Hello,I create a plan, and associated it to SAP HANA subclients.the backup must be scheduled by external scheduler. third party (command line).as the plan includes also the schedules, how to avoid to have both schedule running, the goal is to disable the schedule on Commvault side. When using storage policies, no problem, we just create a Storage policy without a plan assoociate to it. Thanks !  

Hi all! Hope things are going well!**Sorry, there is a wrong title of topic  → we need to migrate from LTO8M to LTO8**I am coming to you with a question.We were using LTO8 tapes in our storage policies, then due to savings someone decided to start using LTO8M… now all recent backups are written on LTO8M And we do have some older backup on LTO8 and some on LTO8M:What we need to do is to have all those date on LTO8 due to some compatibility problems. So my question is - is there a way to migrate those data from LTO8M to LTO8 within this one particular copy? We have calculated and to store all data we would need around 100 new tapes of LTO8, but about half data is already on LTO8 tapes.  We thought about creating a new synchronous policy, but it will require all data to be rewritten on new LTO8 tapes, we would like to avoid that because we already do have part of data on LTO8. I would be glad if you have any tips which might avoid us buying unnecessary amount of new tapes.

Horizontal scaling enabled.. | Community (commvault.com) ) but doesnt help :(  So my question is how can i prevent creating an new ddb because of high qi times ? DDB(s) reaching QI time threshold for adding new Subclients [ {DDB [XXXX] MediaAgent [XXXX] Path [XXXX] AvgQITime [670] Free Space Percentage [56] } ]. New DDB(s) may gets created if it crosses threshold. Please review the DDB configuration, for more details refer Deduplication Building Block Guide on Books Online. I dont find any additional settings to prevent creating new ddb

Hello Everyone,Is it possible to recover data from a tape that was used in a previous CV instance?For example, data was previously backed up to tape using CV instance.  Then a few years later that CV instance was uninstalled and no longer exists.  Is there a way to recover data from that tape using any CV tools?Thanks for any information

My backups are running at 66 days and only 44 -60 % done. Obviously I cannot continue.  There are a number of articles on slow performance but they are in an area that I am not privileged to see.  There is no errors or events.  The backups are a mix of windows file servers and vms . I am not versed enough with commvault to quickly get to the heart of the matter.

Hello all! We are working on PostreSQL implementation process. Our customer wants to have this kind of schedule:Log Backup Schedule = Every 2 hoursSchedule = 1 x full 6 x incr,  So we have done that schedule: For LOG backup:There is “incremental” chosen and Data is NOT chosen Other schedule is created for “incremental” backup:There is “incremental” chosen and Data IS chosen When i do run this schedule manually or even if it runs automatically, i can see only this:​​​​​​​so no matter which schedule run JobType is always “Log Only” If I do run manually backup and chose incremental, it also uses “Log Only” job type. This backup is based on FSBasedBackupSet So if it is even a way to do a normal Incremental backup for PostgreSQL? Or it will always be “log only”?While running Full backup i can see that there are also logs and Full backup:I am wondering, hot to handle backup retentions if there is nothing like “straight forward incremental backup”​​​​​​​

Im planning to move the web server/console out of the Commserver to reduce the load on the Commserve.  I would like to implement it in 2 sites ( active/active ) if possible to attain resiliency and high availability. This is sort of a hardware refresh with 2 additional web servers/consoles being built in 2 sites.  Hoping for some guidance on how to achieve this goal.Thanks for any information provided

Hello all!We do have a problem with a Windows server.There was server XYZ which was migrated to Server 2022.So a new server with the same name was created in VMware XYZThe old server was stopped, and new server was addressed with the same IP.Old server was renamed in VMware to XYZ_old.And now we do have a problem….We do have two entries in CommvaultXYZ and XYZ_oldFor VMware snapshot XYZ is our server which will be backed up.But after installation of SQL and FS Core package on NEW server it somehow appears on XYZ_old server… and whats even funnier i am able to browse server, and configure SQL backup. So wo have two entities in commvault now:XYZ_old which contains an FS and SQL agentXYZ which contains VM backup. In VMware the original XYZ server is not existing any more! it was deleted. I have released licensees for the old server, reconfigured it, retired and tried to change ip, but still when we install FS core on this server it continues to install on the XYZ_old…We have tried to merg

Does Commvault Version 11.32.54 support Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.9?

There are two tape media with identical barcode in the tape library. When try to export either of the media, it doesn't get exported to IEport. Try the other tape, there is no issue. What would be the procedure to take out the media and re-label one of them and get it work again?

I have multiple VM’s of Red Hat Linux OS.And in our environment, VM backups are configured at vCenter level.Our server team did OS upgrade from Red Hat Linux 7 to Red Hat Linux 8 (In place upgrade of OS).Even when new VM backup ran for the servers, the OS version is not changed to Linux 8.Do I need to delete VMClientDB file from all VSA proxies to rediscover the latest OS version of the VM’s?Or anything else.Please help me out here.

Hey Guys,we got by multiple Customers this Event since yesterday:Commserve failed to download the proactive support request configuration from the Cloud Metrics Reporting Server.Commserve failed to connect to Cloud Reporting Server to download scripts.Access the download URL from the explorer and verify. But the DR Upload works fine and the Cloud Metrics Upload Task looks fine too.Any idea whats wrong here ?

Hello, We are starting to use the Commvault Command Center more and more and moving away from the using the commcell (at some point).Are there any good comprehensive Video Tutorials on using the Command Center? like especially for basic stuff restores (file-level, SQL, VM file-level/Full VM restores) adding new client servers for backup, upgrading clients).I know there is info out there I just want to know if there are any exceptional tutorials that anyone recommand.Thanks for any help in advance!
