Hi Team,I have configured MongoDB backup and successfully run Full backup. When I want to run incremental backup there is no option for incremental backup. Either through commandcenter or from commcell console.Any idea why is that? Or I need to create another subclient for oplog backup?Thanks and best regards,Fauzi

Hi,I have one GPFS pseudo client. The backup is directly going to tape, whenever there is no scratch media in the library, the backup is going to pending state instead of waiting state whereas I can see other tape backups going to waiting state.If I suspend and resume the job, it is resumed but still the backup is running more than the total number of file and size. 

New load of CommVualt 2022E,  System marked all of the brand new tapes as Retired Media, How do I get it set as usable Spare Media.  Have used older versions of CommVault but not the newer ones.

How many maximum Proxy servers’ power can be managed using 1 Cloud controller(2CPU, 2GB RAM)? (Minimum shall be 1, would like to know the Maximum)2. Is the contributor role required for the Cloud controller or Proxy servers or the client servers? Since the cloud controller is the one who would be managing the power status of other servers, it should be for the Cloud Controller and not some other servers. Please clarify. Grateful for any insights BR

Basically the title.  I have a bunch of HotAdd servers that have the MediaAgent software installed. Do I need to have the MediaAgent software installed?  We have IntelliSnap running to back up the VMs on the vSphere As a bonus question, these HotAdd VMs also have the file system agent installed.  How do I uninstall just that software?  Or will I need to uninstall Commvault software completely and reinstall Commvault? 

Hi All,  We are not able to access Commcell Console via SSO from other Domain. We re getting Database error while trying to access Commcell console. From EVMgrs Logs we are getting 0xc000019B error. And from Client Machine  we are getting 0x1b Unknown error. Microsoft is suggesting us to create SPN for Service Account , Is it Necessary to configure SPN for Cross Domain SSO. Please suggest us how we can troubleshoot the issue.

Hi, When installing Commserve a SQL Server is installed too. There is a license limitation for SQL Server as per documentation:For SQL Server 2019, the license is limited to 4 sockets or 24 cores, whichever is less.https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/132365_commserve_server_system_requirements_linux.htmlCustomer wants to reuse existing hardware and to install Commserve Server role on it. This server has a processor with 32 cores on it. It is my understanding that SQL Server will be limited to 24 cores, but would this be a license violation to install it on a machine with more then 24 cores? What can we expect? Regards

I have ndmp backup on client that failed in the last evening and it shows me this error :UpdateIndex failed on MediaAgent - Index files are missing. Job could have earlier run on a different MediaAgent possibly due to a failover(error 14:200) Also, I checked in this link :https://kb.commvault.com/article/54339and checked in the environment the space in the index directory and there is 94.85% free in the index directory cache I added here photos   Thank you

Hi Team,We are configuring Storage policies and including Tape for auxiliary.Please find the below requirement. Requirement 1: First storage policy will configure Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly schedule for disk and then only Weekly, monthly & Yearly will go to auxiliary copy of tape.Requirement 2: Second storage policy will configure Monthly (keep disk) and that is no need for auxiliary copy.Our Clarifications:Is it will configure separate schedules for Weekly, monthly & Yearly? After retention of backup, the data will delete from disk without auxiliary copy (requirement2).Please advise.

Hi All, i have an short question regarding the exchange online mailbox backup.  The companay decided to activate the Micorostf Archive feature for Mails.  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/policy-and-compliance/in-place-archiving/manage-archives?view=exchserver-2019&viewFallbackFrom=exchonline-ww So every mails wich are older than 180days should be moved to the archive.  Is there any impact to our Backup ? My opionion is not because we are running every 4 hours an backup and when a new mail is dected the mail would be backuped directly and is saved on the backup storage, When now the Micorosft archive policy is moveing the mail it doesnt belong to commvault. The Backups are incr 4 ever so no impact.  is that correct ? 

Hi, I set the Maximum number of parallel data transfer on my MAs to 300, but the Device streams on my storage policies is set to 100. I have 5 storage polices. I just wonder if I need to increase the Device streams to higher number than 100? Thank you.

Hello Team, Currently File system backup using Netbackup with accelearated feature (data size is 7TB) and the full backup job is completing with in 45 Mins. Please advise in commvault will use same accelerated feature to make it backup jobs speed.

Hello Team,I want disable Commvault software Encryption & compression option, please confirm below mentioned option is correct to disable.Under the Global storage policy properties - Advanced - Uncheck Encrypt Data on primary copyUnder the Global storage policy properties - Deduplication database properties - Uncheck enable software compression with deduplication.Please advise.

Hi All, In one of our project Client has mirgated there Backup environment from HPDP to Commvault.However, they still have their long/permanent retention data on tape in HPDP. IS their any way to migrate them to Commvault and use Commvult to restore the old data.And als decommssion the HPDP environment. Regards,Rahul Raina

Hi All, maybe you can help us.  During an human error the option: DDB horizontal scaling threshold number of subclients per DDB 1  was set to 1. This cause last night  DDB [xyz] crossed number of subclients threshold hence created a new DDB [xyz] for adding new Subclients.  Now we have 2 DDBs   So what happen is that all new subclients will be run against the ID:44 and all old one deduplicated against ID:41  This happend also for another engine.  The new created id is actually empty. Sealing did not help. also we tried: qoperation agedata -delbystoreid -sid 44 ft Q_DATA_LOG Actually running support case does also have no idear if and how can this ddb can be deleted.  The problem is that we dont have enoug space in metallic cloud for running in baseline. thanks for your help

Good Day to all!I am facing the issue on Auxcopy job. The incremental backup size is only 15 TB and we have good copy upto 6th August, 2023 but when the auxcopy job is triggered it is showing 251 TB need to be copied.Recently we have upgraded the Maintenance release from 11.24.112 to 11: 24.116 on 6th August, 2023 Kindly suggest 

Hello, I have a DASH copy from the Prod site to the DR site. The DDUP partition on the DR site appears to be running out of space, so the Aux copy has been stopped. What should I do to resume the auxiliary copy? I can’t add more space.Thanks 

Hi All, We have database configured in Availability Group and we have configured backup in Commvault with availability group name. Is it possible to run to run Full and Differential and Tlog backup from Secondary node.We have selected the prefer backup option as secondary are as Secondary Node in SQL Studio Management  but as per my thinking only tlog will run from secondary Node.Please let me can Commvault run all backups from Secondary Node of Availability Group.If yes how to configure it.

If i understand correctly Changed Block Tracking is not supported when taking VM backups in a Citrix environment?Backups for Citrix Xen (commvault.com) When a virtual machine disk for a Xen virtual machine is backed up, the entire disk is read for allocated blocks, for both full and incremental backups. Can anyone confirm? I was thinking that CBT will greatly improve the backup speed. Thank you!
