Hi,In our environment we want to free up disk library space by aging off the data for disabled subclients which might still be eating up the space due to their backup cycle retention criteria not met. I came across this setting in control panel>Media Management Configuration>Data Aging (“Ignore cycle retention on backup activity disabled subclients”) which if we set to 1 should clean up data based on days only retention set in the corresponding storage policy and ignore its cycles retention portion for the disabled subclients.I would like to know if anyone has used this setting in their environment and if any risks associated with this setting like data aging taking more time to complete or causing performance issues in commcell due to first run of data aging after enabling this setting?Also if later on we enable the backup activity for that subclient will the existing backups (which still have not met days only criteria)  and any new backups, will they ag

Hi everybody, Hope you’re doing well! My question is about index backup retention. As far as I know, index backup jobs are kept on the backup media until there are at least three versions present on the backup media; and thatCommvault backup the index in same storage policy as the backed up data (Default).My question: Is the retention from the storage policy applied to the index backup, or it is managed differently: Which means that, whatever is configured as the retention on the Storage policy, it keeps only the three last copies of the index backup?Thanks in advance for your help ! Regards

Hi,We’re currently looking at a possibility to change the maximum number of concurrent Synthetic Full backups for clients using the same Schedule Policy. The additional setting “MaxSyntheticFullJobsForSPolicy” seems like the perfect solution to this. However, I’m not getting it to work. Would you recommend installing the iData agent on the VM template?We need to deploy a Windows file system restore-only agent that is also registered in CommCell for ransomware monitoring (Monitoring Unusual File Activity).We're looking for a simpler solution than having it installed each time we deploy a new server. We already have VSA backups running in the environment, so the restore-on;y agent installation is primarily for File activity anomaly alerting. Thanks in advance for your advise.

I was working on a client that seemed to have a corrupted install. I uninstalled the client, and reinstalled and crap. it produced a duplicate instead of connecting to existing client, is there a way to force the client to associate properly?

In Commvault version 11 - Is it possible to automatically Suspend ALL running Jobs at 7:00 AM, stop new jobs from running, then Resume ALL jobs at 7:00 PM?  Let me know if this isn’t clearly stated.

A customer has almost 9000 mailboxes. What is the best way for me to back them up? To go by de default all mailboxes way works but at the same time it takes quite a while. I have configured 5 apps and 10 streams. Would we get to the finishline faster if we have the customer to greate different ad groups containing mailboxes from a to z ?

Hi All, this is more an wish to commvault and not a big problem :)  So let me try to explain the point: In 02.22 yo have an problem and open an support case the case is escalted to dev team and you get an diag patch. You are happy that after the instalaltion the backup or restore is running fine. The case is close and everthing is forgotten :) Than you update the envirmoemnt in 05.22 to the latest version and the diag patch was overwritten because it wasnt implemented in the new release. What happen you run into the same problem you open an support case and get an diag patch.  So my wish is that the installer check if an diag patch is installed and failed to update. Or give me an hint that there is an diag patch installed if you install now the update the diag patch is gone or in best case i get an message the diag patch will be repelace with hotfix update nummer 4567. Or is it based on the time of the job?2.    What is the Commvault behavior when we enable the quota and cleanup criteria together?

Other jobs for this backup copy run -however this subclient errors on backup copy. The DSM entries are correct in the array manager. The discovery completes - but the mapping to host fails.I have chosen other nodes in the hyperscale cluster- other vm hosts for the mount process- etc . Other jobs are setup with same config and it works. Not sure what the difference isBlow away and rebuild subclient?

Background:We added a new NAS storage array to CommVault, and marked the old ones mount points ‘Disabled for Write’. Time has passed and data has aged off, but the only thing left on the old storage (seen via right click on the storage mount path in the CV Java UI, choosing “View Contents”) is a handful of Index related data (with names of “<storage_policy>_IndexServer”, and from iDataAgent “Big Data Apps”) that has data retention dates “Retain Until” from last year back to 2019 ... but it will not age off.I asked support about it while cleaning up some other CommVault data on these old filers and they indicated that if we upgraded to the “latest greatest” (we’re on 11.24.56), then these index files are treated differently in a later version and will all clean up after the upgrade.Poking around in the forums, I find there’s an “Index Server Load” report in the web UI with a “Run load balance” feature (

Good morning, please your valuable help.😊I have a computer with hyper-v (20 virtual machines), and also has databases (SQL server); this client must backup the virtual machines in hype-v, databases and file system, for these are 20 TB of information. I installed to this client the roles of mediaagent, SQL agent and also as hyper-v hypervisor. The incidence that is presented to me with the complex of this client is the transfer rate that is too low, since I have other clients with the same roles and they work perfectly.I would like to know if I should do something additional to improve the transfer rate, in addition to your advice on best practices for servers of this type.Thank you very much.🙏🏻

The data you have stored will get deleted after 30 days from the expiration. You will not be able to recover the data once deleted. I did not find an eventlog entry and i also did not find an hint in the lic sum report.  is this alert the only point where i can track this info ?
