Hi, It’s my first time  with installing commvault on linux. I managed to install system core and media agent but file system icon is grayed and can’t reconfigure file system. Hi All ,Wanted to check if there is a way to scan PSTs in Activate ?Customer has data in PST format (size around 144 GB ) that needs to be scanned . Is it possible if this data is moved on to a file server can it be scanned/analyzed from live source using Activate FSO ?

Hi, I wondering if anyone has a multi-customer environment setup where some Commvault admins don’t have access to certain customers. That could be something like restoring data from a specific customer.As much as possible the admins need to be full blown admins in regards to handling infrastructure specific tasks like restarting services on a media agent.Is there perhaps some good approach to this way of working without it being too complicated and difficult to maintain?I’m hoping that Commvault permissions and restrictions options work in a similar way like Microsoft access control list on e.g folders. Meaning that even if a person has read/write access to a folder based on AD group membership then this can be overridden by adding the person explicitly to the folder and deny the read/write option.Also I would like to know how people differentiate or group the customers in regards to separating admins. We have customer groups which is used for e.g. network settings but I’m not sure if

Hi,I see in the repository of running jobs there are files ending in data, meta and idx. What are these files for? Is it when data arrives at MediaAgent as chunk and when stored in block? Do you have a diagram to describe the process of moving these blocks of data, and how it is stored?Another question is can I copy the backup file to restore on another Commcell environment?Thanks

Hi All, I'm looking for an report or an possibility to check how big is the archived mail size from exchange mailboxes.  We are using mail archiving and replace all mails with attachments older than 1 yer with an stub.  Now we are migrated to O365 and we want to deactivate the archiving function.  To check the needed space in O365 we want to know how man space is archived for each mailbox. to you have an hint how can i get this information ? 

I’m on SP16.  I have several clients that have their licenses released (they are grey icons with green “down arrows” on them but it appears the schedule and “activity control” were not turned off… when looking at the filesystem “backup history” in the java UI is seems that backups are still showing like they are regularly occurring (a year after the license release occurred) BUT the ‘size of application” (backup size) is frozen at the same size since the client was retired.  When I “view media” on these newer backups it appears its being Aux copied and written to tape.In the Web UI, I’m not seeing these backups. it shows the last backup as a year ago.So: is this ‘normal” (and any explanation?) and is there really data being aux copied and written to tape?This likely was a manual “release license” done on the client via the java UI, and no other action taken is my guess.

Hello,There is an issue with concrete folder on volume E. The folder is selected for backup, but restore browser is empty, no subfolder or files available for restore. Also  backup size is only 2kb , The folder is DFS replicated. Currently the folder   backuped  with symantec  BackupExec 2010 selected as shadow copy component:\\SRV3\Shadow?Copy?Components\User?Data\Distributed File System Replication\DfsrReplicatedFolders\krt \*.* /SUBDIR;.My co-worker told me, that  few years ago , the Symantec behavior was the same , if folder has been selected as usual folder. Thank you in advance!

Hello guys,can someone tell me, how I’m able to create additional copies of my SharePointOnline backups ?I need to retain regular backups for 2 week + weekend’s backups (Synfull) for 2 months.Additional backups are required on the last day each month, copied to tape with 1 year retention.I tried to setup a plan, but didn’t seem to be able to create the required synthetic full backups at the time needed for longterm / extended retention.Since I’m used to use schedule Policies, where all this is easy to configure/setup, I find it hard to achieve similar with a plan. M365 can only make use of plans, therefore I’m forced t use it here.modifying the schedule policies created by the plan, doesn’t work either.rgdsKlaus

Hi All ,One of my customer has requirement , wherein they want “individual Teams Chat messages”  for all the users , not be retained more than 60 days.Going through commvault documentation my understanding is user's Microsoft Teams Chat messages are stored to a hidden/not exposed folder to a user's mailbox and is backed up as per exchange archiving policies .My Exchange Archiving policy is configured to retain data for infinity.Queries :Does OneDrive backup stores personal team chat as well or it is only used to store documents shared in Teams chat ?If yes , where on OneDrive teams personal chats are stored ? Is there a way we can create separate retentions for “individual Teams Chat messages” within same archiving policy ?  

Tried to active a backup for Gmail , got it’s is a Classic Agent V1 and no supported anymore .Anyone now when the Version V2 will be available ?Best Regards Robert

I’m trying to archive Exchange mailbox but the job is “completed with error”I can browse and recover The messages still exist “As it has been backed up not archived” Check readiness shows that I should add at least one system account “I already added 3 service accounts” Archive & Archive index phases are completed  Finalize phase is failedCheck the attachment file for the job logs

Hi,Our CommServe has Command Center installed. If I install a second Command Center on an existing MediaAgent in a remote location, which ports are required between the remote Command Center component and the CommServe? Currently, only the minimum ports are opened on the MediaAgent and I want to know if I can use Command Center without the need for additional ports, for example without the need for ports 443 and 80. I visited https://documentation.commvault.com/11.26/essential/7102_port_requirements_for_commvault.html, but I don't see the specific requirements for target machine “CommServe” accessed from “server with Command Center (and browser) installed”.Thanks!

Hi,I explain my case. We have configured a policy through snap and its subsequent backup copy of an NFS through NDMP. When we do the snap, the size is 0 bytes and there have been changes in the nfs content, so the backup copy is not done. On some occasions that same task has finished correctly 'but without data, and other times this error appears Subclient [default] is protected by snapshots on storage array [NFSUNITY] - backup job [338439] client [win-backup] snap engine [Dell EMC Unity Snap]. and this is the summary Backup job [338439] completed. Hi , currently i am involved in O365 POC for commvault complete software. I realize that even though our documentation mentions that is a search function for what kind of files within a 1 drive user to be restore but i cannot find the search bar within 1 drive restore function . However the same search bars exists for exchange online and sharepoint. Hi,I have one alert for full and transaction logs backup.I want to separate this alert for full backups and transaction logs ? I want to create 2 alert for full and transaction log backup.I use the same instance to backup logs transaction and full. Now I use alert called 'Client not backed up for X minutes' (https://cloud.commvault.com/webconsole/softwarestore/store.do#!/137/683/8936), and I don't have parameter to choose ‘Full’ and ‘logs transaction’ backup.How can i do it ? brAleAle

Recently upgraded the iDA on an HP-UX 11.23 server (from 10.something to 11.24.52).  Server is running Informix 11.50Ever since updating the agent all my backups (filesystem & Informix) are failing.  I see the following errors on both job types: Other end <media agent> encountered failure in receiving data [The SDT data transfer was terminated on a request from the Job Manager.]andDB Token [3184921:3:4] doesn't match with the token [3184921:3:3:0:52679] provided by client. Error :[The job token is for an older attempt than that of the job. I see the jobs starting to write data at the beginning, but then they just…. die.  Doesn’t matter which media agent I use (we have 4 to pick from).  We do have an active case open with support, but it’s moving….slowly...and not really progressing. we’ve configured a 1-way firewall (didn’t help) and tried not using a firewall at all (also didn’t help).  The client and the media agents/commserve have DIPs on the same vlan.  any ideas?

hi  all ,disk labary space counsume very  fast (20TB to 1.7TB ) in less then 24H looking for report that will give me  2 things :1) what subclient  counsume the space  ?  and why so fast ?2)wanna know if i have some backup that wait OR expired  and i want delete them and release some space where i can find tham?thank you alldudi  ;)
