I’m attempting a MySQL restore (made with XtraBackup if that matters) but I can’t get over this error: Description: Restoring Percona Xtrabackup database [~XXXXXXXXX~] failed. Yesterday we added a new client to our commcell.  We had originally purchased 20 Virtual Operating Instances.  So with the addition of yesterdays client we are now at 100 %.  We have used all 20 of 20 licenses purchased.My question is why do I see this message in the events:System has reached within 100 percent limit of [Virtual Operating Instances] usage. System may start to disable options soon. So yes I understand we are at 100% and have no plans of adding another client unless of course we release a license on a current client.  But what does it mean SYSTEM MAY START to DISABLE OPTIONS soon??? now sure I understand why it states this. SNIP: Please adviseThanksBC

Trying to deploy CV to protect my Hyper-V cluster (intend is to use intellisnap). However after installing the product and trying to configure Hyper-V as hypervisor, it just doesn’t discover any nodes in the cluster nor discover individual nodes. The access node will be available during the first discovery try and then after few seconds it comes back with no error and now access nodes won’t be available.Setup:Hyper-V 2022 2 node clusterPermissions for account used – part of Hyper-V administrator group, Users group, Administrator group, backup administrator group. The account have full control on the hyper-v cluster.Commcell server v 11.34.5 (initial app setup complete – storage and plan added) and Array configured.

Hello Team,We have recently configured Commvault metallic with OCI one of the Oracle Instance where it is running on PAAS environment.The backup is going fine now we need to test it from backup.Please let us know in place restore of instance / DB to OCI.And one more that what kind of restore level possible to PAAS environment.

Hello Communinty, I would like to know some details about backup in Azure for VMs. I checked that disks in Azure has access from public all networks. Please let me know what can be the impact on Commvault if we use option to Disable public access and enable public access. I know it is related to snapshot copy, etc. Another question is:Do we have some threat to exposied our data to the internet. Regards, Michal

Hello Commvault engineers !I have multiple Plans with different retentions created.We are using a monitoring tool that catches snmp trap sent by the Commserve and generates a ticket on Snow when a backup failed.Into this plan, sometimes we have some clients that are stopped by users and during a backup, they generate an error “Backup failed client offline”I am looking for a solution to avoid that offline clients generate an error.Thanks for your help  

As title implies, I am retiring a VM Server. Currently, this server gets backed up daily, and it kept on local disk storage for a period of 1 month. What is the correct prescribed method using the command center GUI to “stop” the daily backups, and then just have the data age off for the next month until there is no data left and I can delete the VM from the VM group backup. Do I simply change the “plan” the vm is affiliated with to “none”?

I have customized report (from Backup Job Summary report)which has the information of certain jobs with for ex:the report has a table which contains the following columnsJobid, subclient, job status, start time, end time  I have added a schedule to this report to generate csv format file at a specific time.If have to run this report from workflow, which API shall i use? 

I had to run the Forecast report on a storage policy to try and figure out why some old jobs are not being aged. I am used to see the jobs give a reason in the “reason for not aging column”.However many jobs in this case do not have a reason.First thought was that maybe the job is required by another job, but the job ID in “required by jobs” is the same job.What could be the reason?

What happened to Data in the storage after reaching retain date in Commvault? Does this get delete from storage and free up the space that took on day 1?for example have a job retention policy set 30 days. Every day data written to the storage 1 BG.When this reach to 31 day will that 1 BG data got free up from storage and next daily backup job write data on this space on day 31st? How can I check from Commvault how much data will free up when it will reached to retention date?

Im trying to recover a document that seems to be on an older tapeIs there a way i can identify which tape it is stored on from the document information?

We are planning to upgrade from 11.28.xx to 11.32.xx soon.  Recently during a separate event, I was told that when we upgrade to 11.32, the INDEX FS increases dramatically.  Does anyone know more information on this so we can plan for the increase? 

