What happened to Data in the storage after reaching retain date in Commvault? Does this get delete from storage and free up the space that took on day 1?for example have a job retention policy set 30 days. Every day data written to the storage 1 BG.When this reach to 31 day will that 1 BG data got free up from storage and next daily backup job write data on this space on day 31st? How can I check from Commvault how much data will free up when it will reached to retention date?

We need to conduct the POC for this scenario, need input / suggestion's.The costumer want to setup a DR replication using Commvault auto recovery option. The primary site is using vmware and the DR is hosted in azure cloud. Here have been some challenges with the existing setup few of the serves were running with legacy OS like Win2003 and Oracle RHEL. As we aware win2003 is not supported on Azure platform and the costumer is not ready to upgrade to latest OS.  In this case is there any alternative option we can use to replicated the on prem workloads to Azure. I would appreciate for your suggestions. Thanks

Hope to find you in a good shape!In our environment, we are struggling with a problem of NDMP backups on NetApp devices.*It was working just fine before, then just started to act like described below. We do have a couple of subclients/paths configured, and they are randomly failing. No matter if it is Full or Incremental backup, no matter the which backup in a row. Sometimes same subclient might complete few backup in a row, but another one fails. There is no patter, random subclients with a random data amount. We cant find any pattern here.That is basically the error message:"Error Code: [39:501] Description: Client [XXXXXX] was unable to connect to the tape server [XXXXXXX] on IP(s) [10.100.XXX.XX, 10.100….., 10.100….., 10.100….., 169.254…..] port [50666]. Please check the network connectivity. Hello,Recently, our customer started to successively remove old .NET libraries from the commvault server. After each library was removed, the operation of the CommVault mail archive was tested. In the end, from the group of .NET Core libraries, the .NET Core 2.1.5 library failed to reinstall. After replacing it with another, newer version, the mail archive stops working.The .NET Core versions tested were 3.1.19, 6.0.1, 6.0.16, 6.0.31.Is there any way to replace the .NET Core 2.1.5 library with another current version? Regards,Michał

Hello community,11.33.45Trying to configure the Oracle RAC Client for Unified Data Guard and reaching the point of setting up streams.The documentation states: "The archivelog subclient for the primary site should have streams configured only for the primary nodes; the streams for the remaining nodes should be set to 0. For the standby site, configure streams for the standby nodes only and set the remaining node streams to 0 in that standby archivelog subclient. " Question:Should this configuration be done at the RAC subclient level or at the physical node level? :If configured at the RAC subclient level, streams will be set to a value for primary nodes and 0 for remaining nodes. However, after failover, when the standby site takes over backup, since its stream is set to zero, the backup won't run... If streams are set at the physical node level, can the primary node see the standby node?  Morning All,We recently upgrade our environment to 11.32.20 from 11.28.68, post update our clients are unable to perform guest file browse operations from the Admin Console. Prior to the upgrade clients were able to perform these operations without issue. Hi, Can we generate the report for a storage policy to see how much data written daily?For example, I have a storage policy that is scheduled for incremental from Monday to Thursday, and a full on Friday. Hello community  we have extended retention for Yearly backup keep for infiniteIf we change yearly extended retention to a monthly extended retention for infinite (no longer have extended retention for yearly), what happens to the yearly backups? Do the old yearly backups already on the backup storage/media start to get aging off ? thanks

Hi allI have a question about the running of parallel aux copy tasks - why two parallel tasks do not execute one after the other. After reaching approximately 80%, the job stops, then enters the "Waiting" state and the second aux copy job is started.Details:Commvault version 11.32Tasks start at the same time (same Schedule Policy)The same Global Secondary Copy PolicyUse Scalable Resource Allocation - Yes (in 11.28 it could be turned off and the tasks ran sequentially) The copy is transferred to the tape library The library has two drives but only one is used (GSC settings - device streams: 1 - this is a consciously set parameter) Priority 266 Is it possible to make some setting so that the first task ends and then starts the second one? Thank you all in advance for any tips.

Dear Community,  anyone has experience with DB2 point in time restore of more than 1.5 TB Database if yes can you share me how long it takes … in my case almost 9 hours taken for restore. data restore taking 4 to 5 hours and roll forward taken 4 to 5 hours.

Hello Commvault Community,  Do you know if it is possible to change the screen resolution while performing the 1-touch procedure? When someone uses this solution (1-touch) and has a small screen at their disposal, it is difficult to complete the entire process without using an XML file with embedded answers. A person who uses the 1-touch configuration quite often claims that in previous versions there was no such problem and now the resolution is extremely low (process performed by ISO for SP32).Thanks in advance,Kamil  

Hi all,after Commvault software upgrade to 11.32.49 Exchange backup is failing with the following error alert - Error - Did not find an exchange server with IDA installed, No Exchange Server available. Indeed, it is not possible to discover active DAG servers. There are only some DAG servers greyed out. However, when trying Check readiness, all seems to be ready. Additionally, we have tried to unistall and install client Commvault software again. Moreover, when tried to add again Exchange client from Client Computer → New Client → Exchange DAG Client → Discover - DAG Discover failed. Do you have any idea how to troubleshoot this issue? Any help will be much appreciated! 

Hello, I have some issue with finishing on time with FS Agent backup, the widow time is 6 hours. Till 2 weeks ago i had no probleem with scanning and then starting backup., but now the scan taking to long and then starting of backup taking to long aswell.  Here is some logs of last failed backup. The backup staerting at 2AM, the scan finished at 5AM, there is 3 hour more to take the backup and 8 am the job wil be killed because of run time.  The amount of files is not really changed

Hi, we have a few VM Groups which I want to disable and exclude from the Schedule. The VM Groups are associated to a Server Plan. If I disable the Backup of the VM Group the Backup Schedule will start the Backup like for the other associated Clients but will fail in the end.Is there a way to disable the VM Grroup and keep the Backups and also disable the VM Group from being triggered by the Schedule?The Job is also visible as Failed in the Job List and all the Reports which is a little bit confusing.Kind RegardsFlorian

Use View Failed Items to see the folder names.“When we look at the failed items we see:“Failed - All messages in folder [\~Archive Mailbox\~TeamsMessagesData], mailbox []The article Exchange Online backups fail with "Cannot open folder TeamsMessagesData. Hello, I have an environment in which the commservers are separated on the domain and network side as well as on the hardware side from the clients to be secured (HW firewall, segmentation, backup domain, standalone ESXI for CV commservers etc). This means that no push installation from the commserve works. We had then installed clients with a software cache in the target domains, but now installing from them no longer works either. VMware NSX and other hardening measures were introduced.Is there a description/process flow somewhere of how exactly the remote push installation works and what could be limiting it here? Does the client to be installed access the software cache via SMB or is the data sent there? Who makes the access via WMI/DCOM (Commserve, SoftwareCache Client) and can this be controlled? Thanks for information.
