So, I’ve inheirited this installation a few years ago. One thing I never had to contend with, until now, is SAP. We’re moving to the cloud and I simply need to disable a few databases from backing up.Now, SAP was done through the Command Center - I’ve been using the browser for everything to this point. However, as I understand it (and this seems logical ...) - if we change things in the browser (which is “under the hood”), what’s done through command center may override those changes. Thus, if it’s done throught the command center (aka, plans), it should be managed (as best as possible) through the command center. This is akin to using stick-shift to automatic, it seems. Is this correct thinking? Start with command center plans - work with it in plans/subclients and finish it with plans/subclients. Second - Ok - how does one disable a database backup in CV 11.32? I have found “delete” on a database, but that smacks of delete the database - which is not what I wish to do. In br
Hi Team,Im wondering if anyone has any success, or otherwise using S3 standard as a Primary copy.We will be deduplicating. That would not be my preferred option, as I always prefer faster disk than a Cloud-library offering, but the question is being asked. We do have some fairly large databases (a few TB’s) and I’m wondering how the throughput of say a 5TB DB would hold up in a restore situation. It would be good to hear people’s feedback on this subject. Thanks

I noticed that the latest price list no longer includes Threat Scan for VMs and Risk Analysis for VMs in the SKU list. This effectively means both services can now only be purchased or consumed based on the amount of processed FET.We recently added Threat Scan to our internal catalogue as part of our upgrade to FR40, and this sudden change is quite disruptive. Unexpected adjustments like this significantly impact MSPs and resellers, making it harder to position these services to customers because the cost becomes highly unpredictable.I’m curious to understand the reasoning behind this change, as in my opinion, it does not seem to support upsell, sales growth, or revenue generation.
Hello everyone,I'm looking to optimize storage for my SQL Server backups in Commvault using Application-Aware mode (VM backup with application consistency, without agent installed on VMs).Context:SQL backups via Application-Aware only (no Commvault agent installed) Need to apply different retention policies to optimize storage: Transaction logs: short retention (e.g., 7 days) Full backups: long retention (e.g., 30 days) Issue: I know this granularity is available with the Commvault SQL agent installed (via separate subclients), but in Application-Aware mode, I cannot find these options. It seems we're limited to a single retention policy for the entire VM.Questions:Is it possible to configure differentiated retention policies in native Application-Aware mode? Is there a solution through the Commvault REST API to manage this programmatically? What would be the best practice to optimize storage in this context without installing an agent? Thanks in advance for your feedback and experienc
Via MS TEAMS >Workflows>Manage I’ve created a workflow called Send Webhook Alerts to a Channel and copied the URL created. I’ve then go to Commvault Command Center>Manage>systems and created a Webhook and provided a name and used the copied URL. I’ve then sent a test alert from Commvault to the webhook however the status of the Webhook in Commvault remains in red with error he status 401 Unauthorized with the message{"error":{"code":"AuthorizationFailed","message":"The authentication credentials are not valid."}}I’m not providing any credentials. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hello!I hope you all doing well!I am playing with backup configuration for MAXDB, we would like to control it via worklof.Unfortunately while triggering backup via workflow we are getting two errors…One error for workflow called “SAP MaxDB” is: While trying to run workflow “SAP MaxDB XUSER” i do have this error: When we do trigger a backup from server by the same command as is int the script/log: Then backup is working - but only triggered from server…Now we do have backup scheduled from crone, but we would like to trigger it from CV.
Hello, can I use HyperScale X nodes for configuring and running ThreatScan feature? Thanks.Jan
Dears,I am trying to add a standalone Hyper-V host (not joined to a domain) into Commvault, but I am facing issues with the credentials during the hypervisor configuration. The Hyper-V host is not part of the domain, so I entered the hostname, local administrator username, and password.I also added the Hyper-V host and Commvault server entries to the hosts file on all related servers. However, the system fails during the connection and validation process.Below is the exact error message:Failed to connect to virtual machine host [CommvaultSVR.xxxxxxxxxxx.com] as user [.\Administrator] from access node [commvaultsvr]. Please ensure that the access node is able to communicate with the host and that the user account and password are correct.I would appreciate your assistance in identifying why the access node cannot authenticate to the standalone Hyper-V host and how to resolve this credential/communication issue.Thank you.
Hello,I’m trying to back up Netapp CIFS share with the Hyperscale as access node The hyperScale have 11.36 with ISO 3.2506I cant choose the HSX as access node while browsing the content and the back up failed with “Failed to mount file share volume“the HSX has cifs-utils installed and samba-client installedAM I missing someting that is required for CIFS backup with Hyperscale X as access node?

Hi All, I am having some challenges protecting a multi-instance DB2 configuration. The below error is thrown: Db2 vendor library reported an error:[ ---- error report ---- app. message = backing up the database line = 6198 file = ClDb2AgentLib.cpp SQLCODE = -2079 SQL2079N An error was reported by the shared library "/opt/Commvault/commvault2/Base64/libDb2Sbt.so". Return code: "-1". --- end error report --- ]. [Backup] operation could not be completed.Source: p3hdb_2, Process: ClDb2Agent The backup of the first instance completes successfully. Can a single Commvault instance protect multiple DB2 instances? I ask because how is this achieved if a different user and group own the each DB2 instances? As I understand it the Commvault binaries and log location should also be owned by this same user/group? In light of the above:1. Are multiple Commvault instances required to protect multiple DB2 instances?2. Can different users/groups own the different DB2 instances?3. If so, should the Db2_c
Hello,Just want to checkDoes metallic io supports 1 touch virtualise me recovery from physical server ( windows) to azure vm in azure cloud?

We have been experiencing checkpoint backup failures for VMs on Hyper-V Failover cluster. The CSVFS volume is having 30% free space. How much is the free space needed for the VSA backups to complete for Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual machines. In VMware it is recommended to keep 10% free space on the datastore.
Hi all,We encrypted our databases with TDE in a pilot project and figured that Commvault SQL module makes the backup 8 times larger compared database dump on the disk (SQL 2016, compression enabled). What is recommended Commvault configuration so that we retain the size SQL Server can achieve? We moved from filesystem backup to native backup few years ago and currently it looks like we need to move back! Has anyone implemented this with good results, please? Thank you.
Team,A customer is evaluating to capacity of using DSQL, is the Aurora PostGreSQL will support DSQL ?https://aws.amazon.com/fr/rds/aurora/dsql/
I have 2 media agents connected to tape library with 8 drives… and they both host a Plan and I can’t seem to have the aux copies to tape to use more than one drive. Each plan has 30 Streams and the aux copies use the primary copy as the source copyEach also have an aux copy going to the other one (01 to 02 and 02 to 01) . In the media tab, I’ve combined source data streams to 2 and I did not multiplex..Should I use the second copy as the source for the tape copy then?I find this whole part a bit confusingthxG
Hi,Is there a report or setting that will alert me when the Metallic side of my DR backups fails ? Thanks
