hi, we recently where discussing a few security concerns for one of our customer.now there is a specific file located on the CS:/webconsole/common/bootstrap/javascripts/bootstrap.min.js Bootstrap 3.3.6this seems to be Deprecated by the provider.and is giving a high priority alert. how ever i do not see this listed in the https://documentation.commvault.com/11.26/expert/146231_security_vulnerability_and_reporting.html as far as i see i do not see that this updated on their system (currently 24.34.). could you provide us with an idea of when this will be upgraded through commvault? kind Regards,Thos Gieskes.

Hey, I have a question about DFS: In the area CN=System you can find the backed up DFS part which can be restored. However, this does not provide me with any further information about, for example, the DFS paths behind it at the time of the backup or the permissions that were entered. Is there at Commvault the possibility to get more detailed into the backed up AD points to DFS. So that one does not have to make a "half-blind" restore.  

I am settings new copy to tapethe tape has 24 slots I copy the last monthly full to tape. Retention is 1 yearI copy the last full off the year. Retention is 10 Years. The customer want that when each time the data are copied to the tape, he must be alerted and manually take off the tape offsite How do you deal with that ? Thanks !

It’s finally been a year (our retention period) for the old file server, which was running on a windows failover cluster, i.e. they needed to have the mediaagent component installed in order for them to work. Now when I try to retire the client “WinFSCluster”, it is showing me the following error - “Failed to delete Client. Snapshots are still mounted.”Nothing comes up in a web search for this error message, so I hope you can assist me, commvault forum folks!

Hi all,Our activate infrastructure consists of a single server with the following roles installed: Web Server Content Analyzer Index Store When I run the first discovery job (online crawl), it completes successfully.If I run the job again (full or incremental) or change the source path, the job fails with the following error:“Could not initialize class com.commvault.solr.handler.extraction.CVStellentParser”  I tried to create a new inventory and  a new project. Again the first job works and the next one ends with errors.As source I tried a network share (share CIFS storage NetApp) a folder on FS iDataAgent client and a local folder of the index server.

Hello, I am wondering if there is some way to copy, through File System agent, SAN attached volumes in VMs without having to select them one by one for every client (or filtering all the rest of volumes).My idea is to create a Virtual Server subclient to copy the VM itself and another FS subclient to copy the SAN-attached volumes, but avoiding copying again the content of VMDK for that VM. In a small and static environment, filtering the drives to exclude on a per-client base in FS subclient would be feasible, but if you have a big environment or an environment where VMs are constantly created and destroyed, the manual method is not possible.Do you know if it exists a way to automatically select only the SCSI/iSCSI volumes of a File System subclient? Or, that is the same, automatically exclude the non SCSI/iSCSI volumes of a File System subclient? Thanks!

In the Java Console I am trying to custom filter the subclient field of the Storage Policy Properties associated subclients. But this issue applies to all the fields in the Associated Subclients tab.I am trying reassociate some subclients with a new Storage Policy.  I want to filter on “contains”  or “ends with” mssql.  Select all the subclients that meet the criteria and reassociate them to the new subclient. But the conditions in filter are designed for numeric ranges.  is greater than is less than  is betweenThe filter condition should be keyed to text values, the same as they are for the operations filed in the job controller.contains doesn’t contain  begins with ends withI have noticed this misalignment of filter parameters in other places too. Is there a way to modify these filter conditions to align properly with values associated with the headings? This is making this task much more time consuming than it needs to be.  Thanks for reading

Hi all,Does anyone have this issue where disks accumulate on the Proxy server?Some proxies have 23 disks even when there are no jobs running.Automount is disabled and Defender has the correct exclusions.I even added the nRemoveSnapshotRetry keys to additional settings even though I’m not sure if it’s applicable to AHV.Thank you in anticipation.

Hi Could you please advise, If Commvault is able to backup SMB share permissions when it backs up a share that is hosted by a failover cluster? i.e: if we have to restore an entire share through Commvault, will it also restore the share permissions or will these need to be backed up separately, eg: via the registry on the server?

Hi ThereI have a customer that uses Exchange Archive Mailbox with a quota of 14GB.The primary mailbox has a quota of 100MB and they have a policy to archive emails older than certain number of days (very short, like 10 days or less) to the Archive Mailbox.We also archive users’ mailbox with Commvault Mailbox Agent selecting both primary and Archive Mailbox.When checked the logs, a message states that the cleanup is skipped as the quota if 14GB and the current mailbox uses 100MB+It seems that the mailbox quota CV calculates also includes the Archive Mailbox quota , so when we specify Quota high watermark to 70% for example, and if the primary mailbox has exceeded that threshold the stubbing of emails do not happen on the primary mailbox as the Archive Mailbox has not reached that threshold.Wanted to know if this is an expected behavior and/or if there is any way to cleanup the mailbox based on quota only and ignoring the Archive Mailbox quota.Thanks and regardsAbdel 

After some weird initial issues which were fixed by an update….. My Nutanix files jobs take a long long long time to backup (assuming they don’t fail or restart attempt at reboot). I’m talking  37 days for my current attempt, which for the first time, is past the scan phase. CommVault indicates the job is 4.72 TB for this subclient of the Nutanix Filer. Initially, I thought maybe it was the size causing the issues. (New to CommVault, new to Nutanix). However I found this YouTube video How to check disk performance using CVdiskPerf - YouTube indicating that high read times indicate a possible disk issue. My read % time for the job is 96.85%. This seems excessive.  Has anyone attempted to use the CVdiskPerf on their Nutanix Filer? How did you do it? Recommendations on Youtube tutorial or an SOP somewhere?

Hello, we have already patched the environment regarding the Log4J vulnerability and are at the 11.20.82 level.Now we have a system that has been equipped with a MySQL agent. The backup can be set up but this does not start. Our network team has analyzed the traffic and informed us that Log4J is being used and therefore the traffic is blocked. All other agents show no problem. Is this a false positive or can the problem be fixed for the MySQL agent.I have attached a screenshot of the security warning.with kind regardsThomas

We have an VSA proxy which has the media agent installed, is it best practice to enable ransomware protection on the proxy. whether it affects any backups  ? but proxy is not owning any disk library.

Hello guys, maybe this could be a silly question, but, is there any way I could disable the e-mail authorization I received when I try to perform some admin tasks like Retire a Client, for example.I tried to exclude the Client Group/Client Computer so I don’t need to receive the e-mail authorization, but I still keep receiving the email, even though I already authorized it.I know about the best practices in terms of security but this is causing my clients a little discomfort, and I don’t remember where this feature can be disable. Thank y’all,
