Hi All,I am running CommServe in VMware. I have noticed that the CPU load is continuously rising.In five days after startup it linearly rose from 1.2 GHz to 8 GHz. After restart it fell back to 1.2 GHz but is rising again.Memory consumption is increasing too.CommServe version is 11.26.8.Top CPU consumer in Task Manager is “Apache Commons Daemon Service Runner” / “Commvault Content Extractor (Instance001)”.No jobs are running since yesterday - scheduler has been disabled (it is demo installation). Any ideas? Regards,Lubos

Hello community !Our organization consist of one main AD domain, and several groups, faculties and institutes (i.e departments).At many of these sub-division we have backup admins who needs to be in control of the backup of their machines. ( i.e Tenant Admins)Since Company is the only organizational unit in Commvault my initial thought was to assign separate companies to the departments, but I have been unable to find a way to assign several Companies to the same identity server (Active Directory) with group separation. Does anyone know any best practice/advice on how to divide a huge AD with lots of OU’s and groups into a viable organization structure in Commvault ? Kjell Erik Furnes  

After moving the index server to a new server, some users have STUBS with an incorrect link - i.e. the host has not changed.Please help, how can this be changed for the entire organization?I will be very appreciate for help.  

Install software is failing on our side with the following error Error Code: [68:192] Description: Software Cache is empty or does not contain the packages required for client's operating system. i tried download/copy software option and job is completed without errors but still facing the above same issue in the install software.

We do a DR test every year and most of our servers are Virtual which makes it SUPER easy.  However we have 2 servers that are physical.  Last year I had an issue once I got Commvault finally installed on the new physical server and named the server the same name and IP and everything as what is on our production system I couldn’t get it to connect with commvault to restore to.  Its possible there was issues at the facility, but I am wondering best practices for how to make this work smooth.  Should we be adding commvault to a blank server and then connecting it back in with the same name or add the server as a generic name and push software to it from commvault and then rename it to what our system normally sees.  I hope this makes a little sense and is not just a rambling question, if so forgive me for that one.  Thanks for all the help.

Folder in Outlook calendar with calendar appointments are restored as mail type and not as calendar folder. Also all entries in this folder are mail type. Is this a known issue? Thank you.

Hello there. In the last couple of months I was asked by a few customers where all the data growth on their disk libraries came from. And by digging deeper into that topic I tried to understand the data and statistics from the DDBs. I had to realize that some of those statistics seem to be very odd and that I don’t understand them. So maybe someone can enlighten me. Let’s take a look at a screenshot from statistics of a “normal” DDB: So what do we got here:Deduplication Engine Name: self-explanatoryCreation Time: self-explanatoryVersion: I just take this as it is but is there anything out there but Version 11? Does it refer to Commvault 11? I thought a recent DDB should be Version 5 (or 4.2 if you prefer) and a somewhat older DDB should be version 4. So what does “11” mean”?Total Application Size: AFAIK this is the total data that got backed up into this DDB. There is an option in gxtail to connect to remote logs and it has fields for authentication, but when I populate those fields it does not work. is it supposed to work? Am I missing something?

Is it possible to backup a directory and its subdirectories (several levels deep) and exclude all files, using a Windows File System agent, i.e. I only want to backup the directory structure.  I’ve looked at Filters and wildcards but could not see how to achieve this.

Hi， I have the below question from customer:   Endpoint licensing is based on users and 1 user is limited to 5 devices. What happens if the user logs in to like 6 or 7 devices? What variation happens in licensing? If a user is the owner of more than 5 devices, is still one endpoint license counted for this user? Is there any license over-usage alert to be generated or functional limitation in Commcell?

Hi community!We just started to use the Commvault Command Center, is there a possibility to create a 1 touch response xml file from the web interface?As we also backup our windows PCs in production with commvault, this would give the shift leaders an opportunity to restore their machines (in case of a disaster), by simply creating a response file, copy it to a 1 touch provisioned usb drive, and exchange the hdd before starting to restore.

I was wondering if the flashback command is or isn’t supported once backups are moved into Commvault, particularly if not, then does Commvault mimic that functionality? I was told that this command isn’t able to be used and as we are doing a PoC of these agents, nothing turns up in any searches of the documentation.thanks

Hi Team,If we use third party Key management server such as AWS KMS with Commvault , will there be any impact on backups and recovery throughput or performance .Iam assuming that Encryption keys retrieval is faster when its present in CS database as compared to retrieve keys from third part KMS  ? Let me know if my understanding is not right .Also , during a backup or recovery job does encryption keys retrieval from CS DB or third party KMS happen only 1 time or it will be continuous for each and every block/chunk ?
