Hi All,In our infra the CS and clients are behind firewalls and new client install from CS is blocked. So we are creating custom packages and upload it in the download center.For windows machines, no problem we can access to the web and download the package.But the linux machine where we have only CLI, is there any magic commands to download the package from the download center directly? Thank you in advance.

Hello, hopefully i have this request in the proper place and it has not been asked before.So I have 2 exchange environments because where is the fun in just having one. I currently have a 2013 exchange env. running 2013. Dag1also an exchange 2019 system. Dag2  My ask is.. We are only interested in backing up the databases within the dags. Which is happening and no issues, but today I was looking at capacity usage and I notice that all the DAGS are part of a multi server setup, and these servers are also doing a file level backup, to me it seems that this is a duplication of backups and I only need the DAG DB’s. can someone confirm this is true and I only need to be backing up the DAG data and not the actual servers that are doing a file level backup as well. btw, I am using the passive copies in the DAGS. thanksChris 

Is there any report where I can select IP address for clients listed in it? My IT security dep wanted list of all infrastructure clients with IP address, but all reports has only client name and host name.

Hi All, i found this post ( New DDB stores gets Auto-created.. Horizontal scaling enabled.. | Community (commvault.com) ) but doesnt help :(  So my question is how can i prevent creating an new ddb because of high qi times ? DDB(s) reaching QI time threshold for adding new Subclients [ {DDB [XXXX] MediaAgent [XXXX] Path [XXXX] AvgQITime [670] Free Space Percentage [56] } ]. New DDB(s) may gets created if it crosses threshold. Please review the DDB configuration, for more details refer Deduplication Building Block Guide on Books Online. I dont find any additional settings to prevent creating new ddb

Customer has SaaS and wants to include their Azure virtual machines for unusual file activity monitoring.  in SaaS are we able install a restore only agent on the virtual machines to include them for monitoring?  Please provide instructions for my SaaS customer to obtain and install this restore only agent themselves.

Even though the content is already there when browsing the contentCan't Synology backup use a NAS client? Hello all, I am facing the issue in SQL server backup: VDI timeout attempts expired for SQL Database 

Customer has concerns that storage usage keeps increasing with incremental backup for M365. There is also risk if one of the jobs corrupted (job 99), we cannot recover future jobs (job 100). What is the workaround to have weekly full backup for M365?Can we create weekly full backup for M365 for all mailboxes (new mailboxes are _automatically_ added into the backup job)? Hello Everyone,Is it possible to recover data from a tape that was used in a previous CV instance?For example, data was previously backed up to tape using CV instance.  Then a few years later that CV instance was uninstalled and no longer exists.  Is there a way to recover data from that tape using any CV tools?Thanks for any information

My backups are running at 66 days and only 44 -60 % done. Obviously I cannot continue.  There are a number of articles on slow performance but they are in an area that I am not privileged to see.  There is no errors or events.  The backups are a mix of windows file servers and vms . I am not versed enough with commvault to quickly get to the heart of the matter.

One of my MS SQL database backups keeps on running for entire day, but the progress is 0% and sometimes it completes after making some failed attempts and sometimes it fails completely. when I checked the error message under the failed attempt it says. "Error encountered when closing the virtual device. Please see SQL Server vdi.log for more details." I have already shared the logs with CommVault support. However, I was checking the event logs related to VDI on the server and found attached alert. can this be the issue. RegardsAmit

Hello,Our company use 1 MA on each site, they have 4 sites.each physical MA has some dedup Databases.We plan a hardware refresh with 2 MA on each site (gridstor mode) in the same we plan to migrate our backup storage from DAS to NAS.What is the better approach to perform the refresh with less complexitybuild the new MAs move Index and DDB to the new MA connect new Storage libraries to the new MA On existing Storage policies, create a synchronous copy that point the the new MA and new libraries promote the secondary copy to primary decommission the old MAThnaks for the help!

Hi All, Commvault indicated in the documentation how to virtualize the  physical machinehttps://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/create_virtual_machine.htmlbut I still have a question about the behavior after virtualizationThe Windows client is planned to be virtualized and has iSCSI disks connected.After virtualization and connecting these disks to the virtualized machine, will it be necessary to perform a full backup?The same disks with the same data will be on the virtualized machine.Will Commvault maintain continuity of backups in such a case?  

Hello Team. Customer has moved on-prem vmware ms windows vm’s to azure as azure vm instances. They say they have the vm’s in 4 separate subscriptions and provided 4 subscription ID’s. The CV Azure Client has only 1ea. field for a subscription ID. To protect these vm’s, will 4ea. CV Azure Clients need to be created ?
