 Hi teamI have installed DAG Exchange 2019 servers on Vmware virtaul machines. Is it possible to use intellisnap functionality in this setup to backup (snap) exchange databases ? I have checked that VMware VM image backup and also Exchange database agent are supported for intellisnap and all requrements (separatelly) are met.But what if Exchange DAG is installed on Vmware environment ?I would not use “application aware” backup because of limited functionality of databse backup in that case. I want to use Exchange Database Agent backup fully configured inside DAG servers and runing beside of vm image backups.Thanks for all advices.

Hi Community,We have a use case for single instance InfluxDB servers that will reside on VMs on-prem, with the possibility of including the software clustered on-prem also in the future.As far as I can tell there is no information to backup InfluxDB that I can find in our CMV DOCS or on this Community forum, does anyone use this and have some good recommendation.The influxDB comes with backup and recovery tool sets, so I would imagine using the tools to create backups and ingesting the folders into Commvault via file backups frequently might only the be the case  here, and couple that with a VM backup of the OS vDisk.Anyone lese have a view or working scenarios with decent RPO?Thx for any replies

Hi!We have a lot of microservices in development that will use RDS PostgreSQL as a DB. They will born together, at same time.I would like to put this new RDS in a existent structure using terraform, adding plans, storage policies, schedules, etc.Has anyone done this? Any tips? I have done some research on the internet and have found very little on the subject.

We have a CommServe and Media Agent on a same windows server. Just we want install another CommServe in same environment to configure automatic HA. If the active CommServe failed or any disaster, then another CommServe will takeover automatically.How can we configure the automatic HA along with CommServe and also Media Agent?

Hello community,I’m wondering about cloud libraries redesign to provide offsite copies for resources protected in certain Azure region. Since we don’t have express route in our configuration, I’m wondering how to keep costs low. Basically, we are running at Metallic, but most of Commvault configuration is available to us. So, there are two major scenarios I’m considering:use set of new AZ Storage Accounts with native Geo replication (GRS) to keep egress costs more controlled. So there would be primary copy keep at hot LRS in RegionA and secondary at cool GRS RegionA (replicated to paried region) use Commvault native auxcopy, this will trigger significant egress upon transferring data from one AZ region to another due to extensive data reads. So there would be primary copy keep at hot LRS in RegionA and secondary at cool LRS RegionB  What are you experiences? Will GRS with additional amount or reads caused due sFull etc. generate significant additional costs too? Or maybe there’s someth

Hi,We have three new SAP R3 system installed, beside several others. SAP for Oracle Agent installed and configured on all of these servers.SAP for Oracle backups are running without any issue on most of our servers, but on the three new server, there is a warning. "Error Code: [18:104] Description: Some warnings might have been ignored for this job. Please check the backup.out log for details." Status:"Completed w/ one or more warnings" There are no skipped or failured folders or files.In the suggested backup.out file I can find following: "BRBACKUP completed successfully with warnings" and "BRARCHIVE completed successfully with warnings", but nothing more about warnings.Where could I find the reason of warning?There are several "successfully" message, no "warning" in the log, only at the end of BRBACKUP or BRARCHIVE process. If SAP for Oracle backups can be completed without warnings on other servers, it should be on new ones also. I think.

A question about the implementation of multitenat when using the same commserve.I have not been able to understand if it is necessary a server that acts as a proxy, or that must be enabled to implement it, is there a step by step guide for such implementation, in my case I already have a solution in production and the requirement is to install another company that has a mediagent but that is in a separate environment and does not share resources with the first production environment, acting as a separate solution. is it possible?

While playing around with some new features of the latest release (2023E) we tried to create a resource pool for object storage and to see if we can assign it to tenants/companies. Hi, we have a client group which includes VMs depending on tags in vCenter (VMware).  The group uses Virtual Machine Association, and the group appears to refresh/resync every 2 hours.  We’re trying to find a way to force the resync either using a command or reduce it to 30 minutes using an additional setting.  There is a Sync function in Command Center (Manage > Server Groups > {Group_Name}), but we need to automate the process.  We are led to believe there is a setting, but a call to Commvault support was unsuccessful in fining it. Does anyone know of the setting or a command?We are running V11.28 Thanks, Sparky

Hi we have problem with exhgange snapshot backup copy  jobs that resets after we entered it to suspend and after that to resume. We are using 11.28.63 version and trying to find a solution to suspend jobs but resume it without to lose backed up data. 

