I would like to get confirmation about bellow requirements if its applicable or not .!! -  Drive With SharePoint and OneDrive On-Prim  ( Can Share File Or Folder Located on SharePoint Or OneDrive  From E-Drive Interface ). -    Integrate 2-Factore authenticator With our One Identity Defender To Centralized only one Token as we have defender as our token  -    Need more elaboration for       DLP With Edge Drive . Is it has its own Data classification or we can integrate with third party Data classification application .

Has anyone seen the error below? I just created a new Storage Policy , associated it to the client and did the test and it is returning the following error:  

When I add a new subclient for Amazon vms and for content I select a region, will it automatically back up any new vms added to the region? The subclients do not have the “all unprotected vms” option.Thanks

Hi,Somehow I could not find any information on whether Commvault is affected by CVE-2022-21449, the Java “Psychic Signatures” vulnerability. It seems to affect only JDK 15 or later.. Is there anybody having the information on this?Thank you. 

We recently did some rebalancing on our Hyper-V cluster and I’m wondering what actions I need to take in Metallic if any. Most of the machines that were moved are still using the hypervisor and VM group that they were previously on. I tried moving one of the smaller low priority machines to the new hypervisor as a test and it appears that it had to do a full backup after the move, but that may be my fault because I couldn’t find any documentation for the process and had to wing it. One of the machines still using the old hypervisor is the file server so I would really prefer to not have to do another full image on it again. My main questions are:Do they need to be moved to the corresponding hypervisor? If so, how do I do that without causing a full image backup? If not, are those backups still using the previous host in some way?

For example:I have a SQL Server, were I want the File system backups to go to policy a, the sql data to policy b, and the sql logs to policy c.This obviously cannot be done in the QUI, but can it done via rest? Thanks.Chris.

We have noted that CPU load is high“In virtualized environments (e.g.,LPAR, WPAR, Solaris Zones etc.,) where dedicated CPUs are not allocated, backup jobs may result in high CPU usage on production servers. The following measures can be taken to optimize the CPU usage”Best Practices - AIX File System (commvault.com) The steps were covered and additional registry keys to limit CPU load and core usage were set in place. Switching deduplication to MediaAgent didn’t provided sufficient change, almost no CPU consumption change was in place. Only jobs without deduplication consumes less CPU, but we cannot use them. At the end we can limit CPU load to 50-60% from up to 90%, but it impacts the backup duration few times. Playing with streams is not an option too since additional CPU consumption occurs. We manage the Commvault service for a customer.In the CommServe, the customer has more than 1500 clients.Whenever there is a new client, the customer will install Commvault on their client, and we configure the backup in the CS when the new client appears.However, the customer doesn’t install the same version as the CS. They always use an older version.Is there a way to push the correct version to new clients automatically?Today, hundreds of the customer’s clients have an older version, and we would like them to get on the same version as CS.Is there a best practice for keeping clients up to date?We have discussed creating an automatic group and add a rule for clients with status “Needs update”, but we are concerned it will create issues for the customer or the CS, like delay in backups or overload the CS..?How does CS queue the update jobs, if we have a group with 300 clients and push update to the entire group..?

 We have a Schedule Policy for Linux clients with two tasks: one for Incremental and one for Synthetic Full based on automatic schedule settings.We noticed that Synthetic Full is running once per week.    

For the most part, we use VMware… in our 2 Data Centers We have Remote Branch Offices (17), that will be getting new Physical Servers, that will run M$ Hyper-V on them.  We will have 2 Virtual Servers under each Hyper -V Server.  One of the VM’s will be running Servers roles (DFS, SCCM distro points, and DHCP).  The other will be for File storage (user and Groups files).From the CommServe Console, I have installed the CV Client on the Physical server.Looking for High level planning on how to back up this Model….Do I install the CV Client on the VM’s too?

Last week one of our customers asked us if Commvault was using Python as they were investigating the vulnerability CVE 2015-20107. I found through another community post that Metrics servers or CommServes with metrics package are using Python.Python 3 usage on CommserveAll versions of Python are currently vulnerable (up to latest release 3.10.4) so in-place patching of Python will no resolve this vulnerability in Python.Is Commvault vulnerable and what workarounds and/or mitigations are recommended?

