Hi,Could you please explain Media agent licensing in 2023E. Platform release change list contains information regarding Active and Inactive MediaAgents (https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/changes_in_commvault_platform_release_2023e.html).It states that media agents will consume some license when you create some storage. What kind of license is mentioned? For example for setup with per-VM licensing model?  Thank you!

IHAC who wants to change from 3DES encryption to AES-256. I know we don’t re-encrypted data that already exists in the library, but the question is do we see a noticeable difference in storage consumption between ciphers? Hi, I have a VM which fails, with error failed to get index information from previous backup. The index cannot be accessed. try again later. I have run a full backup. this completes successfully and then ran an incremental backup on this VM and the issue still persists. This issue is only occurs when you run an incremental backup on this one VM. Are there any suggestion we can try?

Hi Community,how can I update the index status of the Exchange Online Agent?I have currently an Index status of April 10.  When I initiate a mailbox restore, only mails up to April 10 are displayed.  Is it possible to refresh manually the Index Status from the Exchange Online Agent? best regards,Andreas

Hello,Does anyone have a working request body for an out of place restore that goes from Vmware to HyperV?All of the example and docs only talk about going from VMware to Vmware and i cant figure out what all i need to make a valid restore.My main issues right now are i cant seem to get it to cluster the vm, add the nic, or put the vmconfig in the correct place.  I can get it to restore the disks to the correct place but the vm config stays in c:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\iDataAgent\JobResults\CV_JobResults\iDataAgent which isnt going to work.  Also, even though it does put the disks in the correct place, it also appears to leave\start with a copy in c:\windows\vmwaredatastorename, which isnt good either when the vm is large.Here is what i have so far, like it said, it does restore kinda, but i would like to not have to to write some sort of post-processor to make it all work.  Doing it manually works great.Here is what i have so far that i have guessed at from the docs.{"de

I am trying to create a workflow to retire/delete clients for which retain until date is already met but it still exists in storage and console.  I am looking to get a query wherein i can get retain until date of any client which i look for. current environment is> physical server with local mount path ,> os windows 2012 r2 ,> commserv version 11.24. we are implementing hyperscale  x new version  Version Hyperscale ISO 3.2312 CommServe server minimum version 11.32.35 (or later) CommServe Server: System Requirements Windows 2016 above   we need to migrate the commserv to new virtual environment , but to copy the local mount path we dont have space in the virtual environment  inplace upgrade of exsisting physcial machine OS  is challenging   any other options ??

Hello Commvault Community, We are running 11.32.35, right now we have around 70 VMs with Windows and Linux operating systems. We also have a single Media Agent running RHEL.To backup Windows-based VMs, do we need to deploy Windows MA or can we leverage it with existing RHEL MA? Then what about the VSA, is it also has to be windows-based? Please suggest.

I am trying to find a solution in the scheduler to keep my monthly backups in one weekend.At the moment my monthly backups are configured to run the first Saturday and the first Sunday, but these two days aren’t always in the same weekend.How do I adapt the scheduler to select the monthly fulls from the same weekend?

can we use standby commserver at DR location also as a Media agent ? instead of deploying Media agent on other server for Auxcopy (secondary copy)?

We are using a 100M line, and we are currently using a single network to an external DR host as well as a backup.Due to network traffic issues, we had to limit the speed of backups.After looking up the TN, we found that Commvault can be set up the same as QoS using the network throttling function.We understand that this feature will be applied on a policy basis, but we are currently unable to find a place to apply this policy to DRVMs.I'll be waiting for any your comments.Regards
