v11.22.57 has reached end of life. I’m looking for some help on where to go from here. Here is the response from CV support:“We have version 11.24 which is a long-term feature Release and the latest 11.26 which is a short-term feature release.”I took a look at the newsletter for new features and they both have some good stuff. I’m wondering if anyone has any good or bad experience from upgrading from 11.22.57 to 11.24 or 11.26?Thanks 

Hey All, maybe you have an idear. We are missing the part  protect → applications → exchange this is not available. We are using eschange DAG backup with blocklevel feature.  In java gui it works without problems. In Command center we did not see this point.  We tried different users with master role and also tried different languages. Version ist 11.25.19 maybe you have an idear

Hi Commvaulters, We have an Exchange Mailbox Archiving job running, since yesterday, but no progress is shown, no errors also is displayed on the job. Can anyone provide a clue on what the issue could be ? Attached the logs for the job.Kind regards.

Hello,After an upgrade from CV 11.20.46 to 11.24.43 (Both CS (active and standby), Mediagents, and clients have been upgraded. I have an issue with one of the Intellisnap Mediaagent.From NDMP properties of Ontap Cluster node involved, I start Detect after a while I get “could not open an ndmp connection to host…..”.I have modified Ndmp password on Ontap node then CS with no success.Check readiness on Mediaiagent is unsuccessful. I have restarted this MA, check readiness = OK but issue with ndmp persists.An idea regarding this issue ?Thanks in advance,Gilles

I added a file server as described and the control host that currently hosts the file server. Due to a malfunction, however, the file server was moved to the other control host shortly afterwards. This caused problems with the backup. Can anyone help me with the SQL query or table name where I can see the DDB generation i.e. DDB V4 or V5. 

Good afternoon I have two quick questions. We will be testing Domino DB backups for a customer. I can’t seem to find anything regarding any user accounts required to access the DB’s for backup/restore.Does Domino not use any accounts for authentication to the DB?I also see Domino V12 is not supported by Comvmvault yet. Does this mean that the backup process will fail or will it work, but isn’t supported.Thanks,Mauro

Couldn’t find anything in a web search for this exact error, so before I create a support ticket, I wanted to get forum moderator eyes on this.Background: we take weekly synthetic fulls of our daily incremental jobs. Then at the beginning of each month, we look back 2 months ago, and age out any synthetic fulls that are not the last one of that that month. This way, we should have a single end-of-month synthetic full backup for each month, starting 2 months ago and going 12 months, after that point we age out and expire the oldest synth fulls.Problem: a user asked me for a folder from 11 months ago. When using “activate”, you can add an inventory. Within that inventory I can add ‘file server’ and ‘name server’ asset. Hi Commvault Community, I would like to ask, how many simultaneous virtual machines on Nutanix can be backed up by one VSA server using the hotadd transport mode? We have three scenarios: 1) In which two VSA servers simultaneously backup 10 virtual machines with a total capacity of 1.3TB over 6 hours. 2) Backup of the same machines one after another with two VSA servers takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. 3) Simultaneous backup of the same machines by means of 3 VSA servers takes 15 minutes. The consumption of CPU and RAM during the task doesn’t exceed 50% (each VSA has 8CPU and 8GB RAM).Why such differences in time and what will be the Best Practices in this situation? Thanks&Regards,Kamil

Hi, We have an Exchange Online backup that functioned for around a year but has not been working in 8-9 months due to environmental issues. We’re trying to get it back up and running now and had to create a new Job Results folder. The backup initially failed with “the job results folder does not exist” but I’ve sinced recycled the services on the access node (which also hosts the job results folder) and deleted the old job results folder. Now the backup is failing with error code 28:428 Failed to get current archive results. Has anyone encountered this issue before?

My customer cannot log on to the Commvault Command Center adman console with his active directory account.  Error message goes straight to “Invalid User name or Password.”  He is able to use his AD account for other systems.  He has not logged on to the admin console in awhile so I am not sure when it stated.   I cannot find any entries in the current EvMgrS or CVD.log

Hello,I have 2 VM MediaAgent installed for cloud backup, both Media Agent have DDB With 4 partitions. To make a full air Gap i enable Power Manager on both Media Agent. And i created DDB verification scheduler for Cloud DDB. But mostly of time when the scheduler start and commvault turn vm's on then some of partitions breaking down and DDB Reconstruction start. 

Hello, We have two domain controllers in our infrastructure, which are located in two separate datacenters linked by dark fibre, and Active Directory replication is enabled between them.Currently, commvault only protects one domain controller that is backed up via iDA and does not protect the second dc.I also discovered that commvault has no access to the second site, implying that the firewalls are preventing access. My question is, what is the best way to backup Active Directory with replication enabled so that you can recover completely if one of your domain controllers fails?What ports are suggested for communication between Commvault and the two domain controllers(is just 8403 enough) ?Is system state backup required in this case?Could you please provide your valuable input on this?I'd appreciate it if you could be more specific with the details as I am newbie to AD . Thanks in advance...

Hello everyone, i’ve got a question to the backup from Microsoft 365 Exchange Online.Why can we backup the mailboxes only as “forever incremental”? Doesn’t it makes sense to be able to do a Synth Full from time to time?I see why we can’t make a full backup over the internet. That makes totally sense to me.The synthetic full however is performed directly on the Commserve and not over the internet.Thats why i don’t understand that we are only able to do a forever incremental. We already asked that our consultat, but he didn’t had an anwser either.So maybe someone of you now the reasons for that. Thanks,Kilian

We’re trying to install commvault client on RHEL in /opt/hds directory for compatibility reasons.instead it installs in /opt/hds/commvaultI have tried dirty tricks with sed and config files in /etc/CommVaultRegistry but nothing worked so far.Any idea how to force it to install to /opt/hds ?

hi,we configured apps using the protected microsoft graph api for a customer.using the following KB, https://kb.commvault.com/article/67692.this was aproved about 1 month ago, and went correctly for about a month. but today we tried verify connection on these apps, because 1 was invalid.then all 10 apps we registered to use the protected api went into an invalid. this was with out reason in CV, and we have asked microsoft to comment on this.they said they dont revoke ths access after it has been granted. the customer is currently on sp25.23.i am wondering if you might have an idea why this state the token has gone in to invalid state? kind Regards,Thos Gieskes.

How are you guys handling the commserve name after failing over with live sync.  For example all users are used to going to HTTPS://COMMSERVERNEW.FQDN.NET/CONSOLE but after failing over the standyby name comes into play for example HTTPS://STANDBYCOMMSERVE.FQDN.NET/CONSOLE How can I prevent having to blast out emails and user confusion, broken shortcuts etc.  Any ideas out there to make a fail over easy for my end users?

Currently we are protecting a customer’s Sharepoint farm using SQL agent on the SQL server; and File system agent on rest of the servers; we cant get hypervisor access hence used the file system agent.  We tested the recovery and restored all the servers and used SQL database restore to restore the databases.  However, the search functionality does not work on the recovered environment.    We are thinking of using the Sharepoint Farm backup; the documentation says to install Sharepoint agent; so as I understand >  Install Sharepoint Agent on all the servers in the farm > Because SQL agent is already installed on SQL server do I need to install Sharepoint agent as well on it ; also do I need to stop SQL backups and Sharepoint backups would protect the same set of data again> Create a sudo-client and select all these as member servers > Expand sudo-client and create user-defined sub-client and on the content tab include web-
