Hi,I’m testing backup of M365. I’ve setup Commvault instance 11.40.34 on Windows.I’ve added Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business - no problem.But when I’m trying to add Sharepoint Online app (throught Protect → Office 365 → Sharepoint Online - Configure now) then app is added, but it’s not Sharepoint but Exchange.I’ve setup separate applications for all apps with proper permissions according to the documentation.I just did everything similar to adding Exchange or OneDrive, tried few times with no luck. Any ideas?

Hi All, short question :) We have nutanix ahv vms with quest os windows 11 and tmp active. We are running cv 11.40.10 when we try to run vsa snaphsot we are getting the error vm not found. Do you know if this constellation is supported ? 

Hi All,I’m hoping for some guidance from those who have completed this step of the deployment (Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory) I want to give the service account least privileged access to the domain as I am not comfortable with giving the service account full domain admin rights as it has been suggested by the deployment team.Has anyone got a break down of steps to achieve the above in Active directory? from what I've seen looks like we need to perform some of the required permissions within ADSI Edit?Any guidance would be great especially from those who have implemented this successfully.

The M365 admin center reports my OneDrive as having 2.8M files consuming 8.1TB of space.But when I go into Commvault I see numbers that are totally different. In Commvault I see either 1) the latest backup had 3.2M active and 0.7M Inactive for a total of 3.9M files or 2) all backups with 6.6M Active and 2.0M inactive for a total of 8.6M files.Likewise, the disk space used is reported as either 1) the latest backup with 3.4TB Active and 1.6TB Inactive for a total of 5.0TB or 2) 9.6TB Active and 4.0TB inactive for a total of 13.6TB.Is there any way to drill down into Commvault to figure out why the numbers – particularly the “latest backup” file counts – are so different from what is reported by Microsoft?

Is anyone currently testing the new feature of restoring Exchange messages to a Blob storage? https://documentation.commvault.com/11.42/software/restore_mailboxes_to_azure_blob_storage_account.html. Have you been able to restore to a PST that is larger then 1GB? Are you locking the blob network to public IP only? Just looking to start a conversation on this.  Hector

Hi all. How would the procedure be, to do a Linux OS refresh from Rocky Linux to RHEL? The servers have local OS, ddb and index disks, and the MA’s have block storage mounted disks for the library.The hardware need to be reused, so I just want to reinstall OS, but keep DDB, index, library data, server name and IP, so that the server can continue operations after the Linux OS refresh.. Any suggestions on how to do this and any recommendations appreciated. Regards-Anders

Hi,Since I upgraded the CS to 11.36.83 I wasn’t able to connect with MFA option to web console and JAVA.Before the upgrade it works fine and nothing has been changed with the users and groups.I’m also tried to upgrade to 11.36.87 but still no working, when I’m canceling the MFA option we can login with no problem. Any ideas?Thanks 

Hi,I was wondering how people are scheduling backups. (for example file system backups)Do you only run incrementals and Synthetic fulls? Or do you sometimes run a “real” full?For example, 1 “real” full a month, a daily incremental and a weekly synthetic full.I’ve always heard never to “only” use incrementals and synthetic fulls, and to slip in a “real” full backup once in a while. What would be the reasoning behind it?Looking forward to hear your feedback.

Hi all,I need to move the CS DB to another location as I didn't follow the best practices for the LV size and mixed it with other stuff on the same volume. For Windows, I could solve everything with my own admin account and MSSMS.However, I need to do this now on the Linux environment and I'm afraid of changing the sa password to allow me connecting to the system remotely and use MSSMS GUI.What happens if I change the sa account password? Can later I force an operation via Commcell console, so Commvault will ask me for the new one?For example, on Linux I can easily do this:stop sql server service/opt/mssql/bin/mssql-conf set-sa-passwordstart sql server serviceUntil here, fine. What about ensuring the Commvault knows the new pwd?The reason is that to perform the change of CS DB location I need to detatch the databases, move the mdf files and attach them again.Is there any other way to do it on Linux environment?Thanks in advance.

