Our Commvault users are given access via an AD user group.That AD user group is set to have MFA enabled and therefor all our users make an MFA enabled login. In our domain there is also a user group for MFA excepted users.So now I would like to leave MFA enabled for the users that have commvault access (the commvault user group)But disable MFA for the commvault users that are also in the MFA disabled group. Is this possible?

By accident someone deleted the backup job summary template and lost 75 scheduled reportsDoes anyone know how I can recover them?

Hello Commvault,I try to find a workaround in order to reduce a DDB Q&I times.The DDB is currently 238 TB, based in Shared partitions (Azure Blob Storage).Average Q&I times was 9,000ms (in Premium SSD (P15) in Azure VM, single Drive. After split “DDB paths” (to separate Disks) and add another 2 X SSD (for DDB partitions), currently average Q&I times was reduced to 5,200ms. Is there any way to succeed better performance?Maybe to Seal the DDB ?

This just started a week or so ago.  The Commserve shows libraries for a particular media agent server as “marked not ready”.  Looking into the cvfwd file on both servers shows the following.On MA:”ERROR: Connection from <commserver. to localhost:50580 is being denied due to not matching a configured whitelist and due to no services listening on this port.”There are actually 4 error lines for each instance. “validate(), “do_connect_client90(), and two with “Client connection failed….”In the cvfwd file on the commserve, there are similar ERROR messages.After a minute or two, the libraries are “now marked ready” and I can see an established connection on that port (50580).Do not see this on other MA servers. The MA and Commserve server are in the same IP subnet.Does not appear to be traffic related, as this will occur while nothing is going on between them.And does not appear to be impacting functionalityAny suggestions or hints?.

Dear Support Team,Greetings!!We have Commvault server, which is on hard disk, now I need to move it to SSD. So how can it be done? And if we take a new server, then the running server as it is file and whatever configuration will be transferred to that new server, then the same has to be copied. And the existing server has to be removed after moving backup old to new. So is this possible? ThanksAmol.

Is there a way to find out who made changes to a backup schedule? We are using Commvault v.11 

Hi, do I need to run DDB Verification job to physically prune those DDB Prunable Blocks? What exactly triggers the purging of this data? Is there any Commvault script to trigger this data purge manually?      

Hello,I have SAP for Oracle backup on single tape, I need to keep it for years. What will happen if I export this tape and delete all related objects in Commvault (Job and storage policy). Will it be possible to load tape back to tape library and import/restore backup form this tape?

can anyone suggest which method is the recommended and best option , vm file consistent backup + application backup or app aware backup   

Hello Commvault Community, I would like to ask about one of the scenarios that I am currently observing and I have some concerns and uncertainties. There was an Exchange Mailbox (Classic) configuration in the environment a few years ago and it was turned off a few years ago (around 2017), but the retention for archiving jobs is Infinite - data is kept and available on Storage all the time. Machines responding to this configuration from the VMware side have been completely deleted and cannot be recovered. With archiving jobs still available on Storage and another alternative MediaAgent with the Exchange package, are we able to recover data from Storage? Is there a configuration required for this that was originally used and there is no other option/workaround? Restoring the mailbox should go to a PST file (the mailbox size is +/- 2GB) I need information whether, without the available infrastructure referring to the Exchange Mailbox (Classic) configuration, we are able to recover a singl

This is not necessarily an issue since my tape copies are working and tape library is configured.However I when I look at the library, all my drives have ma01 as my active controller. I have 3 other active media agents. How do I balance having MA01 to only be active to drives 2 and 3, then MA02 drives 4 and 5 and so on?Pretty sure I had this changed before on a old library but cant remember how to change it. Thanks  

what could be the reason for the slowness for ntuanix files backup , i can see the load on read is 90 %   

HelloI´m trying to chase down what is actually consuming the storage in our S3 Cloud library(which has increased in an alarming rate the last week).Size On media is 354Tb, which is more or less exactly what is reported as used in the Netapp Storage array S3 bucket, no issue there.However, Total Data written is only 116TB I found this answer to what Size on Media actually meansSize on media is the total volume of all backup data, plus the index data and meta data for all the jobs on that media It sound crazy that index and metadata should increase storage with 100%Is it because we are using a cloud library? 

Hi guys :)Why is the restore performance so bad for big single item files like vmdk’s (100-400GB/hr)?Got the information that restores (for single Item) only reads from four disks simultaniosly, and the disks are HDDs, so random reads/throughputs are usually slow (by design). Support can’t help because it’s not an issue, and we have to live with it (if we want to stick with HSX). But thats not acceptable by our customers. Is there anything we can do?ThxKr

I have a few store once devices in my environment.i haven’t been able to figure out what the best practice is in regards to creating catalyst stores.up until now, i have simply created 1 store per site, so all backups go to the same store (sql,file,web, etc)that is to keep it simple. but i have read a few places that the “correct” approach would be to create a store per content group. so one store for fileserver backup, 1 for db backup, etc.Has anyone stumbled upon any actual recommendations ?  

can we schedule separate backup for application only which is part of app aware backup , like , vsa with app aware - once in a day and application every two hours

Hello community,I have a customer that uses Metallic (I know Commvault Cloud… :-)  ) and they are asking if Metallic backs up the SharePoint retention tags/labels of SharePoint objects. They heavily use those and before implementing they want to make sure they are protected and restored with the object.I looked everywhere and just couldn’t find the answer.Anyone has an idea?Many thanks in advance.
