 2 Jul 2024 successful 12 Jul 2024 we check storage policy P1 > View > Jobs, unselect time range but cannot see the job history subclient SUB1 backup on 2 Jul 2024 12 Jul 2024 right click subclient SUB1 > Backup History, can see the backup job on 2 Jul 2024 check Storage Resources > Libraries > DL1 > Mount Path > View Contents, can see VM1 backup data on 2 Jul 2024 not Aged  Q1: why the storage policy P1 cannot see the the job history subclient SUB1 backup on 2 Jul 2024? Q2: since the Storage policy P1 cannot see the job history subclient SUB1 backup on 2 Jul 2024, if create aux copy and select Backup period Start and End Time 2 Jul 2024, will data copy to tape? when i try to backup ActiveIQ mysql DB with the Mysql agent it seems like everything works.When i try to restore the MySQL server the job fails with "cannot start restore program on host (xxx.xxx.xxx.xx 8400*8402) - network error occurred or the products services are not running".The MySQL services are running and there is no firewall between the commserve and the mysql server.

I've been in IT since the early 90s with a focus on SAN, NAS and Object storage, but I'm relatively new to Commvault administration and engineering.I've recently joined a team tasked with migrating our backup environment to new hardware, including Nutanix. While I'm eager to learn, the lack of existing architecture planning and the potential for misconfiguration have me concerned (most of the CV people we have are admin not engineers). So we are creating custom packages and upload it in the download center.For windows machines, no problem we can access to the web and download the package.But the linux machine where we have only CLI, is there any magic commands to download the package from the download center directly? Thank you in advance.

Even though the content is already there when browsing the contentCan't Synology backup use a NAS client? One of my MS SQL database backups keeps on running for entire day, but the progress is 0% and sometimes it completes after making some failed attempts and sometimes it fails completely. when I checked the error message under the failed attempt it says. "Error encountered when closing the virtual device. Please see SQL Server vdi.log for more details." I have already shared the logs with CommVault support. However, I was checking the event logs related to VDI on the server and found attached alert. can this be the issue. RegardsAmit

Hello,Our company use 1 MA on each site, they have 4 sites.each physical MA has some dedup Databases.We plan a hardware refresh with 2 MA on each site (gridstor mode) in the same we plan to migrate our backup storage from DAS to NAS.What is the better approach to perform the refresh with less complexitybuild the new MAs move Index and DDB to the new MA connect new Storage libraries to the new MA On existing Storage policies, create a synchronous copy that point the the new MA and new libraries promote the secondary copy to primary decommission the old MAThnaks for the help!

Hi guys, I have a question, i will backup database oracle ,  the  oracle on windows server when i try backup show the error result “Error while backing up Oracle Database. Error Details [Found File [C:\Windows\system32\ORASBT.dll]: Please rename this file so that Oracle can load Galaxy Installed Library [C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Base\ORASBT.dll] for Backup/Restore.]. Please check the logs.”  what do I need to change in the library?

when i try to restore a mysql server it fails with " restore failed cannot drop table 'event' referenced by foreign key constraint ", does it mean i need to manually drop all the foreigns keys?
