Dear Team, Good day!We currently have a physical server that is acting as both the CommServe and MediaAgent on a Windows platform.We are planning to migrate the entire CommServe role to a Windows-based virtual machine. Additionally, the same physical server will be reconfigured with a Linux operating system to function as a MediaAgent.At present, the disk library mount paths are configured on DAS (Direct Attached Storage) connected to the existing physical server. We would like guidance on how to perform this migration seamlessly, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing backup and restore operations. Regards,Mani D  

The master server is currently using v11 sp14,I'm trying to install the client redhat 9.7 version, but can't I support it? If not, which version of sp can I support it from?

Good afternoon everyone.I have a question regarding a complete environment update. In this environment, there's a machine running Commserve and MediaAgent. It previously had version 11.32.122 and was updated to 11.32.80. When I check communication with this machine (performing a Readiness Check), it indicates that the Web Server and Command Center are not ready. However, the software programs open when I try to open them. Is this normal after an update, or am I missing some configuration steps?I've attached screenshots of the situation. I would greatly appreciate your help.Thanks.  

Dear Experts,I am experiencing an issue when trying to access the support.commvault.com portal.Using the username, password, and Commvault Verification Code allows me to log in, but I am immediately logged out after authentication.I am currently using Linux Ubuntu and the Chromium web browser.Could you please help me resolve this problem? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hey,I was wondering if the VSA Proxy on VMware could have a Storage Accelerator role, so it could write directly to, for example, Flash Blade S3? "So, read data using Hot-Add, then write it to the S3 bucket and send only the metadata to the Media Agent/DDB.

Via MS TEAMS >Workflows>Manage I’ve created a workflow called Send Webhook Alerts to a Channel and copied the URL created. I’ve then go to Commvault Command Center>Manage>systems and created a Webhook and provided a name and used the copied URL. I’ve then sent a test alert from Commvault to the webhook however the status of the Webhook in Commvault remains in red with error he status 401 Unauthorized with the message{"error":{"code":"AuthorizationFailed","message":"The authentication credentials are not valid."}}I’m not providing any credentials. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. 

  Dears,I am trying to add a standalone Hyper-V host (not joined to a domain) into Commvault, but I am facing issues with the credentials during the hypervisor configuration.The Hyper-V host is not part of the domain, so I entered the hostname, local administrator username, and password.I also added the Hyper-V host and Commvault server entries to the hosts file on all related servers.However, the system fails during the connection and validation process.Below is the exact error message:Failed to connect to virtual machine host [CommvaultSVR.xxxxxxxxxxx.com] as user [.\Administrator] from access node [commvaultsvr]. Please ensure that the access node is able to communicate with the host and that the user account and password are correct.I would appreciate your assistance in identifying why the access node cannot authenticate to the standalone Hyper-V host and how to resolve this credential/communication issue.Thank you.

Hello, I’m curious how others are doing this or what Commvault recommends. For our Windows-based mediaagents, the DDB disk is actually 4 SSDs that are plugged into a Dell PERC, specifically an H740P, and then in the Dell hardware management, iDRAC, we configured a single SCSI disk out of RAID-5 for those SSDs, and so that’s what Windows actually sees. I was just wondering if Commvault has any opinions on setting up the DDB on SSDs when going through a hardware-level obfuscation like this, or whether Commvault believes that there would be a noticeable change or improvement to performance, if the SSDs were natively exposed to the OS and managed that way.

Hi All, we are actually fighting with the deployment of the Nutanix Image with 11.36 . We downloaded the image from here: Nutanix Image with 11.36 During the deployment we tried to add custom script like frel: CS_IP_OR_FQDN=commserve_host CS_SHORT_NAME=commserve_client_name CS_USERNAME=user_name  CS_PASSWORD=password FREL_CLIENTNAME=client_name ROOT_PASSWORD=Password Without success.  If we rolloutthe image without script we cant login.  In the docu i dont find anything for accessnode only stuff for frel. Do you have an idear for nutanix ahv access node deployment ?

Hello, I am using live sync with a commserve production on site1 and commserve dr on site 2 The commserve DR is performed on a nas share. For now, only a test failover have peen performed.We want to perform a production failover soon.when we will initiate a production failover,  what about the new commserve DR jobs ? They will be written to the nas share right ? There will be no conflict about existing dr folder SET XXX ?And What about the failback ? thanks      

Hi Commvault CommnuityWe are doing a POC installing Commcell 11.40.X on Linux. The Linux distribution is RHEL 9.6. After installing Commvault, the installation seems to be successful, but when we run “systemctl status commvault”, we see the following error messages:The first error message appears in “dotnet CVAuditService This log file is not found in the internal list”  Looking at the logs, it seems that it’s unable to start MongoDB.CVAuditService.log “Failed to connect to MongoDB client [localhost]]]. Hi,Quick question.Currently running version 11.32.xWhen using Java client we can select how many number of streams the restore should use, or to preserve or remove source path.When using web command center for the restore, those options are not available. the only thing we can chose is the destination server, path, ACLs and unconditional overwrite.Is there a way to have the option to preserver or remove source path when using web command center?  

hello guys,first time deploying commvault with nutanix AHV, after deploying the qcow2 frel image the process doesn’t seem to take the deployment script :CS_IP_OR_FQDN=commserve.domain.localCS_SHORT_NAME=CommServeClientNameCS_USERNAME=adminCS_PASSWORD=YourPasswordFREL_CLIENTNAME=FREL-AHV01ROOT_PASSWORD=StrongRootPassw0rd!i want to precise that as of now the vm does not take an ip, ipam or dhcp is not configured. root password is not applied, so can’t access the vm, tried to reset it using rd.break or other methods without any success, what’s frustrating is that i have no point that i can use to start troubleshooting.using CV 11.40AHV FREL 11.36

Every time I log into Command Center the main menu (top left hamburger) is always minimized. I tested this on Chrome and Edge. I’m running Commvault 11.36.72. Is there any way to change the default behavior so that the menu is expanded by default? Having to click that hamburger every time is quite annoying, and I don’t think my brain is ever going to associate the icons with their intended meanings.Thanks 

I have inherited a Commvault setup running mainly on Nutanix (A little VMware) spread across 3 sites, unfortunately the 1 person that knows this setup was laid off.  I am looking for a way to identify all the Commvault infrastructure across all sites.  I think I have the server names, but not necessarily all the services installed.I am new to Commvault, still stumbling around the interface….Any pointing to docs on how, powershell scripts, ??? appreciated.Thanks Tim

We'd like to change model license of Commvault from "Per frontent (TB)" to per VM due to protection data has been changed and we considering license per Frontend is not fit for those clients data usage anymore. Please kindly suggest method to a smooth and less effort to change commvault license and transfering data to the new license CCID.We're not sure that we need to setup new Commserve server and MA or we can easily replace license key in Commserve and upgrade version of CommServe and agents in clients.
