Greetings all,I’m the DBA and not the commvault admin.  We have access to view our backup logs across the board with zero issues, but we are getting a permission denied when trying to view logs from our restore operations.  We absolutely need the latter.  Our commvault admins aren’t sure where to check.What permission might we be missing and where to check?Thanks! - Chris

we are having issue with our backups with the cluster config while running the backup on the client gettig below errorthe jobs kept on going to pending state when we tried to run one of the node we got below error , we have checked the telnet connection from cleint to MA 8403 and its working  

Most of the Commvault implementations we perform are making use of ‘Network Gateways’ / ‘Proxies’.To make it my life a bit easier, I’m using the ‘Network Gateway Appliance’ which can be downloaded on cloud.commvault.com. (https://cloud.commvault.com/webconsole/softwarestore/#!/130/704/19138).I noticed the latest version is still 11.20; which can still be upgraded. But the appliance is also CentOS7 based which is giving me more and more hassle.… as it’s approaching EOL.Are there any plans to renew the appliance ? Perhaps based on an Oracle Linux edition (such as the FREL appliance) ?I’m aware that the gateway / proxy is just a component and that I can install virtually any OS to function as a proxy. Good Day Community, An auditing company is requesting the system generated user listings for Commvault from Jan 1st, 2023 – July 31st 2023, showing the following parameters:  o    user IDo    user status (active/disabled)o    user creation dateo    user disabled dateo    access roles/groupso    last login date.   Is there a report I can run that would give that information?If not, I’d like to create a custom report from the WebConsole, but what would be the table/view with the required information?Many thanks in advance.

Hi All, I have a large number of AWS S3 Buckets to protect however I have noticed that I am not able to create or use Auto scaling access nodes. Even HA for the access nodes is not an option as you can only select a single node in the config. you cannot select a group. How would I get HA for these access nodes apart from actually creating a OS Cluster to ensure HA? i can see as per Auto-Scaling for Amazon EC2 Access Nodes (commvault.com) that Auto-scaling is not currently supported for Amazon RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, EFS, FSx, or S3 backup. how do we ensure HA at a minimum?

Hi,We have PostgreSQL server (Linux on VM) with DB ~7TB in size. We would like to have only full (or better  full+ inc combination) backup done once per day to be able to restore whole DB only to time of backup.That environment is probably to huge for streaming backup (dump or FS), so we would like to use block-level-backup.BLB requires WAL logging enabled and during snap backup additional log backup job is running automatically.It looks like snap backup is consistent because it quiesce DB and put into backup mode, make snap and run DB further. So it looks like in that case logs are not required during restore.We don’t want run log backup because that DB generates ~0,5TB  logs every hour and, if WAL enabled we need to run additional log backups hourly to delete logs from WAL directory (it takes about 40 minutes every hour). Which Commservtable or view has the information about the current throughput and average throughputfor an actively running job , which we could find in the Job Controller. And what is the column name to get these details average throughput and current throughput for all the respective jobs in job controller.   For eg: the following Commserv view CommCellJobController only lists certain information like  

Hello,I am in the process of migrating to a new disk library. For all the Storage Policies I have created new corresponding copies for each site.The current Primary (1) and Synchronous (2) copies have a 30 day basic and 90 day full weekly retention configured.I now created 2 new copies but since I am writing to WORM storage I have configured the retention for both the new copies with 90 day basic retention. My issue is that not all the jobs are being copied. Only the first 4.The rest of the jobs have a status of “To be Copied & Disabled”. What does this mean?How can I get them automatically copied?Should I select the option “Pick for Copy” on all the required jobs? Thanks.Ignes  

Hello, TeamI have a environment where there are 3 sites; 1, 2 and 3. The Media agent in site one runs its jobs very fast while those in 2 and 3 are very slow. The scanning phase sometimes take up 2 1 hour for 200GB of data. The servers are Unix boxes and most of the jobs running are files system. The Media agents are also Unix boxes. Kindly help on how to get what the issue is

Hello,We run SQL server on VM’s on hyper-v.  Testing restore of master database to SQL instance; there doesn’t appear to be a way to do this through the web console, but the documentation states that this procedure would work for what we need:  Can anyone confirm restoring system databases requires the java console?  If not, can you point me in the right direction on the web gui?  I’m unable to find any advanced restore options alluded to above. Thank you - Chris

Hi Team, we have three hyper-scale appliance and same appliances connected with metallic cloud. Hi,We use Commvault version 11.28.44. In BOL it states: “ An Azure storage account is no longer required for SharePoint agent restores.” (https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/18078_configuring_sharepoint_agent_for_office_365_01.html). However, when performing a restore, Commvault still asks for storage account details and I can’t submit the restore request. Am I something missing here?Thank you.

Hello All,The user is upgrading NetApp ONTAP from 9.7P9 to 9.9.1P16 on Saturday and needs clarification if this version is supported by Commvault V11 SP16.HPK192. It is true that 9.9.1P16 it is not listed as supported in the Commvault documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp16/article?p=33744.htm).In view of the document being last updated a few years ago, could you please confirm if we extend support for the above-mentioned version. (Note: User is on NetApp ONTAP 9.7P9 which is also not listed in the documentation). Grateful for any help!

Does Commvault support tailing log backup?We have a customer who need that for one database I can’t find any options in Commvault for that.Do you have to run a script?

Hello,I’ve tried to restore files from NDMP to File System agent and I’ve get this error from the nasRestore.log of the Media Agent: 3249947 319739 01/18 11:01:36 1369119 kickOffRemoteServer() - Unable to start remote data server process on host [host xxx*host xxx*8400*8402]. Connection error [18446744071562527494=+]3249947 319739 01/18 11:01:36 1369119 NasRestore::OnMsgCloseArchive() - Failed to start CVNRDS process on host [host xxx]. When searching into the client, I didn’t find the CVNRDS executable and process active on the server. I’m sure this process is not part of the FS agent or something is missing from our configuration here.I’ve looked into Commvault documentation and didn’t see any information. Do you have any idea how I can solve this issue? Thank you in advance,Best regards,

Hi Team,Our M365 Backup environment is in AWS.Access Node + Media Agent and index server are built in DMZ account in AWSand our S3 Bucket are in Share services account in AWS.When backup runs it casues egress charges for moving data from DMZ to shared service account.To mitigate this egress changes we are thinking to move the Access Node + MA and Index server from DMZ account to Share services account in AWS.Rquest you to please help me how we should perfom this migration activity from Commvault end. Regards Rahul Raina 

Hello,  I have a problem with commvault not been able to delete file on client after archiving job, in subclient properties i did set “Delete the files” after Archiving. When i manually start the job the file gets backup but it stays in folder on client. everything i could find is the event code 19:2325  (NumberOfFilesProcessed = [0], NumberOfFilesArchived = [0], NumberOfFilesSkippedForRedundancyCheck = [0]. TotalNumberOfFilesSkipped[0].) Can anyone help me with this problem? 

Hi together,currently we are trying to move operation from Commcell Console to Command Center.In the case of a SQL-Server restore we discovered that it is not possible to restore the SQL system databases (model/master/msdb) with the Command Center.In the Commvault Console we have the “Include System Databases” tick-box in the advanced restore options … but there are no advanced restore options in the Command Center.There is an additional setting named “bEnableAdvancedRestoreOptionsMSSql” … but this seems to serve a different purpose.Do I miss something?Thank you.Regards.Michael