   We are using Intellisnap VMware backups.  We are also using Gridstor.    When the snapbackups kick off, many of them after the discovery phase, go to Waiting.   The phase shows as BCD Index Restore.   The job will wait for 20 minutes before continuing.   This delay is frustrating.   I am able to work around this if I am watching the backups kick off, by suspend and resume the jobs.  They will start running immediately with no issue.  In reality, the BCD index restore runs so quickly in the background, there is no reason to wait 20 minutes.  This just delays my backups getting done and off site.  Does anyone else notice this issue?   I have opened tickets with support and eventually they tell me is is working as designed. :-(

Hi,I saw an online video for backup of Office 365 on youtube and it shows 4 options and one of them was “Exchange Online (Access Through Azure Active Directory)” option. However in our Commserv there are only 3 options showing and that option is missing. We only have Azure AD so the option of Exchange Online (Access through On-premise Active Directory) is not a valid option for us.  We are looking explicitly for Exchange Online (Access Through Azure Active Directory). Can any one point as to why this option is not visible or what we should do in our case since we dont have an on-premise AD?ThanksFahad  

Just wondering…Background: I’ve been recently running “CVDiskPerf -PATH (a folder) -OUTFILE (a log file)” vias it appears we might be getting low read throughput to locally mounted storage on my media agents and I’m getting vastly different readings.  Like 400 GB/hr for one run, then a few minutes later 1500 GB/hr.  I know there will be “some variance” but i was under the impression that this tool would probably “run for a bit” and give a more solid reading.  our storage nor our servers running CommVault are showing CPU or “IOPS pressure” in any metric that shows they aren’t able to handle more load/throughput. Before I started running this tool I was under the impression it would “work a little harder” to get throughput stats and not finish in a minute (like it would really try to push a limit of CPU/throughput/etc and the storage system would notice it as it was getting fed a lot of read/write requests).  Currently the storage system doesn’t register a blip when it runs, making me fe

Hi,I’m trying to restore data from tape and when it attempts to restore the Index I receive the following errors:Error: Unable to find/get index in the cache for [SubClient_81] at time [Fri May 5 14:14:14 2023]. Backup data browse in subclient [1032011_SERVERNAME\Windows File System\BackupSet_1032011_33_45\Subclient_81] not completed due to failed index cache restore. Media with barcode [ARM960L7]. side [A_1125], mounted on library [IBM 3573-TL 16] and drive [IBM ULT3580-HH7_1] on MediaAgent [SERVERNAME]. Mountpoint [\\.\Tape0] for job [313813].  Media block size is [64k].  Mount finished in [39] secondsI can see the tape that contains the Index is mounted into the Tape Drive and from there when it attempts to restore the Index I receive the following errors above.Has anyone seen this issue before? Thanks all

GreetingsI'm having an error when I restore a linux Ubuntu20.04 VM to VMWare the error that returns is this: I'm doing a virtual machine migration test from Huawei's FusionCloud platform to VMware, and with that I'm using VMWare - Converter to run it.When the migration finishes I have this initrd error to recreate the server. Can you help to overcome this error?Thanks if you have any tips

Hey everyone, we currently have two servers, one server is automatically deleting data every day from subfolders and the  otherserver is a SCCM server where changes happen daily. After almost a month Commvault is still "complaining" about thies two servers and every day "Clear anormaly" is executed. My idea is to exclude these folders. But is there another possibility ? Maybe you can teach Commvault to ignore the folders by itself.

Hi All, In one of our customer site, “cvd.exe” file got removed (We suspect anti-virus software for this). We couldn’t repair the instance as it gives errors due to “cvd.exe” file being missing. Since the CSDB is ok and fine we did a failover to the DR commserv and operations are continued. Now we want to do an instance (instance 001) only restore for the commserv. We couldn’t find any documents regarding this kind of rebuild. Can anyone help us with a proper documentation link or steps.
