Hi Team, I saved it as "Save as Script" and Synchronous for 2 separate Windows subclient via Commvault.Let's call them 1.bat and 2.bat.I also created a main.bat and made its content as follows.call 1.batcall 2.batI added Main.bat to the Pre Scan phase in another Windows subclient from the Commvault Console as "C:\CVScript\main.bat".Our expectation was this: main.bat will be triggered by Commvault and first the 1st bat will run, the backup will be completed and then the 2nd bat will run and the backup will be completed. After this, the Pre Scan phase will be completed.Currently, the Pre Scan phase is running, main.bat is running and is completed in 3 seconds, but the 1st and 2nd bats in its content cannot be run. It actually needs to run for about 9 hours.When I manually trigger Main.bat, it works as expected.Does anyone have an idea ?

I’ve run into a problem trying to mount a 54.4TB FC LUN presented to a Linux MediaAgent. A single partition was created using the ‘parted’ utility, and then an XFS file system with a block size of 64k was created using the ‘mkfs.xfs’ command. I'm receiving the following message when trying the mounting xfs filesystem.mount: /mnt/cvstorage: mount (2) system call failed: Function not implementedAny help would be appreciated.

I have few client with Oracle, SQL, SAP databases hosting in the clients.Our current Commvault software version is 11.28 and the few of the clients are in 11.17 and 11.20 versions.I plan to upgrade the software in the client and while pushing the software to this clients, I see 2 options.1.Reboot the client if required.2.Run Database maintenanceNow, if I check the “Run Database maintenance”, What will be the implications?Will it stop the database? or without stopping the database, will it just check the checkdb and reindexall?I need to know if checking the 2nd option will bring the database, as the server that I’m gonna upgrade is production servers.Let me know the best practice. 

Hi Fellas,We have a BI server that we use in our own environment. Here we want to make a report on the BI server. This report will show the following information. It will show information such as Client Name, hostname, type of agent installed on it, content, last backup date according to Agent, whether there is Aux Copy, next backup date. Which tables should we read on CommServ DB for this information? Or is there a SQL Query you know about it? Best Regards.

Hi, When using HyperScale X nodes as VSA’s.  Can they be used for both full VM backup/restores and also File level backup/restores ?Any limitations with OS? Win vs Linux backup/Restores? thank you

Anyone have setup a lab Commserve on a virtual box VM. Mine has a very high cpu and memory usage despite no backups running.I wonder if you guys have setup one before and was able to tweak so it does not consume a lot of cpu and memory even when its idleThis is Commvault v11.32 with the latest hotfix pack already.This is running Server 2019 with SQL server 2019 as the SQL backend for Commvaultrunning this on a makeshift virtual box VMThanks for any tips and tricks you can provide

We use Oracle on a Linux servers. The Linux teams installs the Oracle agent for us.All Linux servers are VMware servers. When we check the Java Console. Sometimes we only see the Oracle agent and the other time we see Oracle agent and Virtual server.What is happening here.Perhaps Commvault installs the agent voor VMware/ Oracle application Aware backup?Can anyone help? 

Good Morning,We need to restore data from S3 which is secondary copy with a retention of 90 days. Last backup was a year ago, so retention period is expired.Obviously, the jobs have been expired but if we check content on S3 we can see the data is still on it.However, if we check content from S3 library on CommCell the data on media is not available.Is it possible to restore this backups by anyway? Thx in advanced and Regards.

Hi,I found the bellow settings for a couple of Windows File System subclients.After reading https://documentation.commvault.com/11.16/subclient_properties_retention.html. Am I to understand the Minimum retention based on file modification time’s “Retain objects indefinitely” as the objects will never be aged and never get to the Deleted item retention?Eg. if File1 is created and changed and three months later deleted. It will still exist in the store 3 years after deletion time….  

So I`m working on permissions and making sure users only have access to the appropriate entities and interfaces.We are AD Integrated and so all users have access to the “My data” via webconsole which is intended and works fine - Our administrators have access to everything and perform multiple backup operations throughout the day.Since all users (admins and non-admins) are AD integrated, when I go to Command Center and select Domain Users and Restricted Consoles, add CommandCenter, CommCell Console, API etc, and hit ok - our Admins even though they are part of another group without the regular restrictions applied to regular users, they too lose access to the mentioned consoles. It kind makes sense, it applies the most restrictive permission to all Domain Users.Any alternative here to exclude those admins from getting restricted by that Console Restriction within the domain users group?We do not want to create local admin accounts.https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/res

How does a customer determine the MS SQL Version that is currently in use on the Commserve? Customer would like to check the version to determine if an upgrade is needed.

Hello Guys :)  @large environments: How do you monitor (proactive) CommVault - CommServe, MediaAgents, xAgents, Jobs, Logs, Dedup Engine/Performance, Alerts, Reports, ... and so on? I've used Nagios with checkmk. But what is the current  "state of the art"? Buzzword AI. For example, I like how Azure is handling all the metrics, and can solve some problems by itself or can give you useful informations, can trigger events/processes, can "learn” - and for example, can create trouble tickets or something similar. Which tool makes your life easier? Grafana? Excited about your feedback(s) :). Cheers!

Hello,we have customer with SAP Installation based on DB2 which on Netapp NFS Storage.We would like to use Intellisnap Snapshot function with DB2 and NFS Volumes.If I check the Intellisnap Matrix :https://documentation.commvault.com/snap/#/storage_check?fq.EngineName=NetApp&fq.protocolName=NFS&fq.AgentName=DB2Intellisnap is not supported with NFS & DB2.Is this still correct - because in general it is supported why not with NFS or is there any newer information which I missed.Thanks for a short update here.Thx & BRMarcel

Hi all, I have a short question.We are planning to back up our four Exchange DAG-Cluster. The CommServe and MediaAgents are in different VLANs (subnet) as the Exchangeserver/DAG-IP are.For sure, I have to create a firewall rule for the communication between  CS/MA and the Exchangeserver (where the iDA is installed). But the question is, do I also need to create a firewall rule for communication (8400/8403) between the CS/MA and the IP address of the DAG-IP logical object? Many thanks in advance!Skoomer

Hi all, is it possible to age/reset the password for a commvault user immediately?I only find the possibility to set the age value to ‘1’. ‘0’ is not allowed I think…So is there a way to force the user to enter a new password with the next login like a domain user with the option “User must change password at next logon”?Many thanks and regardsSkoomer

Hello Commvault Community, Environment version: SP32I am now testing the 1-touch procedure for Laptops with Win10 Pro. The 1-touch process itself runs successfully, but I noticed that it doesn’t collect Commvault directories, so the machine was recreated using the 1-touch mechanism without the entire Commvault structure (C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore is empty, there are no binaries there). I checked whether it was collecting data at the very beginning of the first Full Backup and the answer is - it isn’t collecting it. Backup is performed on the default subclient, so "/" is indicated in Content, which says that everything that can be backed up using the FS agent will be protected, but this doesn’t happen. Backup System State is also enabled, I haven't added any filters. The only thing that worries me is the fact that this is a newly created Backupset, because when a laptop is recognized as a Laptop, it is assigned a "Subclient Policy", which changes the Content for the defaul

Hello -  Windows environment Commvault 11.28.107.For a vcenter client Im having a difficulty in trying to filter VMs by an IP range.   Is this even possible.  Thanks in advance 

Command center dashboard is not displaying and showing errors. I turned off firewall and still giving the same error. it doesn’t matter if I access the command center from the server or different workstation, results are the same. Commvault server is virtualized if that info is any helpful
