Hello, In our Global infrastructure we have some backup solution which is managed by one global Commserve. In current situation we worry about connectivity to some Media Agents in Russia and possibility in the further that the connection to Media Agents from Europe can be blocked and my question how to prepare infrastructure on that task, to not lost possibility of restore and backup server in Russia. Or what type of solution can be implemented ? I can imagine that the task can be difficult to divide Commserves on Two machines and when the situation will be more stable we would like to merge both Commservs. Situation between the Russia and rest World is very dynamic, so we don’t know when that solution will be useful. Regards, Michal  

We use a wildcard cert in or organization and it had recently expired.  So when I try to get to the webconsole Im getting a “NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID”  .    I have the new wildcard cert (*wildcard-cert.pfx file)Im not proficient in the certs department.  So do I just copy this cert to the C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Apache\conf\ directory.   This is where I see the same cert name which Im assuming is the expired cert.I looked in the server.xml file and saw the following -    <Certificate certificateKeystoreFile="conf/XXX-XXX-wildcard-cert.pfx" certificateKeystorePassword="XXXXXXXXXX" certificateKeystoreType="PKCS12"/>  Or is there a particular command I need to run to add the new wildcard cert  (pfx file) to a keystore etc..? Please advise..ThanksBC

hi I am enquiring if the 11.20 and 11.24 release version of backup server and client can run on OS platforms without oracle Java but using OpenJDK.I can't seems to find any supportability document that mentions about the supportability of java edition 

I’m not sure exactly when it happened but the documentation site has been bifurcated into “Essential” and “Expert”  I find that most of the time when I search the site it takes me to essential which almost never has what I am looking for.  Typically I would have to then navigate through the expert tree to find what I am looking for.Is there a way to limit where your searches happen?

Hi everyone..  Scenario: On a VM, a decoupled package is installed in case of the VM owner decides to install some sort of database application on it. A DB IDA now needs to be installed to handle the DB backups.. The VM itself is ofc already being backed up by a VSA job.The backup admin can then simply "add client" and retrieve config from the client and then push whatever IDA is needed.  Question:How can one limit that the "add client" and retrieve config  can only be done from one specific Commcell? I mean, what could prevent me from starting up my rouge Commcell running on my laptop, connect the client and steal all the data by running a full FS backup before the REAL backup admin adds it to the REAL Commcell?   Might be a stupid question and maybe the fit of my tinfoil hat is way too tight.. :-) But my question is: Is there some way to configure the decoupled package so only "add client" requests from a specific Commcell would be allowed?Thank you for any input anyone of you may pr

Good Afternoon, I have a few clients that when I try to associate with the subclient policy their backup-set does not show up. this is presumably because they are somehow not eligible to setup to use a subclient policy.Is there a way to make these clients eligible without losing data in the existing subclients? Thanks.Chris.

A Onedrive job is “completed with errors” and displaying the number 82 in the “Failed files” column.When getting the failed items list, “only” 77 items are displayed. Can we provide the customer with a good reason for this, why it says 82, but we can only show them 77..Like the files are too corrupted, and commvault is unable to display them or something..?

Hello Everyone,We have a huge fileserver and currently we are backingup to AWS S3 and this is becoming tough for us to backup within the window. We tried to use storage accelerator, but that didn’t work as expected.We wanted to have a local copy first and then move ( not copy)  it to cloud as data is huge. How can we achieve this on a daily basis - take a backup locally and then move to cloud.Please advise.

Our proxy ESXi hosts are reporting:Deprecated VMFS (ver 3) volumes found. Upgrading such volumes to VMFS (ver 5) is mandatory for continued availability on vSphere 6.7 hosts.Our volumes on our HPE 3par and local are all VMFSv6. The prod ESXi hosts haven’t reported this warning. We cannot find these errant volumes.This comes up during VADP backups.VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 17700523, Commvault 11.20.82I’m hoping someone else has suggestions or and explanation of this. 

Hi, is there a way to migrate a client from one Commserve to another completely new?I do not need the history of the backups performed but only to keep the configurations, like subclient content. I tried in the Commcell console by installing a new Client with the option “fetch the configuration information...” but at the end it looks for an xml file "preimagemodefile.xml". Currently both the old Commserve and the Client are reachable via IP from the new Commserve.  

I want to backup a single mysql db to CV, but the backup dialog window  doesn’t have an option for me to select which db to backup.It seems that CV will backup all the mysql databases from the db server.Can anyone help?
