Hi,I have recently set up an environment for backing up private teams chats. I have configured everything needed for finding and retrieving chats and it works fine. But one of the scenarios that i am trying to achive is *searching a keyword in the backups -insults for example, in legal cases- . But i cannot see the teams app when i try to select it from the review set of Case manager or in a Compliance search. Is there a configuration that has to be done or Does the Compliance search feature not include Teams application ? Used Commvault version : 2024E (11.36)
Can we use higher version of ISO for 1-touch recovery or we have to use same ISO as of current version commserve?
Hi all, We have configured backup for a Nutanix AHV Hypervisor using the NAS Transport mode. Backups and restores succeed, but we have not opened port 111/2049 to the Nutanix AHV Nodes (which are hosting the NFS Datastores). We do see connections to PRISM (Port 9440). How can our backups/restores succeed using NAS Transport mode? If Commvault can’t connect directly to the nodes, does it fallback and route all traffic via PRISM or something? Hope someone can clarify. Thanks!
Hi All,I’m trying to backup MongoDB and already installed and configured for backup. When I run backup, there is issue of volumegroup no space. When I run the vgs command, the volumegroup did have 0 free space. However the FileSystem (LVM) space have plenty of free space. Can we utilize the LVM free space for the native snapshot?Other than adding extra disk to extend the volumegroup, is there anyway that I can backup the MongoDB?Its a sharded MongoDB using ubuntu.Regards,Fauzi
Hello, Is there an easy way to copy alert definitions from one commserve to another? I need to copy 10+ alerts to 5 commserves. Thanks

Having chatted to Pure Storage, I got PG = Protection Group; SM = Safemode; Commvault uses vol snaps for most operations. PGs come in when customers use async replication or explicitly enable PGs in the CV config. (CV also called out PGs for Oracle archivelog snaps; I haven't tested this myself to be sure whether it always uses them or only in those two cases.) CV creates its own PGs per subclient (data set) and cannot enable SM on them (until they are on APIv2--this was the "first" I mentioned)--but customers can enable SM manually. Dynamic detection means they will adjust the PG members based on where the data sits when the backup job runs. VMs moving due to Storage vMotion, adding or consolidating vols in a DB, etc. will trigger CV to change the PG membership. If this includes removing a vol, and SM is turned on for the PG, the job will fail and continue to fail until Pure support can remove the vol.Auto-on is a separate consideration. There's no opt-out for CV without APIv2. Any
I have a customer who has configured a new 4 node Windows Cluster. Everything looks in order on it, but the SQL instances aren’t being discovered when creating a cluster pseudo client. The SQL instances aren’t being discovered at a client level either. SQL permissions for Commvault are all correct.I can run a File level backup at a node level so I know all connectivity is OK.The Commvault Cluster Process on the nodes won’t start up which would explain the SQL instances not being discovered. In Windows Cluster Manager, all nodes and roles look to be healthy, but the Cluster Events have a large amount of the below errors. There is a fix for it, which the customer is busy with at the moment. My question is, would the below error cause the Commvault Cluster process to not start or is that a separate issue?I would have expected to at least have SQL instances discovered at a node level?
Hello Commvault Community, We have an environment that is based on several data centers in different locations around the world. Aux Copy performs correctly and on the fly, while I would like to ask if there is any way to speed up this process? The situation is as follows: In general, latency between sites is generally high, about 25-30ms, throughput is somewhere between 20-50gb/hr for AuxCopy jobs, sometimes faster. Is it not possible to split such AuxCopy into more minor sub-jobs? If more streams are used in parallel, latency will be less of a problem. We have already studied the topic of Scalable Resource Allocation, but here this Batch Size will not help us, because here isn’t a large number of jobs to be copied and we are concerned only with improving the performance of this process. Thank you in advance for your help on this topic.Kind RegardsKamil

