Hi, I have a VM which fails, with error failed to get index information from previous backup. The index cannot be accessed. try again later. I have run a full backup. this completes successfully and then ran an incremental backup on this VM and the issue still persists. This issue is only occurs when you run an incremental backup on this one VM. Are there any suggestion we can try?

Hi Community,how can I update the index status of the Exchange Online Agent?I have currently an Index status of April 10.  When I initiate a mailbox restore, only mails up to April 10 are displayed.  Is it possible to refresh manually the Index Status from the Exchange Online Agent? best regards,Andreas

Hello,Does anyone have a working request body for an out of place restore that goes from Vmware to HyperV?All of the example and docs only talk about going from VMware to Vmware and i cant figure out what all i need to make a valid restore.My main issues right now are i cant seem to get it to cluster the vm, add the nic, or put the vmconfig in the correct place.  I can get it to restore the disks to the correct place but the vm config stays in c:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\iDataAgent\JobResults\CV_JobResults\iDataAgent which isnt going to work.  Also, even though it does put the disks in the correct place, it also appears to leave\start with a copy in c:\windows\vmwaredatastorename, which isnt good either when the vm is large.Here is what i have so far, like it said, it does restore kinda, but i would like to not have to to write some sort of post-processor to make it all work.  Doing it manually works great.Here is what i have so far tha

I am trying to create a workflow to retire/delete clients for which retain until date is already met but it still exists in storage and console.  I am looking to get a query wherein i can get retain until date of any client which i look for. Could someone help me with the query to get retain until date of client.

current environment is> physical server with local mount path ,> os windows 2012 r2 ,> commserv version 11.24. we are implementing hyperscale  x new version  Version Hyperscale ISO 3.2312 CommServe server minimum version 11.32.35 (or later) CommServe Server: System Requirements Windows 2016 above   we need to migrate the commserv to new virtual environment , but to copy the local mount path we dont have space in the virtual environment  inplace upgrade of exsisting physcial machine OS  is challenging 

Hello Commvault Community, We are running 11.32.35, right now we have around 70 VMs with Windows and Linux operating systems. We also have a single Media Agent running RHEL.To backup Windows-based VMs, do we need to deploy Windows MA or can we leverage it with existing RHEL MA? Then what about the VSA, is it also has to be windows-based? Please suggest.

I am trying to find a solution in the scheduler to keep my monthly backups in one weekend.At the moment my monthly backups are configured to run the first Saturday and the first Sunday, but these two days aren’t always in the same weekend.How do I adapt the scheduler to select the monthly fulls from the same weekend?

can we use standby commserver at DR location also as a Media agent ? instead of deploying Media agent on other server for Auxcopy (secondary copy)?

We are using a 100M line, and we are currently using a single network to an external DR host as well as a backup.Due to network traffic issues, we had to limit the speed of backups.After looking up the TN, we found that Commvault can be set up the same as QoS using the network throttling function.We understand that this feature will be applied on a policy basis, but we are currently unable to find a place to apply this policy to DRVMs.I'll be waiting for any your comments.Regards

Hi everyone. I am currently testing and documenting the setup of the continuous replication (VAIO) in a test environment. When installing the VAIO filters, I keep getting, “The operation is not allowed in the current state.” I used the built-in administrator too. I can’t open a support ticket as it is not a licensed CS. Customer contacted us saying they saw a File system backup job “Completed with errors”.Found in job history details that 5-6 objects failed due to “access is denied”.I mentioned this to the customer, and it appears the failed objects are folders that were deleted 3 days ago.I guess Commvault is running some kind of indexing before a backup job starts(?), but I don’t know why it still “sees” the deleted folders during indexing or backup..?Can I force update the index somehow? Is this even caused by a problem with index?(Since the folders were deleted there has been 2 Completed with errors with reference to the same folders. I suspect the backup today will be the same..)

Hi community,we are migrating from another solution to Commvault’s backup solution.Currently we are billing our customers per client and per used backup disk space. It would be great if we could handle the billing the same way as before.We are now looking for the best way the get the used disk space per client. Ideally directly with a SQL query. In another thread someone recommended the QS_BackendStorage stored procedure. While this looks like a good solution, we are not sure how to interpret the values. In our understanding the column ‘Backend Size (GB)’ contains the actual used disk space on the media agents per client. So adding up all those values should be equal to the used disk space on the volume.In our testing system currently 14.3TB of the disk space is used (by just checking the disk usage on the media agent - we currently only have one), while the sum of all values in the column ‘Backend Size (GB)’ of the sto

HelloWe have worm enabled copies. The retention is 10 days and 1 cycle.Now we have a server that is decomissioned and backups have expiered after 20 days, so we are cleaning up the stg copies. But coming to the worm copy we can’t get rid of it due to that we can’t manually delete a job from it. As it is now it seems the backup jobs will be in there forever.I know we can do the process for unlocking the worm setting via support.Is there a best practicies regarding worm enabled copies in the respect of cycles?Am I right to assumethat, If we would set the cycles to 0 the job would prune off correctly?BRHenke

I have two sets of media agents, each handling completely seperate sets of backup data.Each set of data has the same storage requirements.I want to use a single S3 bucket but have two libraries/storage pools, so the DDBs stay with each seperate media agent set.So, can the same S3 bucket be referenced by multiple Commvault libraries?As my bucket is object locked I’d like to find out more before I make any connections to it.Thanks. 

Hi, We have an issue with the aging of our O365 backups. We have set the retention on the primary at 14 days/0 cycles but we can see data from 2022 residing on it.There are not Jobs waiting to be copied on the secondary.The Forecast report shows for reason for not aging “DataAging is disabled for special clients”.Data aging is activated at every level I have looked (Client properties, Primary policy copy properties).Worm storage lock unchecked on the GDDB as well as Compliance Lock.Compliance lock is not checked on primary copy.I’d like to know how I can handle the retention on my primary storage.Thx for your help.

Hello. We would like to restore some files and SQL DB backups nightly directly into a Azure Blob. I know that I can schedule this type of restores. (latest backup & advanced restore options for SQL)But:Is it possible to restore directly into a Azure Blob? (Destination: azure blob)(aux copy will not do the job, as I need the data in the native / non-commvault format in the cloud)
