Just to make sure. When does Commvault software start counting days for the purpose of expiring jobs on secondary copies? When backup jobs are immediately available on them?

Hi All,We are using Commvault as part DR plan to restore an EC2 application server in AWS.Our RTO is 4 hours.Will we be able to acchive this RTO?Size max 2 TB EC2 server and minimum 250 GB EC2 server. Regards,Rahul

We have setup the Commvault Server in Azure cloud and tried to take the VM backup from the on premise .But getting the error as “”Error Code: [91:449]Description: Error opening     the disks for virtual machine [TestAPVP001]. The media agent goes offline after a while. Restarting the services on the media agent resolves the problem temporarily, but it goes offline again after some time. All server groups are in the same VLAN. We recently transitioned to this system, using Exagrid84 as the backup storage. I have two media agents, one virtual and the other physical (named comm-media and comm-media1, respectively). This setup has been working smoothly for about 2 months. In an effort to reduce backup times, I prepared another virtual media agent and added it to Commvault. However, when I shared it as a third media agent to the Exagrid84 mount paths, both the paths and the comm-media agent went offline.While installing the Commvault agent on the third virtual machine, despite having .NET 4.7 on a Windows Server 2016, it prompted an error saying it should be version 3.5. Hello,opening a new thread becaus i couldn´t find anything covering my situation specifically.My client wants to upgrade his ComCell from SP16 to 11.32. I am aware, I have to upgrade to 2022E first and then 11.32 second. At the same time the underlying OS 2012R2 is supposed to be upgraded to 2019. The SQL Installation needs to be upgraded as well. Is there a best practice recomendation on the order of operation?Is it realistic to go well with doing all of this in place or would you recommend instaling everything on a new system and then moving the CommCell over to that new system via DR? Cheers for any recommendations!

Looking at M365 backups and see some restores takes quite a bit of time. From the CVMailRestore.log on the access node this line seems to indicate most of the restore time.CVFetchMessages::EnumerateFolder - Time taken to enumerate folder: [Inbox] is [00h:09m:16s]Based on this I’m wondering what this line means in term of performance? Where should i look to try to increase performance of this step? Is it enumerating the inbox in m365? Is it enumerating the inbox on the commvault indexingserver?Monitoring the accessnode and indexserver during the restore I cannot see any excessive use of CPU/RAM so unsure where to look, or if there is anything to speed this up?

we have strange issue , media agent is online and library is offline , and coming back online after sometime , some times media agent goes offline and come back online , and client backup is happening without any issue sometimes getting error saying unable to connect with remote machine . we dont have any firewall in between all are on same vlan , no antivirus ,the issues is intermittent , our media agent is a physical server Dell , we configured teaming for network in switch independent mode

How do I change the main admin commserve account password in Commvault? I know the current password I just can’t find where to change it.

Hi,Each job gives Read, Write, Network, and DDB lookup metrics.I’ve always understood “Network” to be “waiting on data transfer from the Client to the MA.”But I have a Client which is its own MA, and does parallel copy directly from itself to S3--but the “Network” number is still sometimes the highest percentage.What does “Network” mean in this context? (The DDB does live on a different MA.)Thanks!Sheree

HiWe want to be able to scale better but we need to still utilize our existing SANs as storageso as far as I can read we have two optionsSAN Data Server NAS box in front of our SAN (HNAS or something like that) I would to hear from people who use SAN Data Server what is your setup like and have you found any problems that I need to consider before going that route?  We have fiber channel connection from all MediaAgent to SAN today so we only need to buy a server and put the QLogic cards in then the infrastructure should be in place..Best regardsBjarke

Hi Everyone,We have multiple commserve’s available, in one of the commserve when I tried to execute below SQL query to fetch the data it’s taking more than 7 mins to complete where environment is smaller in size. I’ve been asked by the company lawyer to recover an email.  I can go into Compliance Search, specify the user in the FROM area, enter a search term and find the desired email.  So far so good.  Next I select Export to > PST > and enter a file name.  My question is:  Where does this file go?  It’s not in the Downloads folder of my local drive or anywhere on my local machine.  It’s not on the CommVault web server and not anywhere on the CommServer either.  So… any ideas?Ken
