Hi Folks,We have a setup where our Commserve is at our corporate office on the west coast. We have a remote locations in the both the Midwest and east coast. Both the corporate office (CPO) and the remote locations have their own media agents.Today I noticed that as a remote location aux copy to Metallic was processing, that it was going to our corporate office media agent first (due to the mount path?). This aux copy (just over 500gb) took almost 17 hours. With the mount path being at CPO, does that mean the aux copy goes from the Midwest to CPO to Metallic? And if so, should I create another Metallic Storage pool for the Midwest and East coast, or should I make a Metallic storage pool for each location?Or does it really matter? Hopefully, this makes sense! Thanks for looking.
Hi,Do I need a mail-enabled Teams Administrator account, temporarily without MFA, only for the configuration of the Office 365 Teams App in Command Center, or also later for backups or restores? I have a working Teams backup, but nowhere in Command Center I see a Teams Administrator account configured. The “Global Administrator” field in the Configuration tab is empty, and I am able to perform backups and restores. If I can just delete the Teams Administrator account after configuration, that's of course always safer. Thanks!
Here is a problem we are having with media agents at one location. We are seeing backups and restores with wildly different performance for any gateway installed on a Nutanix cluster. An adjacent older VMware cluster has no problems. The two clusters share the same 1G Internet pipe at a colo. We have another Nutanix cluster at a different location that has pretty decent performance consistently. We cannot find any one thing that might explain the behavior, and the poor and inconsistent performance makes managing the platform very difficult at that site. We would like to understand why the gateway running on the older cluster (HPE servers and EMC storage) which runs on 1G interconnects, is orders of magnitude faster than some of the gateways running the new Nutanix cluster (HPE DX-380’s) with 10G interconnects. Running ordinary uploads and downloads on any of the Nutanix-hosted gateways is fast, as expected. So, it doesn’t seem to be Internet, or hardware related. It smells as
What is changing in this enhancement?Metallic has optimized the backup configuration of your on-prem workloads by hosting the deduplication cache on backup gateway i.e., near the workload, to significantly reduce network calls to the Metallic control plane to retrieve deduplication information and thereby improve performance of backup operations.Important Note This change is only applicable to new on-prem workloads onboarded in Metallic after Aug 25. Existing workload already protected in Metallic will continue to operate as before.Which workloads does this enhancement apply to?This enhancement is applicable only to on-prem workloads protected using your own Azure storage (BYOS) or Metallic Recovery Reserve in Azure. How does this change impact my on-prem workloads onboarded in Metallic Prior to Aug 25?Existing workload already protected in Metallic will continue to operate as before. How does this change impact workloads currently in the process of onboarding? If you started onboardin

Hello Metallic Community,I am currently researching a comprehensive data protection solution for our Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environment. While evaluating different backup solutions, Metallic caught my attention due to its cloud-based nature, potentially offering a seamless integration with our mostly cloud-based components. However, in the course of my research, I found information suggesting that AVS primarily supports the hotadd transport mode for data protection. Given this, I'm trying to understand if it's mandatory to have a proxy within the AVS environment to perform backups. To provide some context, I'm considering setting up our backup server (potentially Azure MABS or Metallic Backup Gateway /Metallic MA) within a dedicated VNet. This setup aims to isolate our internet-facing devices in a separate VNet. The plan is to establish connectivity to AVS via ExpressRoute, allowing our backup solution to interact with the AVS vCenter, take snapshots, transfer the data to a local d
My exchange backups are running long again like they did when I first started backing up. My backup health is at 76%.Does anyone know why this would happen?
