Need best practices to configure retention for Oracle DB Archive backup

Hi Team,We have oracle DBs which is having below schedules and retentionWeekly FUll DB Backup- 3 months (Schedule - second, third , fourth and fifth week of month)Month FUll DB Backup - 1 Year ( Schedule First week of month)Archives - Incremental Every 3hrs retention 3 months.I have below queries here1) I am having archive backup retention 3 months. If i get a restore request for the monthly Full Backup data (which was backed up one year ago) + Archives. Is it possible to restore the archives since i am having only 3 months of retention for the archives. If this is not possible what action i have to take here so that monthly DB backup + Archives can also be retained for 1 year + whatever archives are backed up for the weekly FULL backup those archives should be retained for only 3 months.Kindly suggest what changes are required here so that we can do apply to our setup.

Commvault upgrade feature release SP9 to SP24

Holly crap! That is a big step! Really curious why you are still running on SP9/FR9. This version is unsupported so upgrades from this version are not part of the validation and regression tests, so I would indeed take a careful approach and first see if you can create a test environment to see if the upgrade will succeed.

Hi,I'm getting the error [24:64] Description: There was nothing to restore - subclient(s) not backed up.When I do the restore of the virtual machine the restore works normally, but when I restore the guest files and folder, the commvault shows this error. I can also browse the files normally, does anyone have any idea what might be going on? restores are for Nutanix AHV.

Commvault Windows agent is failing to reinstall

Good Day. I have a customer server that is having an issue with a Commvault reinstallation. The Commvault agent was corrupted. The recommendation from the Commvault Knowledge base was to uninstall using the Microsoft uninstall tool. The MS uninstall tool ran successfully but the Commvault reinstallation is still failing. When we execute the Commvault ContentStore we get “No 11.0 instance is installed on the setup.” Has anyone experienced this behavior and if so, please point me to documentation that can help resolve this issue. Thanks.

Workflow Datacenter refresh?

You can refresh data-centers from the GUI, is there an equivalent for the REST api?The api explorer has /v2/vsa/hypervisor/clientID/refresh But that seems to only refresh the actual DC list, rather than the VM list. Basically I want to be able discover a VM that is not currently a part of a subclient. Thanks.Chris.

Hi, have anyone made a script or used cli commands to control the procedure of shutting down an entire commserve environment in windows.I suppose you can do most of the stopping services with windows powershell , but how to disable all activity in commserve.

Hello, We have very bad performance for our backup environment. Slow running DDB’s, high Q&I etc. We found out that we have 10 times lessor IOPS for our Media Agents . What is the procedure to increase IOPS for the existing Media agents ?

Change S3 Storage Class without having to resend data from site

I currently have a S3 bucket that is configured for Standard which is not our best practice. I want to change the data in the bucket to One Zone-IA to match the new uploads coming from the site. Can that be done via the S3 bucket or what is a good recommendation? I am trying to avoid a whole new upload form the site.

Downloading Maintenance Release Version

Is there a reason that the “Latest Fixes for Current Release:” is much lower than the actual latest maintenance release? For example, my current “Latest Fixes for Current Release:” is 11.24.34 but 11.24.43 was released April 5th? I’m thinking I might have to upgrade to 11.24.34 first then onto 11.24.43, is this the case?

Noticed FR26 delivered a cloud library configuration setting seen from within Command Center named "Cache configurations".Can someone enlighten me what it is and what it does? I can't find any information on the documentation site.

Only Backup Files created or modified on and after option for multiple servers at once

We have recently started using the “Only Backup files created or modified on and after” option with our subclients. Its a great feature however I can only seem to set it by going to each server one by one. Is there a scrip that I can run with a list of servers to set this option for all subclients on that server along with the time zone and date in one go? We only want to roll this feature out to certain servers in batches, which is why I am hoping there is a scrip to do this. Thank you for any help you can give.

I ma getting backup failure in our openstack vm’s due to Insufficient cinder quota to create VM Snapshot: Failed to meet minimum 10 percent avaliable quota limit. Available: 176 GB, Required: 500 GB, In-Use: 4824 GB (out of 5000). Is there away to increase cinder volume and as well as decrease the cinder quota( where to do this)?

Options to improve large SQL DB restore performance?

Folks,I believe the answer might be Intellisnap but figured I’d ask the Community. My DBAs are having a hard time being able to restore a 7TB database. We have restore timeouts set to 24 hours which is a lot of time. I understand that SQL restores will only use 1 thread. I am aware of some of the tuning params for SQL backups but is there anything we can do to speed up restores on the Commvault side for large DB restores? We get excellent read throughput on the storage side per mountpath (around 1500 MB/s).I’ve been told Intellisnap is the way but I might not get support to go down that road. Thank you