Hi, we want to use the test for tape drive to troubleshoot auxcopy performance issue. In the documentation Validating a Drive (commvault.com) i dont find infos regarding this points: Where are the chunks stored for this tape on the mediaagent wich settings are the best to simulate and vsa auxcopy to tape
Im trying to restore a Windows 2012 server that was backed up on an old vmware VCENTER. I am getting the error Error Code 23:10 Error while reading pipeline buffer from MediaAgent (commvault.com) - How can I “Change the network adapter of the virtual machine to vmxnet3” on a server that is backed up? During the restore, I change the vcenter to the new vcenter using the same datastore, ESX and Media Agent servers. It fails almost right away. Is there another way to get the backup?
So for the last couple weeks, we've been seeing an add error ("Mount Error") with our media agent and its fiber connected drives: Media Label: CV_MAGNETICFailure Reason: "A file with the same name already exists. Cannot create a new file"Information: We have new equipment on order to replace this server. But for the moment, we have an 8 gib fiber connection to carry everything in and out of this system (IP traffic, fiber connected drives (25+). It's pretty clear to me that the pipe is full. But, we've never seen this issue before. Unfortuantely, it doesn’t have an error code, it appears to be a straight up “hey, something’s wrong with your datastore where you save I’ve got a ticket in regarding the error. Anyone else have any clues about how we should look at this? I”m not sure which log to start with as there isn’t an error code to start me off.
Dear Community , Install the Virtual Server Agent (VSA) on at least one Oracle Cloud Infrastructure instance. You can install the VSA on other machines to create additional VSA proxies. At least one VSA proxy is needed. what is access needed from proxy, if there are private and public connection, do we need access to manager and vm subnets ? Identify the Oracle Cloud Identifier (OCID) for the tenant and for the admin user for the hypervisor. can anyone help how can we do this Add required permissions for the OCID tenant and user.any link to refer creating user with required permssion Create a folder (called base_folder\certificates\external\ for Windows proxies, or called base_folder/certificates/external/ folder for Linux proxies) on the VSA proxy instance. Obtain the private key, password, and fingerprint for the private key, and then copy the private key to the newly created folder. For more information, see the following pages in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure documentation:
Hello,I have an AWS infrastructure and some times many instances are stopped for maintenance. I search to get the state (stopped / running) of the EC2 from commvault in order to move it in a group of EC2 instance stopped in order to disbale backup. I think i can get the tag of the EC2 instance but i dont’t know how to connect commvaut & AWsThank you for yyour response.
The Configuration scenario as follows, two RHEL Media Agents with OceanProtect X8000 as a NAS as the Disk library, what is the ideal block level to be configured in the storage, and if there is a detailed configuration steps for the same.
Hello, Today we would like to order some external device from Azure to copy the data between Azure and local site. Azure provide two options: -Azure Data Box Disk-Azure Data Box. According to documentation Commvault support the second option, link to documentation: https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/expert/97276_migrating_data_to_microsoft_azure_using_azure_data_box.htmlbut how does it look for the first option. We have network connection built on 1 Gb/s which should be so slow to send 30 TB of data. So maybe better option is Azure Data Box disk which can be connected by USB slot. Regards, Michal

Hi All,We have a VM of 1.5TB, iDA: Virtual Server, Vendor: VMware. While we are restoring the VM with out of place to same destination as source, we are getting low throughput i.e., ~29GB/hr where our network is 10GB/s.This VM is a Windows 2019 machine with latest VMware Tools installed and we have a VSA in same cluster of VM & a physical Linux server as a Media Agent in the same LAN.While backup, it was taking HotAdd mode and the throughput was 137GB/hr and elapsed time was about 6hrs for backup, but for restoring it taking NBD mode and throughput is too low & time taking restore was more than 24hrs.Can someone please let me know, is this restore was slow because the speed of writes on the datastores & disks was low? and also no.of files can affect the speed? If yes, how can we increase the speed of this restore? If not, how can we find the cause of the slowness, any logs to check or any tool to use like CvDiskPerf tool or CvNetworkTestTool? Is there any additional setting tha
