Hi, looking for someone to confirm what I’m seeing on a RHEL CS with regards to the Java-based Scheduler as seen from the Console. While Limitations of Linux CommServe Server (commvault.com) doesn’t speak about this, to me it looks like the calendar is foobar. There’s no way to see what’s scheduled (details) for any day and all schedules are basically absent, yet, plans run, etc. So can someone check whether this is deprecated or if it needs some special attention to get functional again? I’ve made great strides moving things to plans but I still find the old Console tools to be quite beneficial when figuring out when runtimes are roughly. In our case it seems nearly impossible to completely do away with old style schedules, OnDemand backupsets being one such case.thanks

Where can i find the health report that tells me the heath of the my platform. Not just the critiical, good, or info example page . I am looking for where on the  command center it tells me what’s not up to date or is all set. I did  find it under the health page. Thanks in advance.

Hi together,I would like to understand how encryption works in detail.The situation: I am using client side encryption (at the source) and I want to use encrypted (or authenticated) network traffic between client and media agent.When I am using encrypted network traffic, all information (backup data and meta data … i.e. index, jobsresults) is encrpyted at the source (client) and decrypted at the target (media agent).The encryption/decryption is consuming CPU … of course.Does Commvault indentify that the backup data is already encrypted in this situation … or will the data be encrypted a second time for the network traffic … wasting my CPU? Or is Commvault only encrypting the meta-data for the network traffic?Best regards.Michael    

Friends,I want to use a script to retire/delete VMs from Commvault when the last backup is at a certain age. As we are a tenant customer, we don’t have options like Workflows.So I build a Powershell script to collect data, do different checks and fire Rest calls to Commvault.I can delete via the following command and this works fine:Invoke-RestMethod -Method 'Delete' -Headers $headers -Uri $($url + "/v4/virtualmachines/$UUID") But I can’t find the option to Retire the VM !And important in this case that I only retire the VM backup, not the client, as FS and SQL backups might be still in use. Anyone who knows how to Retire a VM using Rest-API ? Thanks in advance, Maurice

We need help.We are currently using Commvault version 11.20 and backing up VM images. However, we are experiencing some issues where the VM backup frequently fails even though some backups are successful. We are unsure whether the issue is with Commvault or VMware, so we are leaving a question here.If you are aware of any issues regarding this problem or can suggest additional log data to check, we would appreciate it.Attached are the logs.

We are performing the Physical server restoration to Azure with Virtualize me option form the command center, During the restore we are getting below error. Same server if we perform the Virtualize me restoration from the GUI console, the restoration will be success but the server is not booting in the Azure. also we noticed during the restore the multiple VHD are getting created. But the server is having only 2 drive C and F. Also i want to highlight here, In the general tab we are not bale to list/select the Hypervisor client, there is bug in it. Could you please help me to fix the issue.   

Hi, I'm carrying out tests in a laboratory environment to prepare for the migration of our CommVault solution, currently in version 11.28 on-premise. The aim is to create a new Windows Server 2022 virtual machine in Azure Cloud and migrate our CommVault database to it. So I created a new Windows Server 2022 Datacenter machine and installed CommVault version 11.32, as I couldn't find version 11.28 available for download from the CommVault store. The installation went well, but I wasn't asked to create any new users or passwords, which I thought was unusual.When I launch the CommCell console, I'm asked to enter a username or email address and a password. I've tried using the credentials for the local administrator account on the Windows machine, but I keep getting the following error message: "Invalid username/password. Anyone have some insight on the following:We have a FSBasedBackup set for multiple PostgreSql databases. Databases are quite big in size. There is a full backup scheduled to run once per day and log (incremental) backups hourly. Full backups are taking 1 to 3 hrs to complete.We often execute planned "refreshes" (restore point in time) of these backups to another environment.The idea is, if i select a restore point in time from a timeframe when the full backup was still running (full backup backup already completed successfully), Commvault does not discover any backup data during browse. If we choose to restore to any other point in time outside of the full backup, restores are working fine.Is this working as expected? Does this means that i do not have any recovery point during the timeframe when the full was running (looks odd to me)? Hi All,is it possible to exclude subclients without recent full or synfull backups from the Health Report, if the subclient has zero data.I’ve got a couple of VM Group subclients, that do not discover any VMs.Content is searching for Tags, that are currently not assigned to VMs.as a result, I got a critical state in the Health Report which I have to ignore.Better, if such content is not counted at all.full and synfull schedules are in place for these subclients/VM groups, but as I said, end up with 0 bytes.rgdsKlaus

Hello, I can´t log in to access the health dashboard in CV Cloud website since crowdstrike issue. Is there any unsolved problem affecting the website? Once entered the user name it takes me to a blank url (https://cloud.commvault.com/identity/openIdConnectCallback.do)In the few times it allows me to enter the password it returns an error message saying “ Failed to get necessary permissions from User”Thanks!

Do you know how to do this or is this information incorrect? Hi all,My customer use a specific commvault tunnel port instead of default one. We have installed fresh HSX reference architecture in 11.32.We have noticed that by disabling firewall on HSX node, commvault firewall is working, rather than when it’s enabled, probably due to default rule allowing the default commvault tunnel port (8403)It’s referred on this link : https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/firewall_port_requirements_for_hyperscale_x_reference_architecture.htmlIs there any way to allow a rule in firewalld to override default commvault firewall tunnel port (8403) to a specific port currently used in my customer commvault environment ? Many ThanksVincent

After the recent recommendation notice, we’re looking to turn on Compliance Lock for our air-gapped Aux Copy, which uses Metallic Recovery Reserve as the cloud storage.The copy currently has a retention set to 28 days and 2 cycles.Our VM backups are set to back up via datastore, with Commvault automatically assigned each VM as it’s own “subclient”.  I’m seeing situations where a VM is deleted from VMware and the backup is being kept in the aux copy because it’s trying to retain 2 cycles, even though the server no longer exists.  We obviously would not want this to happen when Compliance Lock was turned on as there would be backups for decommissioned servers hanging around forever.  I’m guessing something similar would happen for other server that do have their own clients, were you to try and remove them.Does anybody know the best way to deal with retention in this scenario?Thanks

Hello,I am running Data Verification on a DDB. The Total Application Size of the DDB is 930TB. Does the Data Verification job need to process then entire 930TB? I’m not getting accurate estimated completion time as the job is showing as 99% complete with 600TB processed. It keeps adding more jobs for processing.
