Hi, Does anyone happen to know if it should be possible to restore an ACL when restoring to a UNC path? We backup a UNC path (using Network Share Client, generic for CIFS Azure Files) and the ACL from a file or directory is restored when restoring to a local disk, but not when restoring to the source UNC path.Thanks!

In my current environment I do have a certificate installed but that has an expiry till 2030. So need to re issue a certificate however issue is when i apply for the keys I am not sure how to push them to commvault and the rest steps.

Good day.  I am performing an audit for a customer.  I was asked to confirm and produce proof of  AD group that are allowed access to backups.   My question, is there a way to view AD groups that are associated with server backups on the Commserve?

Hi, I am wondering which port is needed to use the command line from a different machine than the CommServe. Is it for example the same port as for the CommCell Console, port 8401?Thanks!

Hello,We have determined with the help of CV support and Azure support that the fastest possible restore of an entire VM within the Azure environment (even within the same region) is 60Mb/s. The limitation, according to Azure, is that CV writes the VM as a single page blob and the max throughput for that is 60Mb/s.At this speed, restoring an entire VM of any significant size would take far too long to be acceptable in an emergency situation.Has anyone run up against this limitation and how have you worked around it? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how we might do so?Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Few quick questions regarding some pre-defined CV console alerts. I am unable to find this information online Unusual job activity alert. What does code 14:300 mean? This is default as the alert is enabled Do we need to expanded this alert to include more codes? Increase in data size Does this include alerting on VSA and NDMP as well? If no to above, would we have to install an iData agent on each VM to allow alerting? Thank you for your time

Thank you all in advance for the input.  (first time poster)I have an issue I can’t figure out and I’m tired of beating my head against the wall.  We are moving away from using tapes as our secondary copy (archive copy).  We have recently setup Azure cloud storage policy copies for our archive.  I have attempted to mirror the policy copy settings between the tape and cloud copies as much as possible.  We have 3 copies - weekly, monthly, and yearly, each with a different retention, and 3 different storage policies.  We started with the weekly copy and all seemed to be well.  When I created the monthly and yearly copies, the job selections didn’t meet my expectations.  A few examples:  duplicate jobs would show up in the weekly and monthly, or monthly and yearly.  Meaning a job that I would expect to a monthly (first weekend of the month) was in the weekly job list. I have a question about “quick look”.Two different users perform the same operation and click the "Quick Look" button in Outlook without the add-in and the effect is that one user generates such a link and it works (the message from the archive is fine).and another user generates such a link (which does not work)I don't quite understand why these two users have different link syntax. HelloI need to upgrade our 11.22.62 commvault version to the 11.24 feature release. I can just do this via the commcell gui correct?   Kind of like the way I install the maintenance releases etc except this will be a feature release.?   I plan on doing commserve/media server first then the clients.. or are you suppose to perform the feature release upgrade a different way? Please advise.. thanks in advance!BC

hi,i created VM and after that i installed Commvault agent.The backup succeeded a number of times and then it failed with the above error, can anyone tell me what the problem is?on this VM we are not working with Key Vault

Hi,We have a NAS Share Backup (NetApp) configured to use IntelliSnap to create the initial snapshot and afterwards, run a backup copy to copy the data to disk.We were assuming that Commvault would backup the data from the .snapshot folder on the original volume. As the customer is using a virus scanner (vscan) on their NetApp shares, we created shares on the original volumes specifically for Commvault/backup where we would disable vscan.However, we found out Commvault isn’t backing up from the snapshot folder under the original volume, but instead is creating a volume clone from the snapshot. On this clone, Commvault also creates a share. And you guessed it, vscan is by default enabled.This causes all kind of problems. Slow throughput because all files need to be scanned, occassional hickups from the virus scanner where it’s quarantining files, …Is there a way for Commvault to use the snapshot folder under the original folder, instead of creating a

Hi, we got a question from a customer, if it is possible to use the Oracle Managed Files (OMF) for a restore of a Portable Database (PDB).The customer would like to let the OMF handle the file location, just point to the OMF and start the restore. Is there some switches or additional setting the customer can use?If they input the file location by hand, OMF wont recognise the instance.