We need to conduct the POC for this scenario, need input / suggestion's.The costumer want to setup a DR replication using Commvault auto recovery option. The primary site is using vmware and the DR is hosted in azure cloud. Here have been some challenges with the existing setup few of the serves were running with legacy OS like Win2003 and Oracle RHEL. As we aware win2003 is not supported on Azure platform and the costumer is not ready to upgrade to latest OS.  In this case is there any alternative option we can use to replicated the on prem workloads to Azure. I would appreciate for your suggestions. Thanks 

Hello All,We are using Linux Media Agents, on of the sudden media agent went offline with some communication issue with the ports 8400 & 8403 (we are using for communication) and there is no changes from server end.After restarting the CV services, it was back again, but we need to know that what is the reason it is going offline? which log to refer the check the actual issue, I have checked cvd.log, cvfwd.log but can’t find anything.Did anyone know, how can we exactly point to the issue with a log or event?

Hi everybody,I get a message from the tape library that there are no free/spare tapes left (see first picture below).Can somebody tell me how can I use the aged tapes again and what I need to click to mark them usable again? In the picture below you can see that I have no spares, but in scratch pool (Media in the Library) there are many tapes that no longer have any data (see photo below). How can I mark one of them and assign it for reuse?It would be a great help to me if someone could tell me how I can use the aged tapes again.

I am planning to migrate the media agent and disk library to a new setup. The current media agents and disk library contain backups with a six-month retention period. If I perform an auxiliary copy to the new storage, which is connected to the new media agent, will restoring old backups become an issue? Will it require access to the deduplication database of the old media agent? Or does the deduplicated data also copy with auxiliary copy?

Hope to find you in a good shape!In our environment, we are struggling with a problem of NDMP backups on NetApp devices.*It was working just fine before, then just started to act like described below. We do have a couple of subclients/paths configured, and they are randomly failing. No matter if it is Full or Incremental backup, no matter the which backup in a row. Sometimes same subclient might complete few backup in a row, but another one fails. There is no patter, random subclients with a random data amount. Hello,Recently, our customer started to successively remove old .NET libraries from the commvault server. After each library was removed, the operation of the CommVault mail archive was tested. In the end, from the group of .NET Core libraries, the .NET Core 2.1.5 library failed to reinstall. After replacing it with another, newer version, the mail archive stops working.The .NET Core versions tested were 3.1.19, 6.0.1, 6.0.16, 6.0.31.Is there any way to replace the .NET Core 2.1.5 library with another current version? Regards,Michał

Hi, What would be the best way to move forward with a mySQL backup/restore when the traditional backup/restore have slow performance?  Backup is decent but restore of a few GB in a single table takes hours to complete. So, with restore performance in mind, would it be best to update the license model to enable Enterprise SBT-bases backups? Or would a block-based backup be the best way to go? /Patrik

Hello community,11.33.45Trying to configure the Oracle RAC Client for Unified Data Guard and reaching the point of setting up streams.The documentation states: "The archivelog subclient for the primary site should have streams configured only for the primary nodes; the streams for the remaining nodes should be set to 0. For the standby site, configure streams for the standby nodes only and set the remaining node streams to 0 in that standby archivelog subclient. " Question:Should this configuration be done at the RAC subclient level or at the physical node level? :If configured at the RAC subclient level, streams will be set to a value for primary nodes and 0 for remaining nodes. However, after failover, when the standby site takes over backup, since its stream is set to zero, the backup won't run... If streams are set at the physical node level, can the primary node see the standby node?  Morning All,We recently upgrade our environment to 11.32.20 from 11.28.68, post update our clients are unable to perform guest file browse operations from the Admin Console. Prior to the upgrade clients were able to perform these operations without issue. Hi, Can we generate the report for a storage policy to see how much data written daily?For example, I have a storage policy that is scheduled for incremental from Monday to Thursday, and a full on Friday. Can I generate a report to see how much data is written on the full backups on Friday? Thank you.
