Software Upgrades and Updates

 I have clients that I was previously backing up as a FSA, I released the FSA license and starting backing them up as VM’s. The software version on client backing up as VM with FSA agent released shows missing latest feature releaseI would like to continue backing them up as VM’s, I just don't want them to show up on the Software Version report as missing the latest feature release.What are my options ?  

i tried a lot to have live session to have training to know how to configure back up schedule on servers but no reply from them a lot of tickets and messages and no benefit and the customer care closed my calls when describe my issue! 

.NET Core 6.0.goes end of support November 12, 2024. When can we expect an update for this please?

Hi Good Day,We have recently upgraded CommVault server to latest version 11.36.35 which use the Dotnet framework version 8.0.11. This was to fix the Dotnet version 6.0.16 vulnerability issue.Even after the upgrade the security scan detect 6.0.16 package on the CommVault server. When I check the add/remove program it shows both 6.0.16 and 8.0.11 packages. Not sure why, as it supposed to be maintained the version 8.0.11.Appreciate your help on this matter. How to fix it.

We would like to upgrade commvault from 11.24.153 to latest LTS 11.36. Please share the below queries.Is there any complexity to upgrade directly to latest LTS 11.36? We are using Active/Passive CommServe nodes with live sync. Please share a upgrade procedure with livesync enviroment. Current SQL version is 2019 - 15.0.4236.7 and Windows Server version is 2019 standard. Do we need to upgrade windows as well as SQL to 2022 or 2025 separatly or it would initiate automatically during upgrade process?

Hello good day,I’m planning to upgrade CommVault server from version 11.24.134 to 11.36.56. CS/MA is a physical serve. DDB and Disk Library are hosted on the same server.Upgrade procedure is fine. Not very sure how is the rollback plan. Understanding if any upgrade error occur it will not automatically rollback. DR backup configured no DR-Live sync.If CS server has a media agent role and data on it how to do this, because we could not uninstall CS before uninstalling the media server. Is it possible to repair CS software using install package as it has an option for repair but not sure it is applicable for a CS server, then restore the DB using DR backup set. Definitely we must log a support case.I need to plan how to rollback/reinstate CommServe (CS, MA, Disk-Library & DDB are on same box) in a situation of an upgrade failure. Please help.    

Hi Team, Is there a procedure to upgrade from 11.32 or 11.34 to 11.36?I had some impressions and thus the need to ask the following questions arose.1- I want to upgrade from 11.32 or 11.34. It is said that a system that performs pre-upgrade check has arrived and the latest patch for Windows and SQL Server must be installed. Even though the latest patch is installed, the error persists.2- As far as I see in the document, 11.36 only uses SQL Server 2022.3- In this case, when I want to upgrade SQL Server itself directly from 2016 or 2019 to 2022, I get an error again.4- First, DR Backup will be taken, then Commvault and SQL Server will be uninstalled. After reinstalling 11.36, the DBs taken with DR Backup will be shown to the environment, is this correct?

Does anyone faced with license expired (1.1.1970) after commvault upgrade?After I upgraded the CS + MA I got a message about license expired on 1.1.1970 and it’s happen on the web only. In the commcell everything is fine with the license.we upgraded from 11.34.41 to 11.36.28CS + MA are running on windowsThanks

Hello,I did an upgrade my test CS from version 11.32.59 to 11.36.35 on RHEL 8.8.The process itself went through without a problem, both Commserve and MediaAgent updated.However, when I log into the console, it still displays version 11.32.59 for Commserve and Commserve only. I did restart services, restart commserve, I can't do the repair it because I get an error that the version in the software cache is incompatible (I have 11.36.35 in the cache).Has anyone else encountered such a problem and managed to solve it?My dashboard now displays this:

Hello:My IT security colleague wants to know if we can manually update the version of Python that is installed on the Commvault server. We have version 3.11 on the server and they are receiving alerts about possible vulnerabilities in the version and that is why they want the most updated version.

Hellowe just upgraded from 11.28.x to 11.32.73 a few days ago and now we have been getting these DATA CUBE EVENTS.  Im not sure why or how these started or what they are.   I still consider myself a novice commvault user. for our upgrade We had to basically uninstall commvault and then uninstall MS SQL as we couldn't go straight to 11.32 as our MS SQL server was still on 2014 with 11.28.xSo once we uninstalled both commvault and MS SQL we used the 11.32.x Full version to install commvault/ MSSQL back onto our server with the same commvault packages as prior then we did a recovery on the DBs.  Of course I had issues with the Recovery portion and had to tie in support.   But now Im noticing the following:  EVENT CODE 72:176[Data Cube service] with URL [http://xxxxxxxxxx.xxx.com:20000/solr/api/ping] is not responsive. After upgrading from 11.32 to 11.36.28, some backups on the Azure stack fail with this error:Unable to create a virtual machine snapshot of [x]. [Failed to fetch a Valid SAS Token. We currently have a single Windows Server 2019 running Commvault 11.28.129 (serves as both commserve/media).  I see that our MSSQL is version 2016 ( product version 13.0.6455.2). So I normally download regular maintenance releases on a jumpbox and then upload it to a file share location and then on the commserve I do a copy via TOOLS | ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE | Copy Software. What is the best approach to upgrade to 11.32.x.   Do I just download both the Windows & linux latest 11.32.x update  (we only have RHEL & windows clients - about 18 total) ??   Then copy the 11.32.x over to our file share were I can then do a copy via commserve  TOOL | ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE | COPY SOFTWARE? Then just perform a “Upgrade Software” via commcell | Tools | Add/Remove software?Basically can I upgrade the Long Term Support release of 11.32.x via the commcell?Or do I have to download the main 11.32 package from the commvault support site - Downloads & Packages | v11 Download Manager & Additiona
