Hello all, I’m trying to configure my OCI into Commvault to test this tool (I’m using trial licence) but I’m dealing with some errors as shown bellow: What certificate is this? How can I install it? And where? Then, I use the CloudTestTool and it shows this: Look at the log file: 4228 2274 10/12 12:54:02 ### GetTenancy() failed. I’m getting the following alert email roughly once an hour:> Anomaly Notification> The system detected an unusual drop in the pruning performance for the following databases in commcell <CommServer_Host>> Deduplication Database Reason> HyperScale_Primary inrease in (CommServe Job Records to be Deleted)> CV Cloud Storage increase in (CommServe Job Records to be Deleted)> Please click here for more details. When I follow the “click here” link, I see:> 1 CommServe Job Records to be DeletedThis has been going on for a couple of weeks. I don’t think an annoying email is a big enough deal to open a ticket for but I’d still like to clean this up. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? I’m sorry to say the CommVault help pages for this are not very useful. Ken
Hello,We are seeing a very large random read load on our Hitachi G350 backup storages with NL-SAS disks. These random reads are completely consuming our backup storage performance. We have two G350s on campus and a third at a remote site. Commvault runs copy jobs between these three G350s.DDB is on NVMe locally in the Media Agent, also the Index Cache Disk.We ran several analyses and Live Optics showed us that the daily change rate is 334.9%, which is mainly due to the Windows File System policy, for which we see 2485.1% daily change rate.Does anyone know how the random read load could be reduced since our disk backup is otherwise unusable. What steps could we take to optimize the Commvault configuration?Screenshot: Thanks for your help!
Pretty straight forward there is a process for manually removing the Linux/Unix clients but I can’t for the life of me find the documentation. The standard methods such as cmvpkgrm are failing. If you have it on it hand please share. Thanks.Chris.
Hi guys, due to loss of a complete mailbox we had to restore all objects of the user back to an empty mailbox. Environment is EWS-based, hybrid Exchange, Mailbox v2, incremental forever...The user has the habit to move all mails from inbox to folders, keeping inbox “clean”. Oftentimes this move happens only days after receiving the mail.So after successfull restore the user found 80% of the mails in the inbox, because that’s where they were when the backup ran. While, yes, all objects are restored, it’s for from optimal behaviour, as you can imagine.Apaprently moving mail objects from one folder to another in outlook means deleting the object at the source and creeating a new object (with a new GUID) at the destination. Commvault has no chance of tracking the object’s “journey” within the mailbox. So it’s “works as designed”. Since Full backups are not supported (which would probably index all objects as-is again), we’re stuck. Is this something you have experienced / are aware of? Is t
Why isn't there a pop up/dialog box for SQL restores, confirming the source and destination? This would be really helpful to review the restore before we submit to avoid any human errors? How shall we enable this? or request for this?

In this release we offer new ways to detect and recover from ransomware to help keep your data safe, because if you can’t protect your data, nothing else we do to manage your data matters. In addition, as enterprise IT continues to modernize and transform, we look to make that job easier. With this release we also bring the most complete enterprise-grade protection for containers and Kubernetes than ever before, along with new ways to protect and increase performance in your Azure Cloud ecosystem. All, again, integrated into a single unified platform so that no matter how you expand or transform your envir
Hello friends, please your kind help as always, I have some HP-UX 11.61 PA-RISC servers and equipment, I have read that it is not supported in Commvault, but does anyone know any alternative with which I can back them up?
Ran into a small issue with plans when trying to define two datacenters(regions) in same city. Trying to figure out if this is intended behavior, or if I have misunderstood the region concept totally. In the two datacenters I have workloads that should be backed up locally and then replicated to the other datacenter, so i set up the serverplan to be regionbased. However I was unable to add the new destination, since the regions was so similar. I had to change the city of one of them to be able to use it. It then works as intended, using the region of the client to decide where to backup. However, I can see having multiple DC’s in same city as being relevant. Wouldn’t it be better to use the name of the region as the only validator and not the city. Using just the city as metadata, or is there another thought behind this?As a workaround I know I could derive the plan and get a new server plan where i specify storage the other way around, but i like the concept of regionbased, except that
Hello,we have two SQL Vmware VMs building a MSSQL AG. Is it possible to backup these nodes and SQL with VSA app aware backup? Thanks and regards,Thomas
More organizations are employing real-time analytics and insights to support the success of their digital transformation. For many, SAP HANA is their database of choice. SAP HANA is a large-scale, in-memory database used for real-time data processing and next-gen analytics and can be deployed both on-premises and in cloud infrastructure. With business growth, there comes an increase in data management operations including data backup. SAP HANA provides various data protection capabilities. To help ensure data persistence and protection from memory failure, HANA periodically writes the changed data (data volume) to disk with logs containing data changes (log volume). To further protect from system failures, the data and log volumes must be backed up to other storage media. SAP HANA provides configurable backup settings in ini and APIs to be integrated with third-party vendors to fetch consistent data for backup. The data volumes are protected in complete (Full) and delta (Incremental) Wit
We have IntelliSnap configured on the DELL EMC Isilon shares. Backups runs fine. no issues. While we restore the files /folders from the snap. both the files and folders have the latest timestamp instead of the original modified timestamp. Could you explain why is that so and do you have any reference to CommVault / DELL EMC documentation about it.
Is there a specific upgrade path to follow when going from 11.20.77 to 2022E?Is this something a customer can do on their own or should they request assistance making a jump of this nature? Thanks!
Dear team, Redis v6.2.xx. OS: Debian 10, is supported from Commvault? Thanks,Amr
why ? End users use DFS paths and the fs path backup up is the direct path which is generally not known to end users
i am looking at ways to streamline my backups (for disaster recovery purposes). i backup up millions of small files, many haven’t been accessed or modified in years. i was wondering if there was any way i can add a date exclusion - eg dont backup a file that hasnt been accessed in over 2 years. i have been having a look but cant see anything so i thought it would ask the question here. thanks
Hi,We use Commvault as a multi-tenant backup solution for several customers. I created a User Group for a specific tenant, gave it the Browse and Restore role on their own entity, made it member of the CV_Restricted_Visibility group and hide all items in the Command Center Navigation Pane except Protect (some sub items) and Jobs. Meaning of this is, I want the tenant to be able to perform restores (and nothing more) / use the Command Center as a “Restore Portal” only. This worked fine but...I now see this tenant gets a “License and Registration” pop-up because we as the service provider need to renew our license within 2 months. I don't want the tenant to see this. The pop-up contains a link which can even be clicked and followed by the tenant with only these limited rights! Is there a possibility to hide this “License and Registration” pop-up from the tenant? Thanks!
Hi, currently i am using Commserve version 11.24.48 and i have settings for add the exchange index node. i have already have one server running with 4TB HDD for index only. Let say i add another node and have same spec as the first one. For just a confirmation, is there the load balancing will move the existing index data at first node to new node?if i did not select the load balancing, is there it will keep the own index data itself? Also is i will face any issue on current index data if i add new index server with load balancing enable.Any suggestion before i perform this add node into existing system to prevent any data lost? Appreciate advice from expertise. Thanks.
