Hello folks,I have a role with permissions to perform certain operations for platform users. In this role, only the restore "In Place Recover" and "In Place Full Machine Recovey" of the VM is allowed, but when updating to version 11.32.38 .In the command center, when restoring a VM, I get the "Out Place" option, which should not appear because I do not have those permissions; in the previous version 11.28.68 it did not appear as it should.Regards.

There is such a method - according to the cat, I can get a request from the developers of Commvault - GET <webservice>/Client HTTP/1.1 Yes, it returns a list of all objects, but there is not complete information about the object and there is a method for obtaining complete information - GET <webservice>/Client/{ClientID} HTTP/1.1 The question is that I have a list of unique IDs or Names and I want to upload full information on them right away, but there is no way in Python to do this. Is it possible to do this at all, or will you have to cycle through all the IDs and unload them piece by piece and slowly?

Hi all,I would like to discuss location and sizing of fundamental installation directory. Installation Path - it should be the local system disk, required space will be used from the system diskIndex Cache Path - it shouldnt be the local system disk, at least 200GB free space neededDatabase Engine Installation Path - could it be the local system drive? The space is allocated by the installer itselfCommserve Database Installation Path - at least 200 GB free space for Medium environment, should it be different than local drive?Disaster Recovery Path - it has to be available if the local system crashesCheers!

Every once in a while my Java session will crash and leave a workflow “locked” By me, and it won’t allow me to make modifications. I know that restarting the workflow services will unlock it, but there is a way that doesnt require cycling services?

My sysadmin just noticed we’re running the obsolete Office 2013 on my CommVault mailbox proxy / O365 proxy / web server INF-SRV113.  My recollection is that this is required for CommVault to work properly (possibly the Compliance Search feature). Are there any challenges or gotchas with uninstalling Office 2013 and installing Office 2019? Will CommVault automagically start using the new version of Office?Ken

We are currently having performance issues with our backups of Dynamics 365 and are looking to use the "Enable Table Change Tracking" feature.The owning team have sought clarification on whether or not this option is simply enabling and leveraging the Dynamics 365 Change Tracking feature, and if so, what implications could that have for their environment?Also, is there any indication as to when / if we can expect Dynamics 365 to be included in the core Commvault platform?

I would like to ask for opinions /best practice from field experts on how to build a properly configured VMware VSA proxy which is going ot be use primarily using the hotadd transport.  I have not seen any information in Commvault books online on the details on how to build.Information I am looking such as:1. How many disks and sizes for each2. Hi All.I have a setup with DD9400 which is my production library and I have replication to Vault which is DD9900. We are trying to restore the data which is from the vault in the production site. I have created one mtree/storage and made it as library, I have created one more mtree/storage and made it as my vault replication. I want to restore the data which is getting replicated from vault to prod. Is it possible to do this task in Commvault. RegardsVijay

Hello guys,  I have 2 Maxdb databases configured in the same client where one of them completes sucessfully and the another one gets the following error: Details:OK ERR -24927,ERR_TOOLCHK: External backup tool not found The file '/opt/commvault/SapMaxDbAgent/in' already exists. I already remove the in, out and err files from the directory, but the error persist. Could you please helpe me fixing it?

Hi All, i have an to do Moving a Mount Path to an Existing Device . So what i have done: Disabel for new data weeks ago Today disable mountpath for pruning Added an new mountpath in disc the library starte the move mountpath operation Job started and now copy data So thats all okay bute now i have a question. Actually the schedule is off.  But how can i prevent that backups are written to the new mountpath when i enable the schedule. 

 Is there a way to reduce M365 licenses? We have already deactivated the Teams backups and Sharepoint backups because there is also an Azure recycle bin available. One idea would be to reduce the retention time. Does this mean anything in terms of licenses? Thanks for your tips!

we have diffrenet policy for database and its logs , storage policy retention are diffrenet for log is 1 day and db its 14 days , however logs are not getting pruned and when running the forcast report the DB backup job needs the logs  is it expected ?

Actually, I want to configure DR site and replicate VM on DR site.  How ?as I think, first ready DR commvault site, means separately install commserve on different location with multi-instance on primary site and then live sync option through VM replicate to DR site.Right?.If I am wrong, then please correct and guide me.   

Hi, I just have a question that in the File Level Backup, we have an option to use VSS, and the default for this option is to use for the locked files only. I have 1 physical server, and Commvault gave an ERROR CODE [7:332]: “High contribution of backup data from locked files is observed. Consider enabling VSS for all files for this subclient for more efficient backups, while monitoring to ensure that the VSS snapshot does not unduly affect the performance of the computer.” So, should I enable the VSS to all files instead of locked file only?Thank you.

Hello,I have a SolarWinds SNMP server that takes all Windows events from the Microsoft Event Viewer. It took Event 256. But inside this event, there are other events that start at 4125*. Can I filter these numbers to understand which job they are related to?

Hi I am trying to run CVDiskPerf on a HyperScale X ver. 3 node that have ransomeware protection enabled.  I am logged in as root, but when I am trying to execute the cvdiskperf command, I am getting “-bash: ./CVDiskPerf: Permission denied”.I have used this command on a HyperScale X ver. 2 cluster without any permission issues when I am logged in as the root user.Does any one know how to solve this problem= 

Testing the Oracle agent on Centos 07 and when following the deployment guide using the web interface and adding a server / instance i noted that the Media Agent package is selected for installation and subsequently installed/ Why so???? It shows in Console having a red icon so hasn't consumed a licence but why would it install?
