Good afternoon everyone.I have a question regarding a complete environment update. In this environment, there's a machine running Commserve and MediaAgent. It previously had version 11.32.122 and was updated to 11.32.80. When I check communication with this machine (performing a Readiness Check), it indicates that the Web Server and Command Center are not ready. However, the software programs open when I try to open them. Is this normal after an update, or am I missing some configuration steps?I've attached screenshots of the situation. I would greatly appreciate your help.Thanks.

Hi everyone,I’m planning to convert virtual machines from VMware to Hyper-V using Commvault’s “VM Conversion” feature. The official documentation https://documentation.commvault.com/11.42/commcell-console/converting_from_vmware_to_hyper_v.html mentions that a Windows Server 2012 R2 host is required as the destination system. Is this requirement still valid, or is there support for newer Windows versions? best regards,Andreas

I currently have an environment running Commvault version 11.24, and I am planning to upgrade to version 11.32. The CommServe database is hosted on Microsoft SQL Server 2012.Before proceeding, I need to confirm the following: Is SQL Server 2012 still supported in Commvault 11.32? I would appreciate any guidance or experiences from similar scenarios.

Not sure how old this behavior is but im using the latest Linux 1-touch 11.28 x64 iso. I restored a linux server to original hardware. When booting the server after restore, we noticed the nfs volumes were not mounted. they were usually mounted in the fstab file. When i looked at the fstab file it was not the original we used but a new one created automatically by the restore. It looks like it saved the original fstab in a backup file. Its easy to fix, either manually edit the fstab file or restore the old one but its strange we have to do this.There is an option to ‘Retain only selected mount points in /etc/fstab’ (checked by default) I tried to test it with this checked and unchecked and either way the old fstab was not restored and nfs mounts were not mounted. I dont know if there are other ways in which this might cause a problem but i suspect there might be. It’s not a huge deal but its very annoying when it seems restoring the original fstab file should be the default option. We have a large number for VMware VMs that are getting migrated to new hardware. As such, the VMs will reside in a new VMware virtual client within Commvault. Is there a way to take a VSA based user defined subclient and it’s contents (namely the VMs) and move or clone them to a different virtual client? We’ve looked at the clone_subclient_template.xml but that appears to only clone to the same virtual client not a different one. Has anyone done this before or know of an auotmated way to accomplish this? Thanks!

Hi all,One of our customers is backing up a Red Hat OpenShift environment with Commvault. Using CV 11.40.xxI have some employees of this company in my training, and one of the guys asked me whether it is possible to restore a cluster to a DR site with a different cluster ID. They are having trouble with the Cluster ID, that's what I understood. SInce I have no experience at all with Open Shift, can anybody shine a light onn this? Thanks and kind regards,Henk

Hi,Here is my situation :For a specific server plan, a synthetic full is missing for July and August. We have extended retention for this server plan on AirGap so that one full by month is kept for a year. I have Synthetic full with all VMs of the subclient for : May, June and September but I don't have Synthetic full for : July and August. The difference between these months is that we added a virtual machine in July and August. At the time of addition, there are full backups to back up only the virtual machine we just added. Here is the answer of the support :When a new VM is added to a subclient, Commvault automatically will take a full backup for that VM during the next scheduled backup. If, during July and August, the synthetic full backup for the subclient was not triggered or completed, it may be because the schedule detected that a full backup was required for the newly added VMs. As a result, the synthetic full operation was skipped for those months and instead a full backup w

Hey Guys,I have a question.My customer has several Windows 11 VMs on his Nutanix. The problem is we cannot backup them. I have already read here in the forum that you should simply remove the vTPM. But this is not possible for this customer. Does anyone have this case?Surely it must be possible to back up the VMs anyway?

Hi together,we are currently running the Commserve on 11.36.65 and are using several clients with Centos 6.5 and 6.7. These clients had been upgraded from previous versions and are running with 11.28 and 11.36.Now we want to install a new Centos 6.6 (Intel, not Power). We are trying to use 11.20.40 and 11.28 and 11.32 but everytime we get the error: SIM install requirement failed. Hi all.I hope to get some inspiration or thoughts about a new setup that I’m tumbling with. . I have a 11.40 Commcell and in this Commcell I want to use 2 MediaAgents. The 2 MediaAgents should be setup so that they can act as “failovers” for each other. So if MA01 is offline, MA02 can continue to run backups of clients for both MA01 and MA02 and also continue to do restores of data that MA01 backed-up.2 MediaAgents with separate SSD’s for OS, index and ddb.
