Hello everyone,I have both physical and virtual servers in my environment, vms are hosted on esxi.Recently I installed wamp server on one windows vm and configured the backup for complete windows server via commcell and it’s running fine but I could only see file level backup while I also need for mysql database which is a part of wamp server so that i could recover any accidentally deleted database in bad case.NOTE: unlike other physical windows servers where I installed commvault agent in windows server and configured file system backup and mysql backup instances seperately, everything works fine. While in the case of windows vm, I cannot see mysql instance after expanding the vm name in commcell console client computers. do i need to configure mysql backup instance seperately like what i did for physical server? what exactly am i missing?Any help will be appreciated.Attached the screenshots for more clarity

Hello Team,We are testing Commserve failover test using production maintenance, while performing the activity it’s getting an error. Comparing the database and binaries version... Failed LiveSync and replication jobs are running properly as per schedule but every time failing in that step during failover. Please advise.
hey I have a spectra logic black pearl I’m trying to write backups to. The issue is i can record a data out from my commvault server of 130 Gig/s but I am seeing less then 10Meg/sec into the black pearl w/ 10 gig fiber line. It has two hops from commvault to a switch and then to the black pearl I’ve been trying to fix this for a few days now. I’ve fixed Dns Entries to they have reverse lookup and aliases. The two devices share the same Vlan. I’m not really sure what is left to try. Any thoughts or a place to start would be helpful Thanks
Hello to all,I read all similar threads about Commserve DR, but I didn’t found exactly my case. One of our client has on-prem 1 X CS and 1 X MA for VMware backup. Also, an additional MA in Azure, for synchronous aux copy to Blob Storage. The case here is to test / simulate a Disaster in on-prem infrastructure and proceed some test restores to Azure.(VMware → Azure VMs)My concern is the way to temporary “move” the CS in Azure for the test. The LiveSync is not an option (extra cost on Azure), so Im thinking the workaround of manually DR restore through Recovery Assistant tool.https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/43536_testing_commserve_failover_using_disaster_recovery_dr_backups.html Also, what about the rollback process back to on-prem CS?Any feedback about that? Thanks a lot!
Hi Alldoes email activity in workflows require special permission in office 365 email account? I’m able to send the normal alerts over email using SMTP details defined in control panel. But when i try to use email activity, it gives the authentication error! Do we require to enable some special permission on office 365 account to allow workflows?
Using intellisnap to create Azure VM snapshot, then run backup copy to cloud library.commvault media server will mount snapshot or will mount Azure VM disk? from backup copy log, I only see Azure disk read performance. Want to understand Azure VM snapshot backup copy workflow, please guide me.
We are upgrading PostgreSQL from 14.7 to 15.2Are there any known issues and is PostgreSQL 15.2 fully supported?
Can someone help explain what this means to a rookie commvaulter. We just upgraded to 11.28 and I notice we are getting the following WARNING:Program - CVMA Description - WARNING: The S3 bucket [cvcloudbackup] is versioning enabled, but the current credential may not have s3:ListBucketVersions permission to list versioned objects for deletion.Im guessing something has changed within 11.28.x version? or ? thanks - BC
we are testing if backup can be deleted using RMAN command , external pruning is disabled but still delete backup from RMAN is successfull , how to verify it is deleting the backup? is there anyway we can see if any deleted action perfromed from external
See “https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/129898_give_azure_service_account_access_to_exchange_online_mailboxes_in_modern_authentication_environment.html”It seems a service account for Exchange Online is optional. Correct? What does it mean in the Docs where they say:“If you do not use service accounts, the following is true”, then different things are “marked as” user mailboxes, shared mailboxes etc. What does it mean “marked as”? Where is it marked? For what purpose is it marked? What is the difference in “marking” with and without a service account?

