Hi community,I’m working on script automation for our Rest API and I should renew my token evrey 30 minu using a refresh token, but when i generat a new token using powershell the new rferesh token include a specific caractère “}” that block my process to generat news token and auhtentification.Hve you any idea to fixe this error or to filter caracter when I refresh my token? Thank you.

We will be adding a new VMWARE Envrioment V8 to our Commvault backup; we use Intellisnap backups at the moment, however, in V8 we are using Datastore Clusters; how does that impact Intellinsnap and would the process be same Adding Storge snapshot engine to Commvault Setup Subclient and use the snap engine however, would there be impact if say due to storage DRS a VM moves from one datastore to another. I have seen with Intellisnap (Nutanix) if you have a VM in 2 Datastore it fails the whole job; yet to runinto this senario with pure but how would this work?

Hi together,due to the necessary transition from Storage-Policy/Schedule-Policy to Plans, we are looking for a method to do bulk changes to the configuration (400x HANA, 500x Oracle, 100x Postgres ...).When we are using plan rules this seems to work, but in fact it does not. The plan rule is changing only the assignment for the subclient and not for the database instance.Example: Plan rule for Postgres should assign a derived planThe subclient is changed to the Derived Plan, the instance is not (completely) changed; here you find the Base-Plan that is “mentioned (sorry for this term, but configured would not be appropriate)” and the instance is listed as “not ready”.Qcommands (and therefore workflow) seem to have no interface to assign plans. So my question: How can I do a bulk change for database agents and assign a derived plan to the Subclient and the database instance?Thank you.Michael

I am trying to install on-prem backup gateway and connecting to Metallic but getting error. I have opened outbound communication ports from backend gateway to Metallic on these ports 443, 8400 and 8403.at the firewall, I can see traffic is using ports 443, 8400 and 8403. From this gateway I am able to access the URL https://metrics.metallic.io., but during the installation, it is not connecting to the Metallic. What ports need to allow apart from above to make the communication between on-prem gateway and Metallic.

 I'm trying to backup Virtual machines on VMware.All backups are ok except two vms.I have this errorCannot read disque [[Datastore2-Compellent] SRV-EXCHANGE/SRV-EXCHANGE-000002.vmdk] for virtual machine [SRV-EXCHANGE] on the host [esxi03.domain.local]. [Une ou plusieurs erreurs se sont produites lors du traitement de la demande. (ERROR_ERRORS_ENCOUNTERED.774) , Échec de ReadCurrVmdkFile (W32.774)]I have verified the connection between the access node and vice and the ESXIs all fine.But I noticed that commvault try to access to vmdk disk that didn't exist on the VMs.i have tow VMDK Files for two virtual disks that called  “SRV-EXCHANGE/SRV-EXCHANGE-1-000028.vmdk and SRV-EXCHANGE/SRV-EXCHANGE-000004.vmdk” for this vm.Someone has a solution for this

Hi,i have a worm tape that was aged.I will catalog the tape. The tape is moved to media by group → catalog. Then i said → all tasks → catalog.the tape moved to the tape drive and catalog starts….but then nothing happens. 0%. After a while the tape moved out of the tape drive.Do i make a mistake? How can i catalog the tape for restore data? ThanksDennis

HiIs it planned for Commvault to support Governance Mode for S3 buckets?If yes, when can it be expected?If not, why? The Compliance Mode is far too risky and is also not recommended by most engineers.We’re using a Dell ECS on prem and I want to enable WORM but only with Governance Mode. ThanksMichael

Hi Team,I’d like to know if there is a way to run PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MSSQL backups from scripts on the clients similarly to RMAN.I founf the Save as Script option on the Subclient, but we woud like to use our own commands (pg_dump  ${database}) and still make sure the backups are witten to HSX.ThanksFrancesco

Hello,i’m trying to create a simple python script that permits to add an {‘excludePath’:  ‘/dir-a/dir-b/’} and {‘includePath’: ‘/dir-c/dir-e/log’ }  to  ‘content’: [{‘path’: ‘/’}]the problem seems to be the  subclient.update_properties( )   that doesn’t save to commvault. I can’t see the changes made in Webconsole or Java UI consoleAny idea ? 

We are running on Commvault 11.20.Currently backup jobs are using Azure Blob cloud disk library, with container default setting.  (On Azure is container type is Cool). We would like to move this storage to another tenant with different storage account with Cool/Archieve type container.  Looking for a best approach to migrate the storage, if it can be done from Commvault and not from Azure.

Hi! Is there a way to check if media agent has on-going activity? Don’t see any API for job controller or media agent call that can be used.  I’m struggling with automatic patching for backup infrastructure but want to avoid interfering with client backup jobs or stuck LTO tapes as a result of reboot in the middle of write. So want to check if media agent is in use in a loop and reboot if no job is actually running.  Thanks. 

Hi,Looking for some feedback from the community on how to proper address the below scenario.I have a need for separating a specific licenses into different chunks (or storage policies or something else). In other words, I have different departments buying end point users licenses for example; HR / Supply chain and each purchased 20. They want to make sure that there are free licenses once they need and receive reports on the available licenses for their area. Am I able to allocate a number of specific licenses to a specific storage policy? Can I allocate a # licenses to a CommCell Group and once installing those machines, we place them into a group which then consumes the license for that particular group?These departments have different storage policies. What would be the most appropriate way to make sure each department gets only what they purchased license wise? Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,one of our customers wanted to change the user for backing up his database via the Commvault WebUI. When he tried to do this, he received the following message:The user does not have [Use Plan] rights for the plans [MySQL-Database].The user [TSK-CV] could not be verified for the instance [BAV1]. Check that the services are online and with the correct user name and password.I checked the permissions of the Tenant Admin role and could not find any permissions that might be missing.Can you possibly help me here?RegardsThomas

We have a new environment with HSX setup; we have a single copy of the data going to HSX and we retained some backups for 5 years. I am sceptical of this design; apart from not following the best practices of a secondary copy; what are the impacts of storing this data for long term in the same copy? Would it have any impact on DDB (although with design we do have ddb split across multiple nodes); would the chances of corruption of this data would be more?    

In the MaxDB Workflow properties, what should the Security tab look like?Does ‘master’ user and ‘master’ role need to be added?  Or just the specific commvault service account with master (or custom) role be applied?

Hello, I'm trying to perform a restore using a test environment.I'm trying to restore the VM using tapes. The backup server and media agent are not on the same server.When I start the restore process, I can restore the index, view the VMDK files, and start the restore pointing to a VCENTER and the datastore with space.The restore starts and reaches 92% and fails. The error message says that communication with the media agent has been lost.Has anyone experienced this and can help me?
