how to partition disc in linux to install after commvault in it

i have just installed commvault 2024 plateforme in a vm that contains oracle linux 7.9 and after installe it i wanted to launch the commcell console by using the command : console , but it didnt work .

 I wanted to apply the latest SQL server updates on the SQL Server 2019 backend on my 2 Commservers ( Primary and DR)What are some of the safe and effective steps in doing it without causing any harm on the log shipping already configured.The steps I have in mind so far are as follows:11. Stop all Commvault services  on primary ( Instance001)2. Apply SQL Server updates on Primary and DR Commserver3. Hi All,one of media agent version 11.32.35 with DDB incorrect uninstall all Commvault software, the IndexCache and DDB folder still available we could not find recover procedure from 2023E (11.32), could follow https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/reinstalling_mediaagent_to_different_location.html reinstall commvault media agent in the same server and recover? Best regards

Team,I have setup several sub-clients to perform more parallel and faster backups.  I have some sub-clients that no longer “discover” the VM’s that the pattern matching was set to.Given that, I have now disabled the sub-client schedule.  I DID NOT delete the sub-client.  Question: Since the sub-client is no longer running, will the default sub-client automatically pick up any VM added with the same pattern from the now UNSCHEDULE sub-client?

Hello All,One of customer wants to run SQL LiveSync from T-log backups. They have couple of question related to same. With “Stand By” option and running live sync continuously, at the moment when Live Sync is running the restore from a T-log, will any exiting queries to read the data from the target databases be affected? Can we put blackout window on LiveSync (Replication Job) ? Can we schedule Live Sync to run from 8 AM to 5 PM daily? If so, will it pick up all the T-logs between 6 PM and 7 AM to restore to the target databases as soon as we resume the LiveSync again ? Will there be any IOPs or network bandwidth issue when we run live sync for 4000+ databases at the same time?  

Hello Commvault Community,  Do you know if it is possible to change the screen resolution while performing the 1-touch procedure? When someone uses this solution (1-touch) and has a small screen at their disposal, it is difficult to complete the entire process without using an XML file with embedded answers. A person who uses the 1-touch configuration quite often claims that in previous versions there was no such problem and now the resolution is extremely low (process performed by ISO for SP32).Thanks in advance,Kamil  

The Proactive DBMaintenance shouldnt run on the secondary commserve right? I ask because if the CommServ db is constantly at restoring mode the job cant access the db.

Hello, I have hp 2024 LTO9 tape backup solution in my inventory. The problem is that although the tapes are 45TB RW, it writes less data to 1 tape and switches to the other tape as seen in the attachment. Therefore the system stops. How can I make it write to the same tape until a single 45TB RW tape is full?  

Hello All,I am planning for the expansion of one of our Hyperscale X clusters on Dell Reference Architecture. I have 2 questions that I would love some input on.  -Node LimitOne of my contacts told me that there is a 12-node limit on storage pools (HCX clusters). Then after the 12th node is deployed, we should plan to make a new storage pool. I found that odd because my last contact told me that there was no limit on the number of nodes. The only limit I have heard of is the 5PB capacity that CommVault has tested internally.The no limit is documented here:Storage Pool Expansion and Capacity Planning For HyperScale X Appliance (commvault.com) The only mention of a 12 node limit I could find online is that we can only deploy 12 nodes at a time in the initial configuration. Hi all,after Commvault software upgrade to 11.32.49 Exchange backup is failing with the following error alert - Error - Did not find an exchange server with IDA installed, No Exchange Server available. Indeed, it is not possible to discover active DAG servers. There are only some DAG servers greyed out. However, when trying Check readiness, all seems to be ready. Additionally, we have tried to unistall and install client Commvault software again. Moreover, when tried to add again Exchange client from Client Computer → New Client → Exchange DAG Client → Discover - DAG Discover failed. Do you have any idea how to troubleshoot this issue? Any help will be much appreciated! 

What are folks using for the storage to backend your On-Prem Commvault installation?Today we are using IBM fiber channel arrays.  They are getting a bit old, and we are looking to refresh. Are you using FC SANs? IP?  ISCSI? NFS? SMB?What vendor hardware are you using?  Are you happy with it?Any other info you would like to share would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have some issue with finishing on time with FS Agent backup, the widow time is 6 hours. Till 2 weeks ago i had no probleem with scanning and then starting backup., but now the scan taking to long and then starting of backup taking to long aswell.  Here is some logs of last failed backup. The backup staerting at 2AM, the scan finished at 5AM, there is 3 hour more to take the backup and 8 am the job wil be killed because of run time.  The amount of files is not really changed

I'm working on a project where I need to deploy a software agent to endpoint devices. The requirement is for the deployment to be completely silent and automatic, initiated by a script running on the user's device. Here are the specific details: The script will download the agent from a cloud storage location (e.g., S3 bucket). The downloaded agent will then be automatically installed on the user's device. The entire process should be seamless and require no user interaction. Can someone please help me with the script or any other approach I can take here? Thanks!

Hi,I am unable of restoring a full virtual machine from Nutanix AHV using Command Center.Restoring a Full VM from vCenter is working however.Restoring the VM from AHV using the Commcell Console is also working.Problem was noticed in version 11.34.20. I upgraded today to version 11.34.27. That is no solution.Anyone any idea how to solve this?Regards,Bart

Hi team,We recently set up a trial version of Commvault 11.32.54 on a Hyper-V guest machine. When we attempting to add Hyper-V host (which the guest machine located in) in web console, it shows “Something went wrong. Please check the log for details”.We have installed VSA on both commserve and Hyper V host, and the Hyper V account that is used for authenticate is a part of the “Hyper V Administrators” group.How can we pinpoint the misconfiguration causing this issue?