Hi Vaulters, In order to implement a Vault site which will contain one MediaAgent in it, we wanted to restrict the communication of this MediaAgent to only the CS + MAs in Prod site and make connection only be established through the Vault site. To make things even securised, we wanted to use a dedicated port for the Vault MA unstead of the defaults 8400/8403. Seems this can be achived through One-Way network topology while setting : Vault MA → Prod CS/MAs.But not sure about the customized port to be used, as from OS/Network perspective only the custom port will be allowed between the Vault MA and Prod CS/MAs. Should the custom port be set in the below screenshot during topology creation or set as an additional setting in the Vault MA (nCVDPORT) or both ? How to let CV know that the communication will only be established by the Vault MA and use a defined port ?  This is a bit confusing.Thanks in advance. 

Hi,I am encountering an issue with VSA backups on a Nutanix AHV cluster.The Scenario: I ran a manual Full Backup for a specific VM. The job status is "Completed". Immediately after the job finished, I tried to browse and restore a vDisk (scsi-1). The file appears in the index, but when clicking restore, I get the error: "Cannot Restore since there is no data available" The Anomaly: Restoring the same VM from the scheduled nightly backup works perfectly. The issue seems specific to this fresh manual job.Environment: Commvault VSA for Nutanix AHV. Disks are standard vDisks (not Volume Groups / iSCSI Guest). Proxy has full access to the container (verified by the successful nightly restore). Question: Is there a known Indexing Commit latency specifically for AHV that prevents immediate restores right after job completion? Or is this likely a CRT/Snapshot lookup failure on the Nutanix CVM side during the manual run?Thanks.

We are retiring a VMware DC and the admins are moving the VMs from the original vCenter to a completely different vCenter. I believe they are cloning them but not 100% sure. Anyway, we have been removing the VM from it’s original user defined subclient in vCenter X and adding it to a new subclient in vCenter Y. The VM name and vc.uuid has not changed. I noticed when we do this we now show two defaultBackupSet’s under the clients VMInstance - defaultBackupSet and defaultBackupSet_Vir-NewOne. After 7 days, we start getting alerts that the VM hasn’t been backed up in 7 days under the old VC and subclient. Trying to understand why CV is doing this and if this is fine or should we be moving these differently? And why, if the VM no longer is in the old subclient would CV thinks it should still be getting backed up thru it. Thanks.

Hello Fello Commvaulters I hav the task of moving our current Index Cache and DDB database dat from their current drives I & D respectively to two new drives on the SAME media agent?  I can see a workflow which Ive used many times to move the data between the old media agent and the new one.  This is movement from within the same box. I dont see a WF in how to do this.  Anyone any ideas?  Also worth pointing out the “Index Server” tab on my media agent is greyed out.

HelloWe just applied the latest maintenance patch to our 11.32. Commvault environment a few days ago to bring us to 11.32.128  (from 11.32.125) and I noticed this morning scans showed a log4j vulnerability. Plugin Output:   Path              : C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\CVCIEngine\CvPreviewHome\webapps\CvContentPreviewGenApp\WEB-INF\lib\log4j-core-2.17.1.jar  Installed version : 2.17.1  Fixed version     : 2.25.3  Path              : C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\MessageQueue\lib\optional\log4j-core-2.24.3.jar  Installed version : 2.24.3  Fixed version     : 2.25.3 Is there a fix or patch that Commvault will release to address this.  Maybe in the next months maintenance release?   Any input would be appreciated. ThanksBC

Hello Commvault Community,  Does Commvault support backup of Proxmox VMs with a GPU card connected as PCI pass-through? There's no information in the Commvault documentation about whether it supports it or not, but the snapshot itself runs fine on the Proxmox side. When we try backup through the Commvault system, there's a problem with taking the snapshot, and the log shows the following information: ===--> FAILED                      Error creating virtual machine snapshot.  VM 103 qmp command 'savevm-start' failed - VM snapshot already started === When backup runs through Commvault, there aren’t manually taken snapshots on the virtual machine.Thanks in advance!Kind Regards,Kamil
