Failed to backup virtual server Error code 19:857description: error downloading virtual machine config file only 2 virtual servers failed to be backed up, all other virtual servers backup work properly

I have few endpoints which are offline at time scheduled backup due to person being in field.I want those backup to auto start after 1 hour if the scheduled backup fails how can i do that?  

Is there a way to do an LDAP search from within a workflow?I don’t mean using something like powershell. The Commserve can be configured for LDAP authentication, is there any way to use that same LDAP connection to do a query?  

Whether Oracle DB Version 11.2, 12.1 compatible with CommVault 11.20 to take Oracel/DB Level backups. Please provide compatability list for the same

Folks,I believe the answer might be Intellisnap but figured I’d ask the Community. My DBAs are having a hard time being able to restore a 7TB database. We have restore timeouts set to 24 hours which is a lot of time. I understand that SQL restores will only use 1 thread. I am aware of some of the tuning params for SQL backups but is there anything we can do to speed up restores on the Commvault side for large DB restores? We get excellent read throughput on the storage side per mountpath (around 1500 MB/s).I’ve been told Intellisnap is the way but I might not get support to go down that road. Thank you

Hello, I have upgraded from version 11.25 to 11.26 in the normal way.Unfortunately, the system has completely stopped running, when I try to start the Commcell Console it cannot find the javaw.exe file. How to proceed with the repair?Thank you.

Noob SQL query. Can SQL Transaction log backups be performed using different backup solutions, such as Commvault and native log backup?We have a customer who performs tlog backups every hour and a daily full backup using SSMS native backup tool (not a copy-only backup).AppAware is also used to run a full Snapcopy backup of MS SQL on commvault.The customer has requested that transaction log backups in Commvault be performed every 15 minutes in addition to the hourly native log backups. My understanding is that if we use separate backup solutions, we might end up with one solution containing one chunk of log backup data and the other containing another chunk of data.As a result, neither solution has a consistent chain that allows for point-in-time recovery.Is my understanding correct?Could someone please suggest the best solution to this?Should I ask the customer to disable native backups and rely solely on Commva

I'm new to Commvault and SQL and could use some help.  Our organisation is considering making the switch from native SQL server administration tools to CommVault's enterprise backup/recovery solution. I gathered the following information from the change request: We use local backup Maintenance plan in SQL server. There is a native daily full backup scheduled at 6 p.m., as well as a transaction log backup scheduled every hour, with a retention of 7 days.  Management is planning on doing SQL backups (daily full + transaction log) using Commvault and will be disabling all native SQL backup jobs once Commvault backups are configured. At any point in time they do not want to overlap the transaction log backup scheduled between the two solution to avoid backup chain breaks. On CommVault side they are planning to do both Agent and VSA Appaware backups. They want to do high transaction db backups using agent and dev SQL DB backup using app aware to save on

We have been using Azure Storage accounts as offsite libraries for years.   We fully take advantage of cool storage tier, but with our usage history, I would like to start setting the Commvault Azure Libraries to archive storage tier.   What is the best way to get the blobs assigned to the archive tier?  I assume that only new written data will have archive and the rest will have COOL, until it is pruned.  Retention varies from 1 year to upwards of 10years.  Is there a native workflow available, or should I think about creating a new library and AUX copy the data into the new configuration.  

HiI have been search Commvault documentation and I could not fine an answer on my question, that´s why I am asking here. I want to create an Intellisnap of an ibm db2 database running on an AIX server. After the Intellisnap has been done, I want to move an backup of the Intellisnap to an hyperscale X device. So the backup data is not in the storage array. Would it be possible to mount the Intellisnap directly on the hyperscale X device to sent the backup data from the Intellisnap to the same hyperscale X device? Thanks in advance!

Hi Team, Is there a way to have two approvers in the authorization workflows(delete job, delete client, delete storage policy workflows etc.)? Until both did not authorize the approval email, deletion should not happen.

One of my CV client backups started failing.  When I checked the ports from the CS\MA port 8401 is refusing to connect.  On the client side is exhibiting the same problem with port 8401 communication failure.  I was informed by one of my teammates that a certificate issue on the client side can cause this type of behavior.  If this is true, how can I resolve this and is there a document that would explain a certificate issue? Thanks.

Hi folks..  Scenario:- An system owner registers a client into a Commcell.- The system owner realizes that he registered it into a wrong Commcell. - The system owner wants to register into the right Commcell WITHOUT uninstalling /installing the IDAs again. Is there any way to "flush" the client config on the client itself so it can run the registration process again, this time targeting the correct Commcell?  Thank you for any input you might have....  Kind regardsRubeck

Tried with http://<webservice>/SchedulePolicy on browser but this throws 404 error code.whereas http://<webconsole>/webconsole/api/Schedules?clientId=2 this works fine without any error.Can you please help me with below queries:Are these both a and b api(s) return same data?  Need help on why “404 Not found” message while hitting api ‘a’ on browser?

Good Day, I have noticed that when Connecting to the Admin Console it throws me a bunch of errors and it displays this “Unable to load the data from server.” Also when trying to access he Console it gives me this web page “HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.” All services are started and i have rebooted the server aswell.

Hello, After Installation Media Agent in AZURE the next step is configuration VSA backup client for on of the subscription where the Media Agent is located. I checked the roles which were added to subscription for the Media Agents: Infrastructure Administrator Networking Infrastructure AdministratorMedia Agent has enabled Managed Identity, Which is required for access VSA proxy server to subscription. After when my colleague try to configure VSA client. He received the error: “Unable to connect to Virtual Machine host [ID number for subscription] as user [].  [Failed to get access token. Connection failed.“Please let me know when I should take a look more details about that issue or steps to verify configuration for the Media Agent. 

Are there any issue and/or does Commvault support the CommServe in allowing VMware to Vmotion the CommServe from one esx server to another esx server while the Commvault CommServe services are running? Thanks

HiWe are building new datastore’s on a new storage array. We used many 4 TB datastores in VMWare which would limit the amount of VM’s within the datastore for the backups. We are thinking about doubling the size of our datastore’s to 8 TB considering the size of VM’s now a days. My question being is there a best practice or a max number of VM’s within a datastore backup using the IntelliSnap process? Are we better off using many 4 TB datastores versus fewer 8 TB datastores for VMWare IntelliSnap backup’s? ThanksNeil