I have seen a few comments on this subject but i still cannot find the linux commserv software. I have used the download manager and here is the contents of the latest v11.25 Media kit, v11.26 is the same. Should i be be seeing the Commserve module for linux also ??? Thanks, Phil

My companies Security team is evaluating the strength of the vendor sites we connect to and I have a question about what _exactly_ we are connecting to when we access the CommVault Metallic cloud storage. If I go into the java GUI > Storage Resources > Libraries > CV Cloud Storage > Properties, I don’t see anything that indicates the actual destination.If I use a browser and connect to the Command Center interface and go to Storage > Metallic Cloud Storage, there’s no detailed information there either.Is there a way for me to see the destination for the Metallic Cloud storage so I can pass that on to my security team for documentation and review?  I’m looking for something similar to xxx.commvault.com or xxx.comvaultsaas.com. Ken 

We have been waiting 6 months for a demo of Metallic Cloud Storage to test cloud second copy from our on-prem Commvault. Is this something Metallic does not do?Do I have to just buy a small amount of space, month to month, in order to test your product?All I get from sales is “I’ll follow up with the team on this”.We just want to verify how it works before buying 100 TB of Metallic Cloud Storage Service - Commvault

I read that its advisable (but not required) to update the commserve MSSQL DB to 2019, but this can always be done later.I heard that when updating Oracle clients (or clients that have Oracle on them), the upgrade of the CommVault client will restart the Oracle database.  I’m not seeing this specified anywhere, but here: Planning Feature Release Installations (commvault.com) its mentioned “Prepare block-level clients for restart after feature release installations”… but, how do I determine what is block level and what is not?  Are Oracle clients ( or SAP for Oracle) “Block level” by default?Are there any other things to consider that are known special things for this upgrade, of any “restarts’ of apps on servers being backed up (like oracle) being restarted/impacted by a commvault upgrade?Note: I have commvault servers/proxies/media agents still running Windows 2012, and this is planned to be updated (via hardware refresh at future dat), but not sure if 2012 is a problem for sp24.

Hello, Would anybody know how to troubleshoot 403 forbidden API error? I am trying to acquire QSDK token, well basically to login, to continue my queries, but it straight away gives out 403 error. I don’t even see the attempt in webserver.log of commcell to which I query for QSDK token..Ports 80,443 are open and working correctly, all firewalls are allowed.. I am not even sure where to check.    auth[‘url] variable is: http://ipaddressofcommcell/webconsole/api/self.cs_login_url variable is: '<DM2ContentIndexing_CheckCredentialReq mode="Webconsole" username="<<username>>" password="<<password>>" />' Does not matter what credentials I use, I’ve tried admin account of commcell, I’ve tried my own domain account, with all of them I can login to JAVA GUI with no issues. Any ideas where to start looking?

HiI’m trying to do a 1-Touch restore on Linux, but we do not have DNS in the network used for restore.Is it possible to exit the YAST2 configuration and edit the host file before continue?(I need to add some DNS addresses to the /etc/hosts file).I know there is a feature for Windows, where F6 will bring up the CMD, which have solved the problem on that platform. Hope you can help.

Hello Community,We would like some clarification about the application sizes that are reported in the command center for the O365 apps.When looking at directly an exchange application (see screenshot 1), we can find a value for associated entities and a value for application size. It seems that the associated entities are related to the number of mailboxes protected. But what is the exact definition for the value reported under “Application size” ? Is it the cumulativ total size protected since the beginning of backups ? or is it the size at instant t of exchange data on the tenant ?When looking at the chargeback details report for the same client (which has only one exchange online client configured) (see screenshot 2), we don’t find the same values. There is a FET size which is less than the Application size reported at the client level, and the mailbox count is only 46, while there are 67 mailboxes backed up.Does someone know the exact definitions of the values provided at these 2 l

Hi Team,I would like to clarify / check some about the Exchange Index Restore.In my environment we have Index folder separately for exchange index catalog/metadata. May i know below:1. Is the restore index will rebuild from last hour it was backup?2. What are the procedure to rebuild the index after restore?3.