Hello,is there a report where i can see how many tapes are needed within a week including compression? We are considering using worms for archiving purposes and i would like to know how many tapes i need for that.RegardsDennis
Hello, Customer have a 6 drive tape library.I would like to run aux copies for a specific plan using 2 drives in parallel. Is this sufficient? What else is needed?Regards,Pedro
Commvault reps, if you see this message, really hope you will consider this. The reason for my wish, is that we are noticing more and more questions from customers about why they provide us with permissions in their environment.“Because the backup service needs it” is no longer an acceptable reason for many.I am guessing that they have an increased focus on security, but I have a feeling that audits are becoming more important for many of the customers. The auditor might want to know what an account or an azure app is using their given permissions for.I wish for a place in the Commvault docs or somewhere on the site, where a customer or commserve admin can read about the reasons why an account or azure app needs all the different permissions in the different backup/restore scenarios. There is a nice table for Exchange Online Azure apps here: “https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/147825_application_permissions_for_azure_app_for_exchange_online.html”Why not create a similar ta
Hello CV community,According the documentation, the Guest File restore is able only to VMs with File System Agent installed.https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/87259_restoring_guest_files_and_folders_for_azure.htmlNote Only proxies with the file system agent installed are available to select. So, I’m looking for a workaround in order to restore Guest Files from (on-prem) NAS → directly to Azure VM, which does not have internet connectivity! So, it’s not possible either to install File System Agent. In this case, is there any way to proceed Guest File Restore to this Azure VM?Please for your feedback!
Hello Community, I hope everyone is have a wonderful day. I noticed after we update our CommServe and Media Agents to 11.25.52 that the WebConsole now has a new category when running the Backup Summary report. Azure V2. We do have Azure cloud clients. What does Azure V2 stand for? Also, is someone can send a Commvult link that describes web console items.Thank you,
We have been approached by a customer who has an old implementation of Commvault that they want to decommission. To do this, they want to recover any accessible data and then turn everything off.The Commvault environment has not been access in a few years so I’m stuck with the below issue.I’ve managed to get everything working, except Exchange mailbox restores. They are running V11 SP10 with an expired license. File level recoveries are working fine. When I try to recover a mailbox as a pst file, i noticed that a destination client must have the Exchange Mailbox (classic) agent installed to be available on the drop down list.I also installed the outlook client on the destination client without configuring anything. When I try to recover using the method below, I get 2 errors. https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp16/article?p=29025.htm One is in the Commcell event viewer that says logon failed and the second is in the job itself which states that the destination isn’t access
Background:Apparently the “Commserve_DR_Disk” and Primary/Secondary copies are created automatically during certain CommVault installation/setup steps….We are attempting to retire an old disk library and there’s still some data on it that commvault will not age off (I may have to create a ticket for some of it). I could force/delete it but I’m also trying to have it clean up “nicely/cleanly”. One of the larger blocks of data appears to be some DR backups that are attached to the ‘Primary” copy. I did some digging by running the “Data Retention Forecast and Compliance Report” and it appears that this data (~10 TB) is hanging around due to “Managed Disk Space Option Enabled for Prunable Job on Disk Media”. I checked the Primary copy and yep, the “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” has been checked. i assume tahts teh setting causing the extended retention.Questions:Is “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” checked by default by commvault when it creates/builds the Commse
Hello Commvault community,I need your help in order to add in our o365 Exchange online schedule also the Archive mailboxes.Currently all o365 active users are assigned the "365_Plan_Forever" plan (check attachment) for 4,179 /o365 users / groups mailboxes. In addition I created the "365_Plan_Forever_with_Archive" plan (check attachment) in order to backup also the Archive. So, when I “switched” all users to 365_Plan_Forever_with_Archive plan, the daily Exchange online jobs are running 24/7 with a lot of days and only for few amount of users. That's because the amount of their Archive usage….So, that's the reason Im here in order to help me maybe with a workaround, in order to protect the also the Archive mailboxes without stopped / delay the daily backup jobs for the regular Exchange online mailboxes. I was opened also a ticket (Incident 221102-237), and the findings are below:Findings:1. Apply the plan to all the mailboxes, disable the schedule, and trigger a backup. If the job is runnin
During a routine check I found that Commvault is reporting many of our customers’ Teams azure apps are missing permission “ChannelMessage.Read.All”.I requested a couple of customers to check, and they are saying it’s not missing.Anyone else seeing the same? Know why? This is 11.28.63
Dear Team, How we can install remotely for out side office employee without using VPN services. Because when we are in office than all connectivity is properly but out of office network can its possible.
Greetings.Anyone know if a list exists, where I can read about new known issues after a hotfix? What I mean, if there are any new known problems that might have an impact on our backup service if we upgrade to 11.28.68, that we didn’t have in .63..
