Dear Team, We currently have a production CommServer running V11 SP 28, while laptop/desktop backups are operating on a lower version, V11 SP 24. With over 5000 laptop/desktop agents requiring an upgrade, we seek assistance in downloading the necessary packages and deploying them via SCCM without creating new instances. Your guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.Furthermore, we have observed multiple duplicate instances appearing for each machine. We are keen to remove or delete these duplicates without impacting the existing backup configurations. Could you please provide instructions on how to achieve this effectively? Regards,ManiD
Hello dear community,this is not a problem, but rather a kind of preparation. Our CommCell server is virtualised and runs under VMware. We are planning to upgrade our CommCell from version 11.24.94 to Commvault Platform Release 2023E (11.32). In case something goes wrong during the upgrade process, I was thinking of taking a snapshot of the VM running the CommCell before starting the update and then restoring this snapshot in an emergency to have the machine as it was before the update.Is this a viable option, or does the CommCell not cope so well when a snapshot is imported?Are there any other ways that you can recommend to restore the functionality?Thank you very much for your answers!Best regards,Pascal
I have few client with Oracle, SQL, SAP databases hosting in the clients.Our current Commvault software version is 11.28 and the few of the clients are in 11.17 and 11.20 versions.I plan to upgrade the software in the client and while pushing the software to this clients, I see 2 options.1.Reboot the client if required.2.Run Database maintenanceNow, if I check the “Run Database maintenance”, What will be the implications?Will it stop the database? or without stopping the database, will it just check the checkdb and reindexall?I need to know if checking the 2nd option will bring the database, as the server that I’m gonna upgrade is production servers.Let me know the best practice.
Hello Commvault Community,I hope everyone is doing well. I recently purchased a Commvault license, but unfortunately, I made a mistake when entering the serial number during the activation process. As a result, I am unable to proceed with activation because the serial number I entered does not match the one registered on the CommServer.I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance on how to resolve this issue. How does a customer determine the MS SQL Version that is currently in use on the Commserve? Customer would like to check the version to determine if an upgrade is needed.
While accessing the partner university site I receive the following error and the “Click Here to find the possible solution for this error” page doesn’t help. The other topics related to this problem don’t give a solution except commvault employees doing something. Who would I need to contact to get this fixed?
After updating from 11.28, to 11.32. Have a single system that is not able communicate properly with the commserve for backup purposes.Check Rediness returns OK.cvping from/to the client and commserv is happy.All services on the client are running.client and commserve are in same subnet, so no firewall appliances between them.Client services stopped/started, and finally rebooted the client. no change.Some of the errors in the logs:“There is no incoming network connection from ‘commserve’”“No Incoming tunnel from ‘commserve’”“Couldn’t translate client name ’client’ to a client ID.last step i guess is to re-install the client?

Planning to do a hardware refresh of Commvault environment running livesync. I would appreciate some advice on how this can be done.Reasons for doing the refresh is as follows:1. Upgrade to Commvault v11.32 2. Commvault currently running v11.20 with SQL 2012 as the backend3.
