Anyone have some insight on the following:We have a FSBasedBackup set for multiple PostgreSql databases. Databases are quite big in size. There is a full backup scheduled to run once per day and log (incremental) backups hourly. Full backups are taking 1 to 3 hrs to complete.We often execute planned "refreshes" (restore point in time) of these backups to another environment.The idea is, if i select a restore point in time from a timeframe when the full backup was still running (full backup backup already completed successfully), Commvault does not discover any backup data during browse. If we choose to restore to any other point in time outside of the full backup, restores are working fine.Is this working as expected? Does this means that i do not have any recovery point during the timeframe when the full was running (looks odd to me)? Hi All,is it possible to exclude subclients without recent full or synfull backups from the Health Report, if the subclient has zero data.I’ve got a couple of VM Group subclients, that do not discover any VMs.Content is searching for Tags, that are currently not assigned to VMs.as a result, I got a critical state in the Health Report which I have to ignore.Better, if such content is not counted at all.full and synfull schedules are in place for these subclients/VM groups, but as I said, end up with 0 bytes.rgdsKlaus

Hello, I can´t log in to access the health dashboard in CV Cloud website since crowdstrike issue. Is there any unsolved problem affecting the website? Once entered the user name it takes me to a blank url (https://cloud.commvault.com/identity/openIdConnectCallback.do)In the few times it allows me to enter the password it returns an error message saying “ Failed to get necessary permissions from User”Thanks!

I must be blind as I cannot see from the explanations on On-Demand Data Protection Operations (commvault.com) how the subclient of the on-demand backupset on some client knows where to search for the directive or content files? I mean does it simply search the entire / fs looking for some hints? Where’s Waldo? Do they sit under the Base directory or ?? I understand the concept, but in NetBackup-land you had to at least give it a hint as to where those directives reside. thanks

Hello,From a jumpbox, Instead of connecting to each commserve with mremote (RDP) I want to use the netx.jar.I installed Java Adoptium, all is fine,According to the documentation I need to open the port 8401 from the jumpbox to the commserves.443 is already opened and I can access to the CommandCenterfor 80-81 not opened yet Cybersecurity doesn’t allow this.The Cybersecurity say that I have to use SSL to connect using the netx.jarAny option to perform that ? I saw the useful post of @KeyboardUser Thanks !   

Hello,we recently updated our MariaDB from 10.6.16 to 11.1.5 on an Ubuntu 20.04. server.The backup is now exiting with error “Got improper MySQL version”.According to the documentation it seems only MariaDB versions 10.x are supported.MySQL: System Requirements (commvault.com) Is there no support at all for versions 11.x moving forward or will this eventually get added in the future? Our Commcell currently is at 11.32.42 Thanks in advance.

Hi,Currently our CommServe and Media Agent are located in a domain. For security reasons, we would like to remove the Media Agent from the domain.Would it be sufficient to make sure the CommServe communicates with the Media Agent over IP instead of FQDN, and the same for the Media Agent to the CommServe?Do we need to think about anything else?Or can we just remove the Media Agent from the domain? I suppose DNS will still work even outside of the domain.Thanks.

Hi, We ran into a problem where the Linux Media Agent processes hung and showed duplicate processes.We tried to stop them using “Commvault stop” and “systemctl stop commvault,” but with no luck.We ended up rebooting the server, which solved the problem. Commvault version: 11.32.42Media Agent OS: Red Hat 8.9 What can cause this problem, and how can we resolve it without restarting the server?

Hello Guys, is there someone who can explain how to create user group with role view only ? i mean whenever this account login to command center he just can view the command center and not permitted to do add or remove (edit anything) on command center ? 

On one of our media agents I came accross a folder named  ..\iDataAgent\JobResults\DM2CacheDir\EdgeCollectIt did not contain any data, but tens of thousands of empty subfolders. At first I thought it might be related to Threat Analysis, but that software package is not installed. I renamed the folder, and it got recreated again.The media agent had the index server roles Data Analytics, EDGE drive, and FileSystem Index assigned. I removed EDGE drive, and renamed the EdgeCollect folder, but it was recreated again.What’s the purpose of this folder, and which process/functionality is using it?

Hello I need to migrate an existing commserve cum mediaagent to a new site/server.During the migration both existing and new commserve should remain active for backups for about three months. Then old commserve will just be preserved for legacy restores.How can this be best achieved without buying a seperate license for new commserve? Thanks

Hi Team,I am wondering if anyone here uses Commvault to integrate with HPE’s SimpliVity in order to drive backups.Asking because I’m not seeing any advantages. My preference would be to allow for discovery using a service-account which can make use of the VSA agent.If I’m missing something, please shout-up. Otherwise my understanding will be that SimpliVity is just an ESX plugin and it’s something Commvault doesn’t necessarily need to use.My specific config (and preference) would be for a Media Agent to exist on one of the Hosts, we install the VSA agent, config a library and away we go.  The fact that SimpliVity exists in the environment … I’m not sure why we would consider engaging it for backup use.So … it would be interesting to hear your feedback (if anyone has it).Thanks

I have some issues about DDB Verification when run FULL, the job stuck on 13%. please anyone know about this issue? 

We have file system backup to disk then to tape.Recently when we want to restore some files, we found the history for extended retention is missing.We have thousand of tape. How can we know our backup job is write to which tape?By the way, I have logged case to CV support Case ID: 240715-148.Support has help us run audit report, still cannot find any related history.

Hello Community !I have a commserve on premise primary site cs01Primary MA on primary site ma01 with DAS (Storage pool with dedup enabled)Secondary MA on the secondary site ma02 with LUN presented for disk library (Storage pool with dedup enabled) I want to simulate a manual full DR on secondary site without impacting the production. I don’t want to use the livesync for the moment. The idea is to build a new commserve on a isolated environment, import the DR backup Database to the new cs01copy the Media agent ma02 VM on the isolated envthen I’ll have the new cs01 and the media agent on the seconcary site isolated environnementWhat about the DDB and Index cacheWhat I know is the DDB isn’t necessary to perform restores.Maybe additionnal steps are required ? Thanks for the help !

Hi,I have configured the following Topology which has all clients backing up to a HSX Cluster via Proxies. The Proxies have the following installed.  All backups & restore are going through the proxies and I am happy with this setup but I have two queries. Is there a way to tell what proxy the backup job going through ? You can’t see the proxy mentioned on the job logs or under streams running the job.  You also can’t see if when you add the Network Gateway column to your job controller window.  When testing restores I stop the CV services on two of my three proxies. I run a restore job and the job fails and it says it can’t communicate with a proxy “name” - my thinking here is it tries to use the same proxy for restore as it did for backup and as its off its fails. If I select Advanced Options → Use MediaAgent and select the only running proxy then the restore job completes. Is there a way for the restore job to look for a Proxy that's able to communicate rather than me having to
